Dracoix, I'm rather new to steam and modding but use aoe for the art of worldbuilding for fiction authors, to help emmerse them in their worlds. I'm trying to use this mod to add the unlock assets mod for base and FE game. but don't understand the three steps, could you run through it for me so i dont get it wrong. I've got the utility open with the assets mod open in the first window on the left.

You're quite welcomed. :)

I came back to AOE2HD after a 7 month hiatus and everything was fucked up. No matter what mods I subscribed to (and yes they were up-to-date, I checked), they were always immediately removed as soon as I launched the game (X MODS HAVE BEEN ENUMERATED... 0 MODS INSTALLED). When I checked the steam workshop button ingame my mod list was empty. Also my game would crash after clicking twice while in the steam workshop menu.
After crashing or exiting the game. All my AOE2 mod subscriptions were cleared.

I tried resubscribing to the mods & relaunching the game dozens of times. Even reinstalling the game/verifying the game cache multiple times. Nothing worked, I always ended up with all subscriptions cleared after every game launch attempt....

Until I downloaded this mod. It somehow fixed everything.

So thank you, you magnificent bastard.

@Metal_Bard it checks windows registry for the steam installation directory (only). If you installed though dropping or via network storage then you're in the 0.01% of the people that do that. I too installed in a non-default location, so unless you installed steam in one place (like a HDD) and AoE2HD in another (like an SSD) then that's the last variant of possibilities. I'll push another version if need be.
Metal_Bard Jul 27, 2015 @ 3:07pm
This only seems to work if you installed through a default location. I did not. I would like to know how to change the directory read path.

its not beacuse people dont like jars its the stupid pc doesnt know how to work with them i try to found information but nothing but its ok ty for the upcomming fix
dracoix 🐉  [author] Jul 18, 2015 @ 7:56am
This isn't a mod though, it's a utility to be ran OUTSIDE the game completely. It's an application, meant to be double clicked, a window (as shown in screenshots) should appear, if not, then there's something wrong with the wrapper (because people don't like jars), which I will fix. Next version will both have a Jar and an EXE available.
Zergei_619 Jul 18, 2015 @ 7:50am
same as @Lamkevbin i downloaded and executed but nothing happens or appear the only thing show up that your mod is working is when is validated when i start of the game
heyfukface Jul 17, 2015 @ 3:40pm
Downloaded the latest Java, but when I try to run Dat-Mod 1b61 nothing loads up. Any suggestions?
dracoix 🐉  [author] Jul 16, 2015 @ 10:05am
@Niga you say you executed it, and it worked sometimes, but you didn't see the actually application window? That's a contradicting statement, the only way it can be used if you actually saw the window, selected a mod, and clicked "install". I think you're getting confused into believing it sometimes worked because the internal game mod manager partially works.
Zergei_619 Jul 16, 2015 @ 9:36am
ok i downloaded the 1b.61 ver and executed it worked with some of my mods and some mods doesnt work
The main problem is i and cant see any windows like those in the screenshots i have updated java but i cant do a force install is something else i have to do to see the window like those in the screenshots?

Thanks a lot... but it seems that, the 4.2 Longevity Pack is working already..I just test the game and I can broke the population limit. :) That's enough for me....Thanks too much~~
dracoix 🐉  [author] Jul 13, 2015 @ 9:24am
That might be the issue. I don't know how to fix it directly. UTF16/32 doesn't like Java when working with filesystem structures. I'll try putting in a workaround, it'll require the user to put in their file paths for literrally everything though. :( I'll see what I can do.
Mars Jul 13, 2015 @ 9:10am
ok you mean the system language..CN

dracoix 🐉  [author] Jul 13, 2015 @ 9:08am
What is your language and steam install location?
Mars Jul 13, 2015 @ 9:03am
It's show the error box that A java Exception has occured,JVM lancher when I use the 64 bit jdk1.7,C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_79
Mars Jul 13, 2015 @ 9:01am
I can't open this exe file ...I was going to install and try the jdk1.7 jre1.7,jdk1.8,jre 1.8,both 32bit and 64bit and set the environment at all. My system is win8.1. That's all not working.
