That happened, that one of the missions include your map, but meme-fied.
In short, this event is April-Fools-day based mvm tour with joke waves and meme activity. There is a promise, if you complete at least 6 missions out of 7, you'll earn a promotional medal.
Anyway, i like your map :)
What is this operation you speak of? Never heard of it and would be interested in checking it out :O
I just want to tell you, that your map rocks :)
I agree with you. This map should be added in Iron Gauntlet
Either put the vpk inside /tf/, or if that doesn't work, use GCFScape to extract the /materials/hud folder, /scripts/population folder, and /maps/ folder.
Put the nav inside /tf/maps.
Put the pop files inside /tf/scripts/population.
Put the vmt & vtf files in /tf/materials/hud.
Restart the map and it should load.
If you have a Wave 0 error it either means missing nav or missing pop files.
Hey, no worries! I have to be honest with ya. I have no clue how servers work with VPKs in TF2. The VPK link I have at the top is strictly a client-side package.
I would assume that it'd be similar to the way a client installs them (tf/custom) but I'm assuming you already tried that on your server.
If all else fails, what you could do is use GCFScape to extract files out of the vpk and manually load those onto the server and your FastDL redirect if you have one. It's a less desirable solution for sure though.
Sorry I can't be of more help
I was wondering when someone would say that. Admittedly, it is very similar to Decoy, although I didnt create it with that intention in mind. I only realized after I finished the map.
Either way though, this was a test map for me to see if I could create something for MvM. And to test custom robots. Figured I'd upload it here anyway since some might enjoy it.
I will be making more in the future that will utilize their own layout and (possibly) theme.
Thank you for the feedback!
As a guess, if you want this to be considered to be in the game, perhaps make the robots utilize more of the oilrig infrastructure, like walking up the stairs and such? (Although it would be problematic for giants.) Otherwise, it's as if you can copy decoy's pop files over here and it will play almost-exactly the same way (bar the lack of engineer support).
Most of the map is unused during the actual wave, especially that pit to the ocean, which is not easily usable to send robots into. It's nice to walk around during round setup and maybe put a sentry gun on one of the platforms high up there (questionable but can work), but that's about it.
GRAVEL WILL POWER THE WORLDS STEAM ENGINES!!!
i like it
