It would be nice if there was a better way to find the deeper caves than just stumbling around and hoping the cave doesn't collapse while digging through miles of rock.

i dont know why but every time i start the game the cave entrance cave immedtly collapse and i dont know if it because of a comptability bug or if it because i disable the collapsed mecanic ? a very coool mod tho

There's a 85% chance to spawn cave entrance down there.

I saw in the updates that you can go deeper in the cave, that it's multi levelled. How do you do it? The cave entrance can only be placed on the surface, and I couldn't find anything else I could build to dig deeper, do I have to find a tunnel or something inside the cave? Really enjoying the mod, thanks!

tragic that I can't transfer downed anomalies out of the cave to holding platforms on the surface. anyone know of a mod that adds them to the transport pool so you can move them to the top to be captured?

@lajF, thanks for report, I usually play with CE (and I'm one of the CE coders), but I haven't played Rimworld at all since 1.6 :headbash:.
This is problem on CE side (this issue can be reproduced even w/o this mod). I'll send a fix to CE later if no one else do.

Mine collapsing generates a ton of Fragments with ce. Im guessing a simple fix is disabling fragments in ce settings, but it would be nice if it would be fixed on your part

idk it seems cool but nobody every goes down, and when they do they don't got back up & i have both things checked to go inside and out if no work avail & free will to enter

Hello,
I´ve had a total of 3 underground holes (level 1 since i didn´t knew u can go down more layers^^). I´ve attacked all of the entrances and 2 caves collapsed and the maps got properly deleted (vanished from colonist bar) but 1 cave collapsed but didn´t disappear. Instead the "Cave collapsed" message got spammed like 20 times a second. The entrance is gone but i can still view the map. How can i ged rid of it?

Maybe a bug. I noticed that one colonist tried to repair the entrace while other meeled it. Maybe that cause the cave map not to disappear?

Yes, you can.
You may find an unfinished cave entrance down there. Finish it and go deeper.

How do you dig another layer deep? I can't seem to dig any further than one layer as it says that I need to be on the surface to dig.

I found out more about the issue I have. Colonists would mine normally until it was time for them to sleep or recreate, in which case they would get stuck in a loop, exiting for those tasks, then reentering probably for mining. I'm not sure why this happens, but what I do to solve it is disable entering the hole in the evening.

Does the type of stone in the cave change with the biome stone type? Like in a Granite/Marble map, is the cave made of Granite and Marble?

I would love an option for increasing the cave stability. I dont want to turn the feature off entirely, but the cave is collapsing a bit too fast imo

The quarry mod generates specific resources and has a chance for failure, while mods like this let you mine things legitimately and thus get experience for pawns and resources at expected rates.

My cave generated with just a small (7x7ish) circle. I've been branch mining to try to find stuff but so far it's been nothing but stone. Is this normal? Or should I try making another or something?

Hm very strange then. Perhaps I'm getting some cross mod interference. 15x setting still only gave me like 9 veins in the entire cave. I even entered debug and used a strip mining tool to cut a grid to expose the cross sections.
Alas. I guess this will just be a high-effort, low-reward source of minerals for early game colonies in my modlist.

Does the resource multiplier setting only take effect on Restart? Because I cranked that bad boy up after not liking how little resources there was versus the digging required and it seems exactly the same as the first cave I did.

@Шашлычник ;р yes! They kept sleeping and starving down there until I downloaded the mod from Github and applied the patch from PR #4

I ended up coding my own patch for the starving issue to create an ExitCave job if pawn is hungry and no food is present inside the cave. Now my pawns are going up and down as needed.

Hello thanks for the cool mod! I am running into an issue where I have some mining spots down there, and I have the hole set to allow people freely in and out, but when my miners go in there, they will often leave immediately even though there is mining spots they could reach. Then they get stuck in a loop of entering and exiting the hole.

I am also seeing the same issue as @Zestir. The colonists are going down on their own to go dig, but they are staying down there until I manually tell them to go up. So even if they start starving or have to sleep.

The warning for landslides is way too frequent like 10+ times per minute.

Also for those wondering about the second level, you don't have to disable the landslide or stability option you just need to find the second entrance it might be completely closed off.

I also have a bug with the text to view the cave/surface that's all messed up
