Very nice mod idea. But it's a shame about the computer. Hope it can be repaired quickly. And maybe later on we can hope for a kind of jumpgate mod. So that we're not forced to build a jumpdrive or the FSD mod.

Is there any future iteration of this mod working in Torch servers? It is really really good and I heavily enjoy it, but it would be nice to be able to be used on a server :D

@Billy super glad you like it. Don't need any cash, the thought is more then enough. Besides, I'm not the best coder and it doesn't even work for MP sadly. I honestly have never commented on a mod for any game before, but for this I just had too. This is the most amazing mod for a game i've ever seen. I've been having so much fun with it thes past few days. Been able to live out my cowboy bebop fantasy! Do you have a patreon or anything? I'd love to send you a few ££ in appreciation.

I can confirm that this doesn't work on Torch DS Servers, you can place the block and the rings sometimes appear but they then disappear shortly after and don't seem to come back.
Would really love if these worked on servers.

Okay I am stupid AF but after a few attempts I got it working! and it was just trying to figure out if I place block on a ship or what, seems like you can't connect it to any block though? Is that normal? Either way it worked pretty well once I figured how to place them

Love this thing over the jump drive by far feels more sciency then a magic block that puts you in another place :)

using these for extended distances tanks my simulation speed holy. Probably also made the world size 10x larger. Also you can't change the speed :steamsad:

Yup, it's meant for survival to make traveling easier, especially for smaller vessels to not rely on jump drives and such. It's basically a highway. Hm... Would be cool to require toll /credits to use it. 🤔

Yet to figure out collisions, so it's not like planned but rather if I can make it work, it will have them, if not, oh well. Also, yeh, speed was added last minute and then didn't have time to properly test it so it might be buggy. Will look into it first chance I get. However, speed will be capped to some min and max value and perhaps a toggle to have ships teleport between rings rather then travel. Still lots of things to look into and decide/figure out

But for some strange reason, I can't change the ship's speed along the trade lane, it always stays at 52088. I would like to make it much higher, so that I can use it as a stargate. I was also wondering if you are going to add collision to the trade lane gates?

btw if anyone's asking, the teaser is something called jump gates, which allow instantaneous travel(well, with a loading screen) between point A and point B, though not the inverse. In the original game, its used to transport between solar systems(as well as jump holes, but I doubt theyre getting added any time soon)

Really nice idea. Feels a little like the gates from Cowboy Bebop, which is awesome.
I really like a more grounded touch, when not everyone can just teleport (almost) anywhere. This makes it more like highways between mayor points of interest

Mod seems to hate docked ships + speed mod. Works fine until it doesn't. Don't really need a speed mod with this unless you want to do atmospherics at reasonable speeds, but some of us like being relatively uncapped. ;p

我看国人有些不会用,我说下吧, 这玩意我也是研究了好一会,你要最后再放他那个MOD方块,先放一个方块然后放控制台,最后放MOD方块,注意,一定要离基地远一点,因为空间会被冻结,你什么东西都用不了,放了方块后在控制台访问MOD块进入自定义数据输入以下格式保存,01为编组,From为从什么地方出发,To为要到哪里去,然后你去第二个点最好50KM以外按照上述方法重新放一遍,只不过第二个方块的自定义数据需要改一下变成他们互通的数据,Earth和Mars对换,最后开船进入区域关闭自动减速就行了。我研究了好一会。。

Requires admin rights and creative tools enabled if the world is in survival mode. The aim of this mod is to provide a traveling system but as part of the environment, like planets are and are not intended to be used freely but placed and planning by 'game master' to make a coherent universe and connect up planets. 👍😋👍

Yup, I could implement that as a setting for now in the custom data as well, don't wanna switch to a core version just yet, lots of bugs and no proper models yet. Keep in mind, these are still just my personal testing models to make it easier to code and see what's happening and visualize stuff.

Yeah that would look weird if nothing was built around it. But the reason I ask if it were possible is to give players the opportunity to build their own gate and have the mechanics to build around the particle effects. This would give players the option to customise the look of their Hyperlane stations, intersections, and such.

@Molten, hum. yeh, I guess that's possible but it's gonna look weird for the particles in between tho and missing gates. Also, gonna look dumb for ppl to be able to enter the lanes in mid sections on only particles without any gates or anything else. My personal opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
