@pumpkin Feak - Naw, they didn't screw us. The normal way of doing things is having the style made at the same time as the main submission. When they added the item we asked if we could rework it a bit since it was very old. We got the green light on that and cleaned up the model and texture a bit. Then as a long shot we made some style to see if they would accept them as well. They updated the mesh and materials but since the style weren't really part of the initial submission they didn't get the green light. They were super nice about everything when we spoke with them and explained their reasoning and we totally understood the decision. Glad you like the styles though :)

@Draconis Material and mesh fix updates and stuff like that they will do. They rejected the other changes though. I've already spoken with them via email back when the case released. The decision was already made. The fact that it wasn't caught before unusuals were unboxed sealed it's fate as far as equip region goes. They declined to add the new styles as they were made after the item was accepted. We assumed that might be the outcome but tried anyway. They were super cool about everything. So this item is pretty much set in stone.

The Hazmat Headcase for example.
and they fixed a different cosmetic recently.
so maybe try pitching them the updated cosmetic files see if they can run it in the coming patches? would be nice to get those other styles too.

@Draconis The error was mine as I had messed up the region in the importer and didn't catch it. I attempted to correct it but they were unboxed so fast that the TF2 team felt it was too late to make the change.

@RetroMike so are you saying valve is to blame for the equip region bug?

Awesome, really should be a misc tho so hats can be equipped. I can clips 40 items with it but can't use hats that wouldn't... come on valve

I just sent off the completely reworked version to Valve. Much improved over the old version. What to do about the equip region mess I leave to them.

If you try it on backpack.tf, this doesn't clip with any hat at all.
It mostly only clips with head replacements and cosmetics that are to be placed in the pyro's eye sockets which are allowed.
It's kind of a worst of both worlds scenario right now.
But it's awesome enough to be stand alone really.

Right. That's why I don't think it's gonna go misc now. Old equip region was Hat/Whole head, which is why it was able to be unboxed unusual. Currently you can stack multiple pyro heads, it's so jacked. That's why I was thinking a compromise change to Hat/Pyro head replacement might be ok?

Well I do want people to be able to equip other hats with it. I know you can glitch it with whole head region, not sure about pyro head.

Might be too late to change it to a misc, too many unboxings? Would changing the region from whole head to Pyro head work out? Or would the hat glitch only work with whole head?

Its also worth mentioning that this doesn't work as anything BUT a whole-head, it cant be a hat cause then itd be an absolute clipping/model nightmare with any facial cosmetics and its definitely not getting changed into a misc when unusual ones are already floating around

Myahster nearly every single word you said was incorrect to an almost impressive level.
Its not a hat and it is a whole-head cosmetic as intended, there's just a glitch that allows you to stack whole-heads with other hats. Even then, it barely clips at all with any of them.

@Myahster Thanks for the heads up! I updated the equip regions and asked that it be patched. I musta screwed something up last time I updated the file.

So this is a hat, and not a head cosmetic? That should be vice versa.
Currently, it can be worn with other heads. Meaning it clips horribly.
