Okay, here’s an idea:
What if it looked at what external componenents makes up the creature, and used that to generate a dynamic model? Then if someone manages to fit enough organs into an arm, a waking arm!

Also, what if some animal parts (or active genes) have abilities? So, kill someone with flame spew, and the “chemical glands” can be on the relevant part! Boomalopes? Why, that’s a chemical sack! Fuel spew (vanilla factions inspections), that’s in the throat!

Basically, have it so abilities that are tied to parts either logically or actually can sometimes get transfered to the pawn!

Finally, maybe some way to allow us to make them capable of withstanding (short) durations outside, in Space?

FYI - you compiled the mod incorrectly, so it now has half of Unity packaged into it.
This can have gamebreaking consequences with other mods at times - so I would recommend fixing that.

@ParasiticSquid plans already exist, yes. But I haven't acted on them yet so i know neither if/when I'll get around to it or if it's even feasable. Maybe this will happen, maybe it won't

Also the liver is inside of my creature and has green around it but it still says there no liver in it

I'm mainly trying to use a ibex liver but it doesn't do anything I've also tried the liver from a turkey

@GarryFlowers I accepted the liver and put in a creature but is still shows red that it's missing also I have tried multiple livers and I've tried ones that aren't moded and they don't work also it shows they have no potencie

@MRDOGE did you click on accept and is there a green outline around the liver? the text it shows for missing organs is for the ones currently in the organs (which have a green outline), not the ones selected in the UI. If you don't click on accept (which actually puts selected organs in) then it won't show. if this doesn't help, is the liver from a modded animal and if so does it actually show liver as one of it's potencies?

When I'm trying to recombine parts it says there's no liver even though I have a liver in it

@GarryFlowers it’s marked yellow everytime I put in a few lungs. It says I’m missing lungs despite the lungs I have and I think I tried to put in a rib cage but it still didn’t work. So I assume it doesn’t need a rib cage. And by limit I mean a setting to reduce the requirement for the Frankenstein’s breathing potency, because the the highest potency I had was 5700 but it still didn’t say I had lungs.

@Iksed usually when the requirement isn't marked like that it means that you're missing a requirement. Do you have any yellow missing requirements? Do your lungs/breathing pathways maybe require a ribcage or something else? also, what do you mean by "limit the breathing potency"?

I'm trying to recombine a body but it says it has missing lungs even though I inserted about four. The breathing pathway is 5700 but the game doesn't mark it green and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, is there a way to limit the breathing potency?

@LadFox actually i'm the one who should apologize. you're correct about logs being important, but rereading my comment made me realize that i came off as way more passive aggressive than i intended or was justifiable in this situation (or at all). even if an incomplete bug report can be frustrating for the developer of a mod it's still usually better than no bug report at all because it at least let's you know that there is an issue and make a rough estimate of how many people are affected. Also, just in case it wasn't clear, the reason i pinged you in my comment was not to berate you but to let you know that the issue you encountered has been fixed. I wholeheartedly wish you a nice day :steamthumbsup:

@GarryFlowers Yeah, sorry. Well aware that a log is more helpful than what I did, I just don't know how to provide a log in comments, otherwise I would've. Just tried to give all the information I knew in the hopes it'd be helpful, figuring there's little to no harm if it isn't. I'll try to look into using github like Swordmouse did, since that's a good idea, so I can do it if there're any issues in the future.

@Zeakol it's been a while so i don't quite remember. i remember that it was on my todo list at one point but i think i decided against it since they can just be drafted and directly ordered to attack that way so there wouldn't be much of a point

So I made one, it can't be trained to do any work it just wanders about as a guard person. Can they be trained if other brains are used?

yes. Some parts have an inner/outer capacity. Using the abominizer you can attach parts to other parts up to this capacity. Simply keep attaching parts until all red problems go away and your creation has all required organs. Then you can animate in the animator. you'll also need some hemogen, since your creations will start at 99% bloodloss and can't recover from it without an operation

I have all parts however it still says I don't for most parts. Do I need a torso or something to tie it all together?

The issue should be fixed now. If you still have old body parts in your saves you will unfortunately have to manually eject and dispose of any that just have "Body part" as the item name. (working parts should have the part name in the item name e.g. "Body part (Yak Ear)"). Once you have no old parts left everything should work again.

Also special thanks to Swordmouse for being the only person here who actually provided helpful information for fixing the issue. One of the reasons why this took so long is that i simply didn't understand what caused the issue and he has helped me tremendously. With that being said, your error logs do look different from mine after i reproduced the issue on my computer. Would you be so kind as to update me on whether or not the issue is fixed on your computer as well now? thanks in advance

I am having the same problem, all parts are now "body part" but even after ejecting the parts the buttons wont work

Same issue as jester/LadFox: Upon reload/restart all stored parts are called "Body Part", and the Abominizer doesn't react when "Recombine Parts" is clicked.

Created a log which shows errors in the debug log, hopefully it's helpful. Great idea for a mod, thank you for the work you put into it! Going to try using fresh parts and creating a stitch before saving/loading.

After saving and loading, all body parts (they were all stored) revert to 'Body Part' and have to be ejected before the "Recombine parts" and "Animate parts" buttons work again.

@Drink4Jester ok, i am officially out of ideas. i was hoping that there would be some way of getting an error message to show up in the game console, which is usually what happens with these types of problems, but without that i simply cannot help you. I don't have enough information and can't reproduce the error on my computer. All thats left is to systematically remove other mods to see if any of them are incompatible with this one

@Drink4Jester if you try to open the menu while dev mode is enabled, does it open give you any red errors then?
