Issues with custom xenotype performing surgeries in 1.5, like others mentioned use other mods instead

I've also found surgery completely failing with this mod unfortunately, the bar fills up and medicine is consumed but nothing happens, no failure message or anthing. Removing the mod was an instant fix
JazzimoX Aug 7, 2024 @ 6:08pm
My paramedic mech got 7 surgeries in a row and then on the eighth (install kidney) chopped the patients neck off (deathless gene can't save him now).
Draegon1993 Jul 31, 2024 @ 11:08am
I'm having the same issue with the surgeries failing and just wasting everything.
Archy Jul 25, 2024 @ 7:43pm
@kirboh yes i do, it seems to be the case of instead of pawn fails surgery and harm the patient, they just standing still and nothing happen due to this mod. this seems to happen after 1.5, so this mod is not really working perfectly fine like it used to in 1.4
Mlie Jul 1, 2024 @ 11:23am
Since this mod has been reported working in 1.5 I added it to the No Version Warning-mod

Has anyone else been having a problem where surgery would do nothing at all except waste medicine?

Thank you very much !

Just FYI, I've been using this for the past several weeks with 1.5 (I can't play without it anymore) with no issues that I can tell, covering dozens of surgeries. But I'd love to see it updated so it's not red in my modlist. :)
L2 May 10, 2024 @ 4:42am
Will this return the item you use by chance?
DarkShadow44 Apr 26, 2024 @ 6:18pm
I made my own version here : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3233032071
It's my first mod though, so feedback and suggestions welcome!
obin0684 Apr 26, 2024 @ 6:38am
update please
Nev Apr 25, 2024 @ 3:42am
Does anyone know of an alternative surgery mod that makes surgery not kill half my favorite colonist by sheer unluck?
andydig Apr 20, 2024 @ 7:50pm
update please?
SleepyNotDead Apr 20, 2024 @ 9:36am
Please update to 1.5 as soon as you are able to.
Greysuki Apr 17, 2024 @ 7:14am
Since there have been no changes to the code, I believe you can manually upgrade without any issues. If the author doesn't return in a few weeks, I may re-upload version 1.5.
Puppydoll Apr 16, 2024 @ 9:28am
i imagine this wouldnt work with surgeries added by anomaly? no idea about un-updated surgeries in 1.5
Spirehawk Apr 13, 2024 @ 1:33pm
is it still functional?
that squirrel guy Apr 11, 2024 @ 11:26pm
1.5?
Jippy Apr 11, 2024 @ 5:28pm
Looks good!

excited for an update
DarkShadow44 Apr 4, 2024 @ 5:42pm
What license is this under? Would you allow me to make a fork with those changes?
Winter Apr 4, 2024 @ 3:40pm
+1 for 99% max success chance & replacement parts not being destroyed on installation.
(Maybe even scale the destroy % based on doctor skill level)
Alleyballey Mar 27, 2024 @ 6:13pm
I know I am simply another in the definite horde of comments requesting this exact thing, BUT I'd love to see an update where the implants are not consumed on a failed surgery. It doesn't make sense and it's annoying to deal with.
Vintorez Mar 23, 2024 @ 5:58pm
Would be nice to have an option to set the maximum surgery success chance to less than 100%, shit can always go wrong after all.
ubergarm Mar 7, 2024 @ 8:05pm
Well done! I just tested with Zetrith's Multiplayer mod and tested - seems good so far! I failed a surgery catastrophically and it did not desync. The foot was saved and the game went on!
DarkShadow44 Feb 26, 2024 @ 3:29am
I too would like the option to have minor failures not destroy the implant.
SpaceDorf Jan 11, 2024 @ 7:58am
The inspiration mods are .. I think I will try this one as well.
Deadmano Jan 10, 2024 @ 6:51pm
I'd assume this would be compatible with Choose Your Medicine right?
kotamine Jan 8, 2024 @ 11:52am
It'd be nice if there was an option for failed surgeries to not consume implants
SpaceDorf Dec 3, 2023 @ 12:02pm
Glass eye the size of a bowling ball. And then shove
RacistMoose Dec 2, 2023 @ 12:51pm
Never could understand how someones head was turned to paste after trying to fit a glass eye

You have the official Blessing :

Please use Better Surgery instead
Winter Nov 1, 2023 @ 11:42pm
I never quite understood how a surgeon could accidentally cut someones eye out while performing foot surgery. Thanks for the mod.
cylordcenturion Oct 23, 2023 @ 1:42am
can you make it so that minor failures dont destroy the part that was being installed?
Julian333XD Oct 20, 2023 @ 8:16am
Can you please add the option to remove/change "Surgery with complications" to not trash organ harvesting? i need a heart, not two dead people
Ice Guy Oct 15, 2023 @ 7:11am
Thanks for this, I recently was installing 4 bionics onto someone and had 2 failures with glitterworld medicine, 157% success rate bed, and because of other mods and funny multipliers a surgeon with 30,000% success chance.
Copper Boltwire Aug 2, 2023 @ 4:14am
I made a mod of my own, only altering the surgery chance, totally inferior to yours. I did that because when i searched Surgery, i missed your mod, and thus ended up thinking that apparently no one ever made a mod like this.

Now that i know better, I altered my mods description to link to your mod, so people can get a superior version than mine.

Felt the need to say this - Have a nice day.
Gegegeb  [author] Jul 6, 2023 @ 11:45pm
@Masterofgaming22, this happens because the game doesn't allow harvesting damaged organs. The damage is applied before the surgery is complete, so you get no organ when harvesting. I did not particularly intend this behavior, it's just how the base game Rimworld surgery works.
Masterofgaming22 Jul 1, 2023 @ 1:09am
the 'complication' outcome has a side effect where if you're harvesting a organ and you get that outcome, the surgery is successful (organ is removed) but you do not get an organ. is that intended?
Netist Jun 22, 2023 @ 10:54am
Less Arbitrary Surgery has a feature where, if you experience a minor failure while installing a prosthetic, the prosthetic is still usable, unlike vanilla where any failure at all just deletes the prosthetic from existence. Does this mod have that feature as well?
Ren Jun 14, 2023 @ 11:01pm
@~zenith~ meme for the community but unironically bad game design
Gegegeb  [author] Jun 14, 2023 @ 9:50pm
@Nako, Updated. Failure is no longer a guaranteed death for body parts with low max health.
nako Jun 14, 2023 @ 4:17pm
This is a guaranteed death on complication/minor failure for brain surgery now, right?
Omega Jun 14, 2023 @ 11:15am
>Order for operation to install bionic arm
>Assume highest medical pawn will install it
>Look away for five seconds
>Local brainlet does it
>Catastrophic failure
>Godlike pawn pretty much instantly dies
Thanks for this.
~zenith~ Jun 13, 2023 @ 4:29pm
Thank you for this blessing. I know its a meme for a surgeon in RimWorld to go from "install peg leg" to "the patient's shoulder (???) is bleeding out oops," but like, that's still stupid? The combat/body part system in RimWorld has always been a little wack (I am still miffed at one of my colonists *losing a toe* because some guy punched [???????] it off in a social fight...), but this at least makes surgery, one of the most nerve-wracking things based on chance, less stupid lol.
Hizzoe Jun 13, 2023 @ 12:37pm
FINALLY I can make my army of cyborgs without worry!
germnbarb Jun 8, 2023 @ 7:33pm
I have no sane words to describe how elated I am to see this existing.
