I am receiving an error message.
"Duplicate Object: reaction FREE_CONTAINER_FLASK_DRAGONSCALE; Offending mods are creationforge (x2). Further duplicates will be printed to errorlog: worldgen will abort.

My bad, I dug through the thread and found the solution that you need a dorf assigned with Woodcutter labor. I wonder if setting other labors to 'noone does this' causes it for some of the other tasks.

Love this mod, its an epic timesaver. Bug report:
Some of the food- and wood-making tasks dont work i.e. dorfs refuse to even be assigned to do it. Not sure what causes it because the specific wood/food tasks that do/dont work seems to change during a game, so it doesnt seem to be mod-code related like the fix that people talk about below my comment. Im currently re-playing a specific save that I previously could make 100 towercap logs with, but at the moment Im not able to make them.

Correction to my last post regarding file changes. I had multiple installations of the games and was editing the wrong file...because I'm an idiot that likes extra work. After following the instructions that @Opslon provided, the fix was immediate and the mod works fine. I did make the changes to both the "reaction_custom_creationforge.txt" and the "entity_patch_creationforge.txt" since I have addition mods that look at the # remarks. I doubt most people will need to reference those, but even if you do, it is only a bit of FIND -> REPLACE work. I did test it on a number of random world creations and none failed. Thanks to Opslon for hitting the nail on the head.

Wish this was updated and working was one of the only ways i could really enjoy the game shame hope it gets updated again at some point if anyone has a perma fix i please post i tried what was explained below but it does not work

@Opslon. That was indeed the issue, but then I run into the same problem with the entity_patch_creationforge file. Each time I would fix the files, it would revert back to the original problem during load. I only started troubleshooting the files and installation, so I'm sure there is a fix, but did you also see a problem with "entity_patch_creationforge" when you edited the files?

I've managed to get around the duplicate problem by deleting the reactions from:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\installed_mods\creationforge (502000)\objects\reaction_custom_creationforge.txt"

Edit for your own file path.

Other reactions to delete can be found in the error log

Found an issue where free adamantine, free leather armor, and free dragon scale flask are duplicated. This prevents the mod from loading properly even when placed in the current load order

Tried loading this solo and at end of load order, only 1 other mod, and getting a duplicate entry free adamantite(?) 100 error. This is terminating world gen so I can't even load it.

can confirm that it still works.

BUT you have to 1. generate a new world and 2. put the forge at the absolute bottom of your mod load order.

Mod does still work (as of 51.01-beta27, Dec 2024) as long as you put it last in your load order.

If you can't find it, make sure you "activated" the mod when you Created the world.
Must be a new world.

I just spent close to half a day trying to make this mod work with some modded races I also added.

I tried following the Compatibility guide to the letter, but it never worked - I thought the ENTITY:NAME were wrong but I checked them 10 times each.

So the solution?

The folders in the guide are dead wrong.

No, the path isn't C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\mods\2898393468 (version number of the mod)

The ACTUAL path is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\installed_mods\creationforge (502000)\objects

The moment I edited the entity_patch_creationforge.txt there, it showed up under Workshops for my custom races after I generated a new world.

I'm a new player so I have no idea if DF changed the paths for mods or what happened, but the guide is outdated and wrong.

For some reason this mod breaks my game. I figure it doesnt appear sometimes because it doesnt support any custom race, however with Creation Forge on, autosaves crash and abandoning (not retiring) a fortress makes the world unusable. Unfortunate!

Never mind, lmao. I'm just super tired and misread a bit of it. I just need to put in some work and make the particular race I want to play as have both the workshop and the minecarts.

Thanks for this mod. It makes casual colony building fun and easy. Like, just experimenting with new designs for visual aesthetics rather than function.

Does it then work for All Races Controllable by MC? I didn't see it on the list of compatible ones but I assume it works the same way. The only problem is that the races from that mod make other ♥♥♥♥ unavailable like minecarts. But that's more an issue on their part.
