Yeah this mod delivers what it promises. If that’s not what you want find a different mod.
[TFJA] DJL66 Jun 13 @ 10:08am
damn guess the fact I been doing role play using this mod with my crew is garbage
Cynder The Bunny🩷 Jun 11 @ 4:43pm
hunter's husk mod is way better lmfao fuuck this garbage
Cynder The Bunny🩷 Jun 11 @ 4:42pm
wait im confused, does this mod not turn me into a husk?? like wtf its only about being infected? i dont turn into a husk? this mod is ass lmfao
ReyRiz Jun 6 @ 11:11am
Cool, thanks!
Cthulhu77  [author] Jun 6 @ 11:08am
Yes, they do.
ReyRiz Jun 6 @ 5:44am
Do the skills work with husk symbiosis? I mean skills that say "when you/your allies have husk infection, get this and that", does husk symbiosis count as husk infection?
Cthulhu77  [author] May 26 @ 9:48am
It does not prevent death and transformation. It just slows it down and gives you additional benefits for being infected. I recommend keeping some meds on you or nearby to manage infection.
Pakucza May 24 @ 8:12am
Hello, Suymbiosis tree doesnt say that it ever prevents your death and transformation, do I still need to care for meds to prevent my death? Or are the buffs still strong enough to survive? Thanks in advance
Still my favorite job, I love becoming just an immortal punching bag from endgame husk symbiosis talents and husk gene.

My friend I play duo campaigns with likes mechs and playing Iron Rider, so it really helps take alot of weight off their shoulders with creature packs and stuff like neurotrauma/barotraumatic together also being installed, since they nolonger needto worry as much about me dying immediately while they try to handle all the things.
Traxex May 6 @ 10:47pm
Oh, my memory is shot then but yea, is no items at all on respawn. The only "workaround" that I can remember is don't start as an acolyte but recreate character into an Acolyte after campaigns starts. Works fine after that iirc mind you that was prior to any major updates
Cthulhu77  [author] May 6 @ 3:20pm
@Traxex I have never been able to figure out why the Acolyte doesn't respawn with items. If it's just the id card itself not spawning in then this might be the first time hearing of it.
Traxex May 4 @ 11:26pm
Having the respawn without id card issue (again? can't remember if it was resolved) when starting as a Acolyte...
JadeXXIII May 1 @ 11:42am
fair enough mate, I appreciate the time you took to reply to me lots, I really like your mods and hope you work through everything on your plate :)
Cthulhu77  [author] Apr 30 @ 12:05pm
@JadeXXIII Eventually, maybe. Again, I have lots of stuff on my plate and I can't really justify the time to work on new mods right now. I don't think this mod in particular would take long to create, but it would just add to the list of mods I have to keep updated.
Nokien Apr 29 @ 7:06am
Ia Cthulhu!
JadeXXIII Apr 28 @ 11:47pm
ok, thank you, would it be something you would think about adding?
Cthulhu77  [author] Apr 26 @ 11:19am
It does not work with assistant's apprenticeship tree. I haven't tried, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible if someone wanted to do that.
JadeXXIII Apr 25 @ 1:35pm
does this mod work with the assistant apprenticeship tree? And if not, would that be something that can be done?
Cthulhu77  [author] Apr 22 @ 3:34pm
@Cynnobin Potentially, but I can't make any promises. Not anytime soon. I know next to nothing about NT or Enhanced Husks and I have been spending my time learning other things and work and what not.
Cynnobin Apr 19 @ 11:38am
Could you make a patch for https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3121183834&searchtext=NT+symbiosis+overhaul , since it comes with slower husk infection the first perks in the symbiosis tree which give slower infection stacks and causes you to regenerate the infection
Cthulhu77  [author] Apr 11 @ 12:14pm
In my more recent tests, they seem to ignore husk infection if they are not commanded to heal stuff. The automatic healing they do when not assigned to the task doesn't let them do that for some reason. Locking it up is a pretty good option as well.
Kap'n Mittens Apr 11 @ 9:35am
is there a way to make my AI doctor ignore my husk infected acolyte? thinking I just have to lock up the calyxinide
Hampter Apr 4 @ 4:59pm
is there a Enhanced Husk patch or does the patch for improved husk work for enhanced too?
i was thinking this job focus is SURVIVE, since all of its traits help with the survival of the crew overall, from the buffs, the medical related traits, and the combat capabilities
Cthulhu77  [author] Mar 31 @ 7:37pm
You lean into the husk affliction and gain various benefits that you wouldn't normally get for doing so.
hey if you can summarize the job's focus in one sentence what would it be, trying to convince my friend to willingly be an acolyte ; ;
Cthulhu77  [author] Mar 10 @ 1:07pm
@Saint Bricriu I'll have to take another look, originally, I made it the husk gene because they changed how genes were generated and I couldn't just make it unidentified genes.

@Stiffie_du_Toit It is all the buffs listed in the Archbishop talent.
Skaganyan Mar 9 @ 9:57am
What exactly does "Church Secrets" do?
Saint Bricriu Mar 8 @ 9:19am
I dunno if someone has pointed this out already or not, but you may need to nerf the talent that allows you to find Husk Genes on creatures killed. As it stands, it gives perfect Genes, and with the Genes nerf to make them harder to acquire, it's kinda crazy to get them by chance for free so easily. Maybe just make it Unidentified Genetic Material, like the doc job?
Witch ~ Feb 8 @ 12:55pm
Makes sense
Ralsei Feb 8 @ 9:04am
A new update by ralsei..... the "husk" is always hostile BUT the mutated husks as in the vanilla ones husk prowler husk chimeria etc are docile
Ralsei Feb 8 @ 8:31am
I still do require help with this job by the way... if anyone knows why husks attack me and i mean by the "husk" and husked creatures the only thing that doesnt attack me are husks that i infect myself its kind annoying and breaks my immersion of being symbiotic with the husk
Ralsei Feb 7 @ 12:17am
Well now that you say that I did have a flashlight mounted on my gun I'm also running a few other mods like dynamic europa that might force the husks in that misson to be hostile? I also tried putting on cultist clothing and they did still attack me
Cthulhu77  [author] Feb 6 @ 6:20pm
Recent tests had no issues with the willing host talent. Looking into the files again, there are things you can do, or have that would still provoke husks, such as having a flashlight aimed at them, or a fire extinguisher. As for enhanced husks, I have no idea if this mod would be very compatible with it.
Witch ~ Feb 6 @ 6:09pm
aww it doesnt work with enhanced?
Ralsei Feb 6 @ 9:56am
@Malo No it doesnt work even regular "husks" attack you currently in a husked outpost misson and they do indeed attack the player even with willing host
Malo Feb 4 @ 5:54pm
@Ralsei im pretty sure the improved husks patch fully works with enhanced husks, been playing with it for a while
Ralsei Feb 4 @ 12:59pm
Hey guys its me ralsei and i have a question about this mod. will there ever be some kind of patch for the husks improved/ enhanced mods? because id find it preety cool if the willing host perk could actually work with all of the husks from that mod
Cthulhu77  [author] Jan 31 @ 12:25pm
I can't think of a reason why that would happen. There is a pretty significant grace period of 10% for husk infection with the genes, so it would have to be a pretty significant amount of lag as well. About 50 seconds worth. I know there is at least 2 versions of improved, or enhanced husks mods now, so if you were using one of the newer mods for that, maybe that? I don't know anything about the newer mod, so I'd have to take a look into the files to be certain.
Malo Jan 31 @ 12:05am
I'm suspicious that lag may have caused it, as I was in a monster nest area that had a lot of enemies and map geometry.
Malo Jan 30 @ 10:42pm
Is there a reason why using husk genes to prevent full husk infection might still allow a husk infection to knock me out and slowly kill me? This is an issue I'm starting to have halfway through my campaign that wasn't manifesting before and I'm not sure what changed to cause it. Using enhanced husks and symbiotic husk infection too but I dont think thats related
Cthulhu77  [author] Jan 29 @ 1:16pm
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that I will be able to do that. I just don't have the time these days to sit down and work on ideas, or test mods. Outside of making sure my mods work with new updates, I won't be doing anything substantial for baro mods. Though, if the author of baroverhaul or any other mod people want to make compatibility mod for that I don't mind at all. Go ahead, says I.
Hazmat616 Jan 29 @ 9:58am
I think that’s unlikely but maybe talk to that mods maker about a compatibility mod
hunters01 Jan 29 @ 9:55am
would you ever make a baroverhaul version of this mod (with extended trait trees and a mech suit) as i love this mod but wish it worked better with baroverhaul
Cthulhu77  [author] Jan 8 @ 10:58pm
Unfortunately, it is a bug that I have never been able to figure out how to fix.
粉色蒲公英 Jan 7 @ 9:50am
Why is it that when I die I am reborn without items?
Cthulhu77  [author] Jan 3 @ 12:45pm
@Yonsim I read your comment a while ago and just forgot to answer, sorry. Ally does include yourself, for the most part. I believe the "Forceful Conversion" talent is the exception, but it is stated in the description that it does not work on yourself. An exact number for how much the slow does is hard to pinpoint with how it works, but rough numbers are 20-25% slower for "Willing Host". When you go into symbiosis it brings it up to about 50% slower. Assimilation is much less of a slow. It's about 10% then another 3-5% if you are using commands to give someone the communion buff.
Yonsim Dec 29, 2024 @ 4:03pm
I do have two minor questions on some of what the skill tree states, so ill ask accordingly :
One, when referring to "an ally" does that include you? because its worded somewhat confusingly with some of the skills such as booster shot.

Two, how much exactly in raw numbers does "slow the rate" mean for willing host, first skills of the symbiosis path, and assimilation? because its hard to judge the usefulness of these perks with just those numbers alone and does any of them completely stop the husk infection from fully taking over?

thats all i have question wise.
Cthulhu77  [author] Dec 26, 2024 @ 9:21am
@cOwOwirus Sure, ask away. Unless that is the question, then yes, that is how the Acolyte works.
