then you have someone else preventing it.
skip the "restart pls" message with escape, then restart your game manually.
alternatively try unsubscribing + resubscribing while in the main menu.
finally, go report to klei that their mod updating system is ~garbage~ broken

i dont have onedrive on my pc, i've even reinstalled the mod and the mod updater, none of that is working.

that is not the mod, that is your game getting blocked by onedrive.

thx for the report. looks like something changed in the way dupe sprites were handled (they also did remove some unused dupe parts)

Hi, Love the mod, but i keep getting a crash since the update, specifically whenever i try to add a new trait to a dupe(in-game, not in the printing pod or on starting a new colony)

This has happened a couple times in a row and always gave the exact same crash log
And i only have spaced out dlc if that makes any difference

I resuscribed to the mod, have the last version but : no option in mods menu and DSS didn't work even in my actual game or when I start a new one :/

I can confirm that its working through the Steam workshop. After resubscribing, restarted the game and the mod version 8.6.1 is listed now.

game said mod "failed to load, restart required" 4-5 times. I uninstalled the one in the local folder. redownloaded from the most recent link in this discussion. slapped that in the local mod folder unzipped. loaded the game 1 more time. then re-enabled all the mods and restarted. now they all seem to have loaded.

incase anyone is having issues this might help^^^^

Yes, and also several ONI mods are also affected. They just disappeared. My save is a mess since buildings have disappeared, etc.

this seems to be a larger steam issue; other games are also affected.
games that I found in a similar situation:
Left4Dead2, X4 Foundations, CIV6

Same issue, mod disappeared. Sub and Unsub didn't work. I do have Mod Updater installed. Using local version now and it works. Thanks! Hope they get this fixed soon!

Whatever update you just forced to fix some other update it made my game go crazy. The mod constantly uninstalls itself whenever i try to activate it.

It is not guaranteed that this works, apparently this has been an issue on game updates for a while now:
