I checked it out. I have installed - Harmony, Core, Just Put It Over There, Mod Manager (Continued).
I figured out the problem. Merchants don't take things to the Shelf, but they do take things to the warehouse area...

I had the same problem. When I have time, I'll go through the mods and write down the conflict. But the problem isn't with "Common Sense"

Is there a specific load order needed or mod conflicts? My traders for some reason always drops them on the ground

Does a similar mod work in reverse as well; Silver/items actually have to be delivered from storage to the traders?

@Deggial Again, you define a storage outside of your base with lowest prio, then disallow non-colonists from accessing your other storages.

While "Locks" isn't updated to 1.6 for now, I don't use it anyway.
To micro, and possibly issues with the support of mechs. (Actually, I don't remember for sure.)
Oh ... and how will my colony pawns be able to retrieve the stored items, if they can not enter the room?

I assume, you won't consider an option for shelves to restrict who is able to *store* something in them?
Nah, probaly too much bloat ...

Anyway, I'll try this mod and find out, how it feels for me. ;)

@Deggial The ones Ive used are called Locks and Locks 2, bot have the option to define what pawns can use a door.

I know that 'Hospitality' allows areas to be allocated exclusively to guests.
I don't think, the same can be done in vanilla RimWorld for non-colony pawns - but even after hundreds of hours of playing, I don't know everything.

Unfortunately, I don't know which "lock mods" you are referring to.
I skimmed through your list, but you are so prolific!

Good idea! This will work for guests.
But trade caravans don't count as guests, or do they?
(We touched on this in our other discussion: RimWorld seems to handle things in a rather ... unusual way.)

@Deggial Easiest is to just have a low prio storage at the entrance and forbid guests from accessing the rest of your base.

I don't assume, a shelve can be marked as "gifts & deliveries only"?
Because if not, my pawns will surely stuff it with other items.

I just bought some items from a trader while they were trying to leave the map due to the temperature, and some of the people in the caravan took the stuff I bought from them out of the map.

The mod is not working for me. I have the usual QOLs mod like Achtung and such and I do have stockpiles. Might be my mods, might be this mod...

@JasonGriffin Id rather not modify the hauling logic of the game, there are a good chance of breaking things with other established hauling mods.
My suggestion is to use a Lock-mod and only leave a lowest prio stockpile in the area where the traders have access.

this might be a dumb request, but would it be possible to make a stockpile designation for receiving items? So that instead of putting them into any stockpile, they would first put it into this stockpile?

just had a trade where i bought 90 silver, a component, 4 medicine and 4 survival meals over cost (sold ambrosia until it cost them 98 silver, which i was okay with just getting 90 silver)

the trader delivered 4 medicine and then walked off with the rest of my items....

@Blazerik All items will be delivered as long as the caravan has enough members. If its just one trader, then no, each pawn will only deliver one item.

@Blazerik I looked at their message to you and since they now do not allow non-player pawns to put things back in their inventory that should resolve the mod-collision.

author of common sense, avil, has also responded but I don't want to continually be the in-between for resolving the mod issue since it causes faulty communication. if either of you want to initiate communication yourselves. You also both had different responses to the issue

@Blazerik Yes, there is a forum thread about the common sense-mod above. Short version is that they override code in a destructive way, otherwise I could have done something about it.

Had the traders not giving me my items if I bought more than 1 item issue. seemingly fixed by turning off common sense's "if interrupted, people place items back in their inventory" option. I guess they would place the first item in my stockpile and then forget the rest of the step and keep the rest of the items.
But it does defeat the point of having this mod at all because now they just store 1 item and drop the rest where they were standing

@Sempai Tested this and all traders carrying items just dropped them when dismissed. You may have some mod-conflict
