Food Poisoning Stack Fix (Continued)

Lanoyo Jun 30 @ 8:22am
@stups I have been having the same issue. I had to temporarily disable food poisoning in storyteller settings because my pawns were getting food poisoning again immediately after getting over it.
randalf Jun 27 @ 7:17pm
@stups my whole colony has also been getting sick, all my chefs are lvl 10 or higher. Think its how clean your storage and kitchen is that affects it also, but it could be the mod as well.
stups Jun 24 @ 4:47am
For some reason after adding the mod for 1.6 my whole colony gets food poisoning at the same time with cooks at a skill level around 15. Not sure if it is because of this mod.

Anyone else with similar issues?
Mlie  [author] Jun 14 @ 8:26am
@Bronips yes
Bronips Jun 14 @ 8:22am
1.6?
HighFlyer96 Jun 1 @ 4:45pm
If it's not the base game, maybe we (RoninVV) could compare our mod list and see what we have in common. I can't remember exactly when I added which mod, but maybe something stands out or maybe you remember.

I could imagine also, it's just how this mod works combined with large storage? Maybe this mod is written with double shelves of 6 stacks in mind while I use cellars with 175 stacks of space. The stone cellar in which I have 1750 packaged survival stored that ended up poisoning my entire caravan. Or maybe in 1.5 the game changed how items stored in a caravan are treated as I don't remember extreme food poisoning outbreaks within my base despite having them in shelves too, even if just 12 stacks.
HighFlyer96 Jun 1 @ 4:40pm
I think it's the base game that changed something for this mod in 1.5. I changed to another mod due to this.

I have no doubt you could figure it out with a proper report, but on one side I have removed it out of my modlist already and on the other side I avoid Discord as much as possible due to their extremely invasive privacy habits. If there is another location where "For best support, please use the Discord-channel for error-reporting." is described, I gladly read up on it and will use it for future bug reporting.
Mlie  [author] Jun 1 @ 8:03am
@RoninVV Let me know when you find out what mod it is
RoninVV Jun 1 @ 7:39am
I've noticed a lot more poisoned meals myself, there is surely a mod that is causing it in everyone's saves.
Monkey Magic May 30 @ 12:04am
I'm surprized this is still required as a mod, and hasn't been added to the core game by now. This "feature" of one suspect meal spreading it's nasty to others already in the fridge feels more of an oversight than intentional.
Mlie  [author] Apr 13 @ 9:41am
@Yaknow_bacon The mod has not changed since the release of 1.5 so it sounds like one of your other mods has. See the Reporting Issues section above
Yaknow_bacon Apr 13 @ 9:37am
I can say this with certainty that this mod stopped working for some reason. 80% of my colonists got food poisoning AT THE SAME TIME after they had a meal. It was working fine earlier in the run, by that I mean couple of weeks back.
Mlie  [author] Apr 7 @ 1:57am
@Silent It works when I test it with no other mods loaded. So far noone has done a report that shows otherwise.
Feel free to actually follow the steps described if you want another response.
Silent Apr 7 @ 1:41am
"See reporting issues, see reporting issues..." How you even sure this works as you said? Every time I got poisoned food with this mod I had to trash ALL meals I cooked. I defenetly stay with vanila mechanic. How I even should track what did this happen? It is not a fatal error, it just work as it work
Mlie  [author] Mar 17 @ 5:57am
@HighFlyer96 Please see the Reporting Issues section described above
HighFlyer96 Mar 17 @ 5:49am
Not sure if this is due to this mod, but all survival meals I cooked gave my entire caravan of 6 food poisoning multiple times in a row. This seems new in 1.5.
Mlie  [author] Nov 19, 2024 @ 10:03pm
@Flat As mentioned in the description you can post on the linked Discord server
Flat Nov 19, 2024 @ 9:47pm
Is there anywhere where I could request you to update a mod or add it to No Version Warning?
Ki Shuya Sep 4, 2024 @ 11:50pm
Yeah I'm in the process of removing and adding mods now. Like I said I don't get any errors, so I'm going through the process, just a bit time consuming when you've got 500 active mods.
Mlie  [author] Sep 4, 2024 @ 11:44pm
@Ki Shuya Please see the Reporting Issues section described above
Ki Shuya Sep 4, 2024 @ 10:57pm
I'm also getting a lot of Food Poisoning even with this mod enabled. I was using Cook Carefully, but that also has stopped working. Not getting any errors, just an abnormal amount of Food Poisoning.
Theocratical Goblin Aug 3, 2024 @ 3:30am
I'm not sure this mod works correctly. My pawns are getting tons of food poisoning from a stack constantly
Mlie  [author] May 19, 2024 @ 10:11pm
@UtterlyFlabbergasted Well, only if the meals are not sealed. The assumption here is that pawns dont just stack meals unprotected on top of eachother.
UtterlyFlabbergasted May 19, 2024 @ 5:51pm
If one meal of chicken is inadequately cooked and still harbors food borne pathogens and is placed directly touching other properly cooked foods, it will definitely spread whatever is in under cooked meal.
BabbenTheBunnyBlaster Apr 13, 2024 @ 2:36am
Does it work correctly now ?
binchcannon Mar 17, 2024 @ 6:07pm
@CryoChick - they made minor changes to CompFoodPoisonable in 1.5, not sure if that would cause the issues you're describing but probably needs a recompile at the very least. Regardless, I'd encourage you to consider this alternative fix: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2921755685

It does the same thing with a few important caveats:
- You can enable/disable the mod safely without damaging your save game
- Preserves vanilla behavior of making food poisoning "all or nothing" for 4x meal recipes

To be clear, the only reason I haven't shared these updates with Mlie is because they would likely cause save file issues for current subscribers as it is not safe to disable this mod mid-game.
CryoChick Mar 16, 2024 @ 3:04pm
okay after testing this mod *does not* work in 1.5 it makes them pick up meals and the meals dissapear instead of being in their hands in case anyone is wondering

Now queue the people goin 'when update'
Giant Enemy Crab Mar 9, 2024 @ 8:26am
@HighFlyer96, dementia has nothing to do with food poisoning chance.
HighFlyer96 Mar 9, 2024 @ 7:55am
My apologies. I deleted my previous comment as I suppose I've detected the cause. While this mod is freshly added and food poisoning went up, I've also had a cook who got dementia. I suppose this is the source of the sudden increase in badly cooked meals, regardless of the high level and this mod works perfectly fine :steamhappy:

Well, if only 1 meal out of 4 is a consistent result from bulk meals (I haven't tested, nor make use of the option ig) then something is odd. It should be that each meal has a separate dice rolls for food poisoning, rather than a whole stack going bad at once. A result of 1/4 seems normal to me, but statistically it should change based on cleanliness, pawn skill, with those 2 individual rolls being influenced by storyteller difficulty. At -5 cleanliness, 0 pawn skill, and Losing is Fun diff, the rolls should be (numbers according to wiki, take with a grain of salt) 6/100 per roll.
PoulRipot Oct 14, 2023 @ 1:30pm
bu düzeltme işe yarıyorsa çok iyi çünkü bu modu aramaya çalışsanız bulamazsınız ama aramayada uğraşmazsınız o yüzden karşınıza çıkıtğında sevinirsiniz o tarz bi mod olmuş
Giant Enemy Crab Sep 16, 2023 @ 10:00am
So what's the verdict here, does this mod work with bulk meals? I've noticed food poisoning still happening but I'm not sure if bulk cooking makes it easier to avoid food poisoning.
cesedcs Feb 26, 2023 @ 4:05am
iyi
东方彩虹🌈 Feb 24, 2023 @ 9:28pm
good
binchcannon Jan 20, 2023 @ 7:28am
Doesn't seem to work right with bulk meals or pemmican. Do a 4x meal job in a filthy room and share the meals among 4 pawns - only 1 will ever get food poisoning (if any). Some players might prefer this but it does break intended behavior of having all meals in a "bad batch" become poisoned together. I assume whoever coded this originally misinterpreted poisonPct field in CompFoodPoisonable as a counter instead of a percentage. This would likely cause all partially-poisoned stacks to become fully-poisoned upon removing the mod from a save game, and all partially-poisoned stacks to become not poisoned if you do the opposite. Could be other unintended consequences as well. Bottom line - I'd recommend removing the safe-to-add/safe-to-remove disclaimers until mod is treating poisonPct as a percentile field consistent with the base game.

Again, this is tested with rimfridge with no issues.
Fuitad Jan 11, 2023 @ 5:45am
I'm having the same issue right now and am also using Rim Fridge :(.
Father Dec 11, 2022 @ 5:14pm
happened to me as well, have cooked and put 1k of smoked meat in a rimfridge, entire stack got poisoned. i hafta destroy the entire stack. well, just fyi.
Mlie  [author] Dec 8, 2022 @ 11:25am
@brandonlk Tested this and it does not happen for me. Perhaps you have some other conflict.
brandonlk Dec 7, 2022 @ 10:19pm
its probably the same issue as jixxor. both using rimfridge
Mlie  [author] Dec 7, 2022 @ 10:11pm
@brandonlk I assume the mod you use that adds the fridge overrides the vanilla code
brandonlk Dec 7, 2022 @ 5:02pm
if put into a fridge, the entire stack will become food poisoned still.
selest19 Nov 27, 2022 @ 6:32am
also is this a explanation for subbing or a problem?
Mlie  [author] Nov 25, 2022 @ 11:00am

Jixxor Nov 25, 2022 @ 10:21am
Starting today ALL my foods are poisoned.
I had accepted refugees, and one of them cooked a few lavish meals x4 with cooking 8, in a sterile kitchen. I noticed it quickly, so he shouldn't have cooked more than maybe 8-12 meals. Yet, for multiple ingame days now, 10-15 pawns get food poisoning per day.
My two cooks have cooking 20 and are the only pawns cooking, yet "incompetent cook" is given as the reason for the poisoning.

I am using RimFridge and have my food stored in there. It seems to me as if ONE poisoned meal per stack poisons the entire stack, and with my newly cooked meals put onto infected stacks, it is an endless cycle of vomit and bad feelings for my colony. I have now thrown all 120 lavish meals out to rot and am clearing everyone's inventory.
My refugees, who are set to eat simple meals, haven't gotten food poisoning once - probably because their cooking 8 pawn never cooked a simple meal.

[PBS] Kafka Rambo Nov 20, 2022 @ 1:31pm
@ Logan76667 What DarkJedi said, plus make sure your cooks have manipulation at 100. Missing a thumb may cause food poisonings. Also I suspect if they are tired they can make bad food.
TheDarkJediKnight Nov 19, 2022 @ 8:02pm
Make sure all cooking orders have been set to respect the minimum cooking requirement you have set. It can be a tad infuriating having to constantly readjust the same setting each time (which I wish would save to a configuration file [which reminds me... need to see if there's a mod for that] to help expedite the process), though something as simple as that (or the toxic fallout, as you have said) could be the culprit.
SappyZoe Nov 14, 2022 @ 2:19pm
I currently have 6 pawns, plus all of my 6 conscious prisoners (which is suspicious) sick with food poisoning, all of them within about 24 hours.
The messages for all of them were "incompetent cook", but my meal bills have been restricted to 8+ cooking since forever, and my kitchen is clean whenever I look (common sense + doormats).
The only thing that's changed is that toxic fallout set in, a few hours before the first people got sick. Is that why? Is anyone else having issues with this recently?
MSJ-06II-C Nov 14, 2022 @ 10:26am
This explains so much XD I didn't even know this was a thing, I only knew suddenly my colonists wouldn't stop getting it with a 10 skill cook XD
