@Copy cat I’m afraid not. Only the weapon’s name changes and a little tag is placed over the weapon’s icon to make upgrades stand out better. Even if I designed reskins for all vanilla items, that would be a tremendous amount of textures considering you can upgrade a weapon to Mark 10 by default in the new Evolved mod (and higher if desired), but since it can also handle modded weapons, there would be no way to extend that to them as well.

Legend Craft Evolved is now available in the Workshop. While there’s still lots of work to be done for a while, I tested the hell out of it and felt confident that it is stable enough to share as a 1.0 version. Perhaps you’ll want to give it a try in a new playthrough first, but it does have a feature that recognizes weapons from this mod and the LC gun mod and converts them to the new format for existing saves. I’m going to be celebrating tonight, but tomorrow, I can work on any hot fixes if needed. Cheers!

Update: B42 done for real this time. I wasn’t happy with how the mod recognized its own items for handling, so I gave it a needed overhaul. Also included tweaks for Rain’s Tools & Axes (made certain dual form weapons cross-compatible for upgrade) and compatibility with Inventory ReImagined. The new mod will, however, be incompatible with Inventory Tetris on release, but I should be able to fix that with a later update. All that’s left is finishing touches on B41, complete an instructional how-to .txt for the mod folder, design an icon for B42, and write the description. Will be English only for 1.0 but translations will be added. Aiming for a US-time Saturday afternoon/evening release. I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out, but one person can only do so much testing. So here’s to hoping it’s not a dumpster fire full of hidden bugs! 🍻

Update: the new mod is virtually done. Some cleaning up on B41, another round of testing, and write a description - that’s all that’s left. To be clear, this new mod replaces both this and the G&G mod, but there will be the ability to convert this mod’s weapons into the new format. The stats may come out weird for legend weapons or if you upped this mod’s values from the default, but they’ll still be quite powerful, if not even more so. Also, the new mod has like 60 sandbox options, so lots of customization ability. Additionally, there’s a lightweight companion mod for those that want to uninstall mid-playthrough. The new mod leaves upgraded weapons as artifacts, so the 2nd mod reverts them back to regular and refunds duplicates used in the upgrade. I’ll post the full details tomorrow either here or to Reddit if I think I can get this out for the weekend. Probably best suited for new playthroughs at first. It’s also not multiplayer tested, but it will be soon. Cheers!

breaks usable items when u upgrade them cant use upgraded item to perform actions in world and other mods dont recognize upgraded items

So, an update: I don’t want to make any claims of full compatibility, but the new mod has worked well with every weapons mod I’ve tested - Brita’s, VFE, Tactical Weapons, Rain’s, Scrap Weapons, Tools of the Trade, and more. I haven’t gotten into tool functionality testing just yet, but it should go well. Tons of sandbox options too. And early testing has been promising for allowing conversion of this mod’s upgraded weapons into the new one’s format. Building two versions has been a chore though - it’s surprising how much is different in the code between the two. The big hurdle remaining is 100% safe mod removal - right now, the mod cannot be removed mid-playthrough without the upgraded weapons remaining - only the ability to upgrade is taken out. The mod may release without that fixed, but I haven’t gotten to really working on that problem yet either. Still aiming for some time this month.

You all probably thought you wouldn’t see me around again…

Very sorry for ghosting, but to be honest, this mod was poorly made. I posted it thinking it would have maybe 1k subs. Now it has over 160k - that’s a few more than I was ready for. Its script-based system is a mess, preventing many compatibilities and even removing functions from certain tools. Its flawed foundation wouldn’t allow me to make it what I wanted. So unable to repeatedly explain my inability to make key improvements, I walked away thinking I’d come back once B42 came out.

Didn’t think it would be over 2 years later.

But here we are! And work is under way on a B41/42 successor. Having improved my coding skills over that time, early results in play-testing are very promising. I’ll share more details once closer to completion and I feel pretty good about saying some time this month. I’d like it to be a smooth 1.0, so I’m not rushing it. Cheers!

had a issue where once you get to lvl 10, every time you hit a zombie it would would make sound and say lvl 10 with every hit. once i removed the mod off the server, it didnt happen anymore

You may want to remove stone axe from the included weapons as it might confuse people when they go to upgrade them then find they can't(Like me)

I added this mod mid save and I have the option set to weapons indestructible yet my legendary fire axe has broken 2 times already. Can I fix this issue somehow?

Hi, it's been a year since an update and I don't know if this mod will be updated, but I have a request:
BitBraven made a mod called "Common Sense" in which, between all functionalities, you can use a crowbar to open force doors.
This can't be done with an upgraded version of a crowbar from this Legend Craft mod, though.
Could you take a look on that specific compatibility issue, please?

anyone happen to know why the Stone Axe apparently can't be crafted despite it being advertised? I was looking forward to it, just for the tree chopping since it wasn't expanded to be viable as a weapon, which i also wanted..

If you set legend weapon destruction, only the admin will lose durability, and other users will have 1 million durability.

Hey sorry but what does `Legend Tier Damage Multiplier - Melee` actually do if `Custom Damage Scaling - Melee` already adds % of damage per tier?
I know what it says but i honestly didn't quite understand it, does this default 10 means it will do x10 more damage than vanilla weapon once it reaches Legend tier? So it will actually ignore `Custom Damage Scaling` once it reaches Legend tier and just x10 vannila version of the weapons damage? I'm just confused a bit lol

To answer and and all possible questions most mods won't use the upgraded tools here due to them not using a generic tool tag but rather a specific tool. Patches would be required for this to change.

@Partis There was an option to 'heal' legentary item in it's menu options,but i'm not sure if it works with destructible legens settings on.
Or, use Refurbish mod.

I'm playing with the Make Legend Weapons Destructible setting checked, but can't I repair legendary weapons with wood glue or tape?
