Seconding the animal part scaling idea. Maybe make it a mod option.
blackrave Feb 18 @ 9:22am
Have you considered to scale part and medicine requirment based on animal size?
0-1.49 size require 1 of each, 1.5-2.49 would require double and so on
Modularity of parts would explain how rat and thrumbo can share same prosthetics/implants

@nana the mod options in the settings menu allow you to enable tail implants for humans, which I think should also work with HAR races.

archotech appendix or pancreas

@MrKociak nice! thank you

Before anyone asks, I am making a patch mod that makes this work better with Alpha Implants [removes any overlapping bionics from Alpha Implants and instead adds the scalable damage feature from it to bionics from this mod]
Samuel_Bucher May 2, 2024 @ 10:28am
In vanilla, melee attack tools are bound to body parts of their owner, and prosthetics that replace those parts have their own tools. For example, the regular human arms has a "blunt 8.2 power" tool attached too it, and the bionic arm overrides with its own "blunt 12 power" tool. Since various animals have different attack strength and type (paws vs hooves), and this mod has universal animal limbs, then how is that balanced? There is also the issue of quadripedal animals only having tools for their front legs, and if all 4 are replacable with the same prosthetic, then a fully augmented animal would be able to attack with all of its 4 legs.

When I load both this mod and "Yet another prosthetic expansion mod - Core" - recipe for Ultratech jaw is disappear...

I'm kinda sad that there is no wooden legs option for animals, on my intentionally slowed research playthrough I have a few animals waiting for years already for a new leg
Smaug Nov 19, 2022 @ 8:43am
Throw in battle boosters and this could be a full replacement of Cyber Fauna into your framework.
J Oct 20, 2022 @ 9:43pm
I was excited to put ultratech tail to my ratkin girl

It couldnt work because its from animals section xD
Koskyo Oct 3, 2022 @ 1:26am
@Mrkociak hi, in this mod,he don't have a protestic wing ? =)
Gerk Sep 30, 2022 @ 8:11pm
For some reason I can't install advanced animal ears (basic bionic animal ears work fine).
Mcsqizzy Aug 13, 2022 @ 5:34pm
Once the dragon wings arrived the only reason i still use a dog said will be the addition of the ability to implant attacks from alpha animals into other animals.
MrKociak  [author] Aug 13, 2022 @ 10:02am
@Holgast will be done soon-ish lel
Holgast Aug 13, 2022 @ 4:07am
any chance of enabling the wing stuff sometime? I just realised that my patch wasn't working because it's disabled 😂
Holgast Aug 13, 2022 @ 3:45am
now I've actually used Dragons Descent, turns out it does have a wing part. sadly it's only called 'Wing'. Tried patching it myself but it's not working quite yet 😂

Insects don't have hearts so that is accurate. But it would be nice for the insectoid ideology colonies out there to mod Insects further than normally possible.
SublimeShark Jul 9, 2022 @ 9:06am
i noticed i'm not able to install any kind of artificial hearts or certain different bodyparts into insectoids, both modded and vanilla, hoping you could fix
also just wanted to say ty for making this mod series, you prettymuch made exactly what ive been looking for, and im looking foreward to upcoming modules
Holgast Jul 4, 2022 @ 4:27am
that's annoying. I wanted to add a horn prosthetic to MHRW too, but only one animal actually has a horns part so I didn't bother
MrKociak  [author] Jul 4, 2022 @ 4:01am
@Holgast perfect.
Now there's at least one mod that makes adding wings worth it.
Alpha animals does have a wing body part, but I'm pretty sure only one animal actually uses it (and it's the decay drake).
Holgast Jul 4, 2022 @ 2:37am
I haven't tried Dragon's Descent, but at least Monster Hunter Rimworld has it, the part def is called 'WyvernWing'.
MrKociak  [author] Jul 4, 2022 @ 2:33am
@Holgast I kinda already made wing replacements, but realized most (even bird-like) animals don't have wings (even vanilla birds don't have them), so they've been lying there not being active.
If animals from these two mods have wings as actual body parts (that can be damaged) then the wings would finally have a use.
Holgast Jul 3, 2022 @ 5:51pm
I would love a wings patch for stuff like dragon's descent, monster hunter rimworld etc. I already added a rudimentary prosthetic wing, but higher tier ones would be sick
MrKociak  [author] Jun 17, 2022 @ 5:18am
Update:
-Some extra patches for Alpha Animals
-File cleanup (FindMod patches have been replaced with LoadFolders, it should decrease load times by a decent amount)
-Some other stuff I may or may not have forgotten about

Let me know if any issues appear
MrKociak  [author] May 30, 2022 @ 4:48am
@Kowhaifan if you want that then just use xenobionic patcher
Kowhaifan May 29, 2022 @ 8:07pm
okay but can i give my cat human legs please
MrKociak  [author] May 25, 2022 @ 9:27am
@The Almighty 404 I'll take a look at it then, maybe there is something I can do.
The Almighty 404 May 24, 2022 @ 11:07pm
So, for some reason, the Archotech Metamorphose from Mezz's "Archotech+" replaces my pawns' legs, arms, noses, ears and jaw with the animal Archotech implants from this mod instead of the human ones. Weird incompatibility.
MrKociak  [author] May 18, 2022 @ 4:59am
@Noisy Koi It should work with animal hybrids added by genetic expanded (if that's what you're asking), but if by some weird chance they don't, let me know so I'll make a quick patch for it.
Other than that the two mods don't really mess with each other.
Noisy Koi May 17, 2022 @ 8:59pm
does this have any workins with genetics expanded by chance?
Stardust 🌠 May 17, 2022 @ 4:41pm
@TurtleShroom The Dog Said mod only adds new prosthetics. It doesn't add any frameworks for animal prosthetics that the vanilla expanded core mod doesnt already do.
It's not required because A Dog Said is not a framework mod. It's a prosthetics mod.
MrKociak  [author] May 16, 2022 @ 2:37pm
@TurtleShroom why would it be required?
TurtleShroom May 16, 2022 @ 2:00pm
Why doesn't this Mod require the Dog Said Mod?
Quiana May 16, 2022 @ 8:45am
@MrKociak
Thank you, that explains perfectly. So similar system, just specific to your parts only. I will have to see how the two interact, since I was using it and 'harvest everything' to allow replacements to body parts naturally. This gives a nice option for bio replacements that I'll look into myself if I can just straight-up drop the two.
MrKociak  [author] May 16, 2022 @ 8:35am
@Quiana I don't exactly know how Xenobionic patcher works, but I think it and this work a bit differently. This mod patches in the operations the same way Cyber Fauna does, basically adds specific operations to all animals.
That means that implants not on that list cannot be installed onto any animal without it being manually added first.
Basically if you're using other mods that add implants that you would like to have on animals then I would recommend keeping Xenobionic Patcher active, but if you just want limb and organ replacement then it can be dropped (though replacements from other mods sadly will also require a manual patch). I guess requesting a patch also works, but it would require you to wait a bit.
Quiana May 16, 2022 @ 8:21am
Hi @MrKociak
How does this mod play with Xenobionic patcher? I have it in to allow me to replace animal limbs, but I'm assuming if this mod works as described that it essentially is using the same kind of system? That would mean I could drop in favor of this for that, I would assume (since yours includes tails/extras).
OptimusPrimordial May 16, 2022 @ 8:21am
Thanks!
MrKociak  [author] May 16, 2022 @ 7:39am
@OptimusPrimordial Okey dokey then, I'll take a look into AN later today. Pretty sure only a few animals will require new replacements (most use "normal" body parts) so it hopefully won't take long.
OptimusPrimordial May 16, 2022 @ 6:49am
I have a need and a demand for alpha animals parts. They make for the best defensive animals but that means a lot of injuries.
