If that's all it takes to make a mod for it, I might eventually have a go at it myself. That said, I agree. Would be nice if Zark let us use sliders for this, but with added 'disclaimers' about performance issues on larger map sizes. I quite enjoy seeing a ton of empires duking it out and trying to navigate the even messier diplomacy of dealing with 3 dozen factions at once.
I tried allocating more RAM in the config.jason file, but it didn't even boot.
Loading a bigger map may cause the program to go unresponsive, don't close it yet- it may still load in with patience (go get a coffee and a snack).
The program never used more than 2GB RAM but did push the CPU thread it's running on, so a better/modern CPU will help (Specifically a better single thread performance).
Running it in windowed mode when first loading the map also helps.
1. Grid size (2x2, 12x12, etc.)
2. Number of Empires (Including Player Empire)
3. Number of Towns per Empire (Default is 3 per empire)
4. Number of Nests (Monster Spawns)
