@routineTree3 would you be ok with letting someone else index it? Im not sure what it would take exactly but there are definitely people that would love to see this MAP indexed. Alive would really bring this map full circle in my opinion.

the lihting on the map is completel bugged for me. There is blue fog and I can only see like 5 meters. Any solutions?

I tried indexing it by myself, with no success. I'll be glad if somebody could share the index files.

@RoutineTree3 do you expect to index Mandol for Alive in the near future? And by the way, I love this map, it's obvious that it was made with care and looking for details, great job.

@!Czarny Wilk! I added some images at the end that show the north and terminal gate. The screenshot for the north gate is a bit rough so I had to make due. That gate is mainly for large volume of traffic and for large vehicles, hence the complexity. The arrows are color coated: Blue means entry, Red means exit, and Green means military only. hope that helps, I recommend saving those as I will probably delete them later

This map is best choice for playin Afghanistan, but it's not finished. When is the new update scheduled? This date is important for me because i want to play this map in my coop-realism server.

Great map. It's not finish, but could become the best Afghanistan map. Villages are still empty of objects, but I am sure you will do a great job. Map perfect for fix and rotary wings.

I've only played on this map for a few minutes but I already found something I love - you can cross-over the low white walls without having to press "V" - nice touch. Looking forward to many hours battling over your terrain mate. :steamthumbsup:

Jesus H. Christ, @RoutineTree3, I've been exploring Mandol this evening and it is incredible. From quad biking up the rocky mountain tracks to exploring the villages in the high valleys and flying through the mountains in the back of a Chinook it's just been amazing. This map is a work of art and I can't praise you enough for your efforts. Thank you!

Also, the areas with Pine are more saturated. Its to add a deeper earthier tone while not having vibrant colors stick out. Its not completely noticeable but if you look at the difference for a while you can start to see it, i guess that is kinda of good thing as it shouldn't look out of place.

Something also deceptive about sat maps in general is the sure density of pine forest from above, 'usually' under the forest (for arid forest specifically) is mostly dead pine needles and branches. This area of Afghanistan, which is not temperate in climate, is more akin to Stratis and Altis or Northern California than the wetter regions of Afghanistan. Doesn't mean there are times of the year that grass does rule, but it isn't the majority of the time.

The color is biased off of the sat images and some ground images of the Mandol specific region and some of the surrounding areas, mixed with my own personal experience with pine forest in the summer. CLAfghan does take a more rocky tone to their textures and is also a lot more generic in their forestry (not really using pines). But, because they are more generic with their rocky texture it is not as accurate. If you have seen the movie Lone Survivor, that movie takes place in roughly the same few valleys as CLAfghan. Neither can be a totally accurate depiction of the area but it shows the disparity. I did add some all around rocky-nes to the sat map, but more specifically to the mountain peaks.

Yo man! i was looking at some old pictures of Mandol and the surrounding areas of Nuristan, and the color of the ground is much more of a greenish, dark green or even grey dustish color, depending on time of year, instead of the bright yellow sandy color you used that's more commonly found in parts of western and southern afghanistan. not sure if that's one of your design choices, or something you plan on fixing.

just to balance out the criticism with some compliments, your object placing is immaculate. i particularly like your choice of vegetations, like the conifer trees you used and the layout of the villages in the mountains.

if you'd like an arma example of accurate nuristani ground texture, i'd suggest taking a look at clafghan, which has perfected the greenish grey color hybrid found in nuristan, the pech and kunar. just a suggestion though.

i'm not a map maker, so i don't know if changing the satmap would be a painful endeavour. in any case, keep up the good work :)
