Cool visuals. Really loved how you used the secret room for the surprise Vortigaunt attack.

@Tubular hehehe, told you not to cheat, it's not a bug. It's a way to stop people from nocliping into the ester egg room.

this is really pretty, I love it. It was frustrating at times (A couple times accidentally stepped on a faithplate and was catapulted into the water so I had to start over, but other than that it was a really pleasant experience. Great job!

Hammer Editor, you can get Portal 2 autoring tools for free if you buy Portal 2 on Steam.
DigitalMunkee Aug 29, 2017 @ 5:32pm

Ich_Flo00 Aug 27, 2017 @ 1:30pm
Really awesome style. Never have I ever before felt the need to save my progress that often in one chamber.

Why does this only have 300 votes?

I was surprised there weren't any keys hidden in the faith plate tunnel. To get there I had to use the normal cube to climb up to the tunnel exit and block it, then enter the usual way. It's possible to then crawl through one (and only one) of the square gaps in the wall and slip outside, but I needed to take the cube with me to explore around a corner or get back out of the wall.

I took two screenshots while I was there.

KaiDev Jul 14, 2015 @ 4:20pm
also if anyone want's to know where the keys are then heres the locations: first key is next to the area that the launch pad closest to the door is launches you, other two are up in that area that opens when you place the cube on the button or basicly the area where you get the reflection cubeone on the other side of the hole with the yellow-ish light at the bottom and the other is in a hole on the wall where you place the cube to disable the light bridge

@DeathWish808

Thank you for playing, I really appreciate it.
Will watch the video when its up!

As i remember i made a teleport trigger to prevent people from noclipping inside the secret room, just like in "Memory Loss 2" map. :D:
DeathWish808 Mar 25, 2015 @ 7:01pm
Very nice looking map. The puzzle should not be defined as Super Hard though. I'd say easy for experienced players, medium for the average, and hard to impossible for n00bs. I give the "impossible" rating for those players because they probably won't know the cube jump and grab into funnel portion. And some people have a hard time doing it even if they know about it.

Anyway, I'm going to try to find the rest of the Easter eggs, but I don't think there's a secret room. I'm fairly certain that it's the one with the hearts in front of it. ;-)

Bottom line... very well done custom hammer map using custom "things". I hope you enjoy watching my blind run and dying a lot for no good reason. haha

This map is very great. :D Not super difficulty. Nice!

This was a great map. Not super difficult, but the art style was interesting. Keep up the good work. :3

Thanks but i'm moving to UDK

Not as difficult as advertised, but interesting nonetheless. Nice ambiance created by custom visuals and appropriate background music. Look forward to more of your maps.

@Haggis
Thank you for the review.
I was so obsessed with Mirrors Edge art style .. i totally forgot about the gameplay and puzzle. I just wanted to make something pretty.

Won't make that mistake again.
TonToE Jul 14, 2014 @ 2:31pm
As a puzzle, the map is quite simple and didn't use any tricky puzzly manuvers, or Ninja skills (but that's a good thing). The whole map was pretty linear and pretty much told you where to go and what to do, But what made me like this map is the amount of eye candy this map contains. Just about everything used custom textures and well placed geomety that gives a very similar feel to that of Mirrors Edge. The map itself shows how much effort you put into all the aesthetics. One of the only things that was difficult though, was the easter egg. Finding all the items was more rewarding to the player than completing the map.

I would rate:
4/10 puzzle (get cubes - open door)
9/10 aesthetics and atmosphere (So pretty)
6/10 level design (No getting stuck, but was pretty linear)

I would suggest making the laser button more visible, it's in a dark corridor and took me ages to know it existed.
Haggis Jul 14, 2014 @ 10:07am
As a mapper myself, i know exactly how much work goes ito maps like these, so i would like to congratulate on the effort you put in to make such a beautiful map, i loved it. As for a lot of the comments about how hard the map is, you put in your comments right at the start that it was super hard, any average Portal player should have left it alone. Please dont take these negative comments to heart and keep mapping for Portal. I found 1 key and 1 light, going to play it again to see if i can find the other 4. Great work.

Ohh Ohh i know... Build a test th-that looks l-ll-ikeSPAAAAAAAACE!
URMarty  [author] Jun 8, 2014 @ 8:32am
fair enough

Sorry but I don't like this map because the first step of the puzzle was too annoying and bothering. You seem to have spent quite a lot of time on making this map, but this would have been quite a great map, if you had made the puzzle more intersting and acessible.
URMarty  [author] May 13, 2014 @ 7:31pm
@wildgoosespeeder

Thanks for the review but stop advertising shit srsly.
The Sojourner Apr 30, 2014 @ 8:37pm
I'll just conclude my commentary by saying that there's no second chance to make a first impression, and since life's short, it's the first impression that'll stick with most people (and we know how the first impression was).

I feel sorry for this map, really I do.
URMarty  [author] Apr 30, 2014 @ 1:57pm
"Do not Noclip, this MAY break around 4 env_projectedtexture entities and around 30 ambient_generic entities. "
Apr 30, 2014 @ 1:57pm
This is just critism (YES I KNOW IT'S SPELLED WRONG)

Design: 10/10
Difficulty: 3.5 for experienced players; 9.75 for less experienced or noobs (not good)
Props, detail, and puzzle design: 8.95

Overall: 6.95
This map was close to an average score (a 7), but since it's hard, and that difficulty should be balenced for the less experienced people, this doesn't cater for them. I know this is not meant to be cheaten, and that it's really hard, but 6.95 is good enough for this map.
Apr 30, 2014 @ 1:53pm
Uh...what would be the result if I DID noclip? Would I break the whole map?
URMarty  [author] Apr 30, 2014 @ 5:57am
@p0rtalmaster
Apparently a lot of people dislike this just because it's not "Portal style", this is completely normal.
I did chose the wrong game for mapping so fair enough ;3

A lot of people were saying this map is only possible to finish with a speedrun wich is not true, thats why i had to put this in the description.
"DO NOT NEED TO SPEEDRUN TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE."

Thank you so much for the feedback (;
The Sojourner Apr 29, 2014 @ 8:18pm
*continues to cheer you on* This map continues to be great; no major complaints this time :D

For the Portal 2 purists: please give this map a second chance! Portal 2 isn't entirely about puzzles; there's other apsects to it as well. In this case, the test chamber is more than anything a showcase of art (like any Hammer-made Portal 2 map should be).

Minor complaints (take a deep breath if you need...these aren't major and are meant to be constructive):
> As an experienced player, I didn't find this map too hard. I would say the test itself is easy-medium (medium-hard for less experienced players); finding the keys for the easter egg is much harder.
> Did you use any env_soundscapes in your map? They might help eliminate some ambient_generic entities.

(BTW I'll admit I don't even own ME yet...but somehow you've got me interested...)
