Thanks, this map i made in 2014 , wish i had time to make more maps for this game, now it's work work work.
Hammer Editor, you can get Portal 2 autoring tools for free if you buy Portal 2 on Steam.
I took two screenshots while I was there.
i cant enter the test
eatch time i grab the portal gun im sent to an orringe and black room were i die
WTF??
Thank you for playing, I really appreciate it.
Will watch the video when its up!
As i remember i made a teleport trigger to prevent people from noclipping inside the secret room, just like in "Memory Loss 2" map.
Anyway, I'm going to try to find the rest of the Easter eggs, but I don't think there's a secret room. I'm fairly certain that it's the one with the hearts in front of it. ;-)
Bottom line... very well done custom hammer map using custom "things". I hope you enjoy watching my blind run and dying a lot for no good reason. haha
Blind run: https://youtu.be/woXJgG3hMMo (Youttube us still processing at the time of this comment. 1080P when done.)
Thanks but i'm moving to UDK
Thanks for the review
Thank you for the review.
I was so obsessed with Mirrors Edge art style .. i totally forgot about the gameplay and puzzle. I just wanted to make something pretty.
Won't make that mistake again.
I would rate:
4/10 puzzle (get cubes - open door)
9/10 aesthetics and atmosphere (So pretty)
6/10 level design (No getting stuck, but was pretty linear)
I would suggest making the laser button more visible, it's in a dark corridor and took me ages to know it existed.
Thanks for the review but stop advertising shit srsly.
I feel sorry for this map, really I do.
Design: 10/10
Difficulty: 3.5 for experienced players; 9.75 for less experienced or noobs (not good)
Props, detail, and puzzle design: 8.95
Overall: 6.95
This map was close to an average score (a 7), but since it's hard, and that difficulty should be balenced for the less experienced people, this doesn't cater for them. I know this is not meant to be cheaten, and that it's really hard, but 6.95 is good enough for this map.
Apparently a lot of people dislike this just because it's not "Portal style", this is completely normal.
I did chose the wrong game for mapping so fair enough ;3
A lot of people were saying this map is only possible to finish with a speedrun wich is not true, thats why i had to put this in the description.
"DO NOT NEED TO SPEEDRUN TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE."
Thank you so much for the feedback (;
For the Portal 2 purists: please give this map a second chance! Portal 2 isn't entirely about puzzles; there's other apsects to it as well. In this case, the test chamber is more than anything a showcase of art (like any Hammer-made Portal 2 map should be).
Minor complaints (take a deep breath if you need...these aren't major and are meant to be constructive):
> As an experienced player, I didn't find this map too hard. I would say the test itself is easy-medium (medium-hard for less experienced players); finding the keys for the easter egg is much harder.
> Did you use any env_soundscapes in your map? They might help eliminate some ambient_generic entities.
(BTW I'll admit I don't even own ME yet...but somehow you've got me interested...)
10/10
GGGGGRRREEEEAAAATTTT hammer work, one of the most amazing maps I've played.
