azerGhost: I believe you just need a religious presence though I don't remember 100% for sure. I know it should be the same as vanilla beliefs that have a population requirement,
AzerGhost Sep 29, 2024 @ 4:36pm
For the Faith Preaching follower belief, do you need to have the majority religion in that city to get the yield or only a religious presence?
Justin Jun 17, 2024 @ 11:35am
could probably use an update but thanks for uploading

Hey thanks for the compliment - it means a lot :steamhappy:

Creation Story Glitch
(From Dr. Oz The Great And Powerful)

I tested this and the belief itself works its just the name Description for the belief is showing the Text Key instead of the name for some reason so if I ever update this mod I'll make sure to fix it but I'm probably not going to issue a patch just for that. (I mean the mod still works better than like any Ubisoft game...)

Belief Ideas
(From nicovallejos)

Some decent belief ideas have been suggested so if I'm able to do an update I'll try to incorporate some of them. Religion specific beliefs are not a thing in Civ5 though (although I wish they were).

Mind is God is weak
(From Jedi Yadiyada)
(also here's a late thanks for the compliment to the mod :steamhappy:)

When I first made this belief it was stronger but then people complained it was too strong so I nerfed it and people said it was too weak so I found a middle ground between the two which is the way the belief is now. This belief seems to be the most controversial belief in this pack because every seems to think it should be stronger or weaker than each other but I think I like where the belief ended up. I do appreciate all the feedback I've gotten on this belief though.

So long story short I've kind of sick for a *very* long time and kind of fell off of modding and responding to comments and such so I figured I address a few things people commented (even though some of those comments are like years old) in one comment (three comments actually cos of the character limit...) just cos I'm feeling a little better recently.

Adding More Culture Boosts
(From ian.m.reed)

I guess come to think of it there could be more culture beliefs. I don't have any specific ideas for any but if I'm ever able to get back into modding I'll think about trying to add some.

biggie_boss Jun 7, 2021 @ 10:09am
I don't think people realize how good this mod is. It's the only one I've seen that adds enhancer, founder and reformation beliefs. Keep up the good work!

Bob:
Merci Beaucoup!

Je connais un peu le français alors j'ai décidé d'essayer de traduire ce mod. (This sentence I used help from google translate so hopefully it makes sense lol)
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] Jun 4, 2021 @ 10:29am
turner: it should be because this only adds new beliefs it doesn't really change anything so it should work with other belief mods
{442}Ryuu Turner Feb 27, 2021 @ 3:13pm
Is this mod compatible with other belief expansion mods?
Fulgrim Dec 1, 2019 @ 1:50am
Enfin un Français lol sinon super mod.
nicovallejos Jun 13, 2018 @ 11:56pm
I hope the mod needs to be updated; It is in need of more follower beliefs:

Stupas: Allows you to purchase Stupas with faith (+4 happiness) (buddhism)
Mandirs: Allows you to purchase Mandirs with faith (+1 faith, +1 happiness) (hinduism)
Torrii Gate: Allows you to purchase Torrii Gates with faith (+1 faith, +1 science) (shintoism)
Gurdwaras: Allows you to purchase Gurdwaras with faith (+2 faith, +1 culture) (sikhism)
Confucian Academies: Allows you to purchase Confucian academies with faith (+3 happiness, +3 science)
Fire temples: Allows you to purchase Fire temples with faith (+4 culture, +2 faith) (zoroastrianism)
Churches: Allows you to purchase churches with faith (+1 faith, +2 production)
Filial piety: +5 culture (Confucianism exclusive)
Way of the warrior: Military Units earn 20% more XP from combat (Shintoism exclusive)
Ab-zohr: +3 faith, +2 culture, +2 happiness (Zoroastrianism exclusive)
Theurgy: +1 science for every two followers

more to be added...

creation story is glitched
sarasosio Sep 22, 2017 @ 7:09pm
I've noticed that the first AI to acheive a pantheon belief always chooses Monument to the Gods. A little annoying as your only chance to get it for yourself is if you activate ancient ruins.
Jedi Yadiyada Feb 15, 2017 @ 1:36am
ver cool mod. Mind is God is very weak
ian.m.reed Jan 24, 2017 @ 5:07pm
I like this mod. However, could you add more culture boosts to better display religious impact on world culture.
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] Jan 15, 2017 @ 11:35am
This adds to the old ones
Chip Jan 15, 2017 @ 10:23am
does this add stuff to the old ones or remove the old ones? im not so bright but i'll guess it say something about this somewhere
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] Dec 8, 2016 @ 9:54am
(Steam made me do three posts...)

First off let me say some of these are late replies so I apologize for that.

Jihad does not mean war but I would view it as the spreading of Islam (which is still a narrow definition).

This has often enough been done via war/terrorism/persecution, being why we associate Jihad with Holy Wars, but it can also be spreading Islamic culture/faith to the non-Islamic by verbal means or cultural pressure.

I gave it a culture bonus to show the expansive nature of Jihad, if you will: it lets you grow your borders faster and helps you dominate other's cultures (although you can only do the latter in BNW).

White-Wing Death Squads
I'm sure it would have nothing to do w/ BlouBlou's mod and must be a compatibility issue with one of JFD's. I would (just for good measure) try this by itself and make sure that everything is showing up and then try to play around with the other mods your using to find the compatibility issue. If there is one I can (probably) fix it.

Well, ziggurats are already in game but synagogues are doable if I get around to it.
There is a mod here that already adds 'em though: Israel New Beliefs - might be worth a try.
Dr. Oz The Great And Powerful Dec 7, 2016 @ 8:38pm
Can you add some historical religious buildings like synagogues and ziggurats?
Queen Victoria's Top Guy Nov 23, 2016 @ 6:28pm
I'm not sure all of the beliefs are showing up. I'm using BlouBlou's beliefs expansion and all of JFD's gameplay mods.
TY Oct 9, 2016 @ 4:49am
Jihad should give a bonus for war, I don't understand why it boosts culture instead
Lord Setting Jun 19, 2016 @ 7:02am
Skytrout: About the Jungle Belief , to be fair , a Full jungle settlement is a stupidly slow start
And not to mention crushingly bad on Deity
Skytrout Jun 16, 2016 @ 11:51am
+2 faith from jungles is really overpowered. +1 would be enough. Settled in the Amazon and totally broke the faith game. Other than that great beliefs.
Darktrooper119 Jun 9, 2016 @ 11:21am
oh dear not that fix again. I was hoping to avoid having to do it again since it takes a GOD AWFUL long time to resub/redownload all my mods.:Nepgear: ah well. not your fault. ill look around a bit and see if i can fix it. (incidentally, my steam just started a Civ V workshop content download. fingers crossed)
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] Jun 6, 2016 @ 9:35am
Darktrooper119:
The workshop is finicky like that, unfortunately; I've had similar problems with mods not downloading or disappearing when you update them.

In any event, this Discussion outlines a fix which has worked for me.

I've copied in the important part:
Nysa wrote:
Unsubscribe from all mods, then delete the Cache-Folder, start Civ5 again and subscribe to the mods from within the ingame-browser. The game should start downloading them then. However, the game doesn't show mods until they're done downloading, so if you're downloading big mods they will take a while to show up. Just give the game some time (1-2 Minutes if the mods are >1mb), don't un- and re-sub all the time, that might screw up your download.

If that doesn't work, you could try the solution in post #9. Also, in my experience, sometimes you just have leave the mod list open for a minute or 2 before it starts doing anything.
Darktrooper119 Jun 5, 2016 @ 6:51pm
I hit update on your mod, it disappeared from my list and never came back. checked my MODS folder and it was gone as well. tried unsubscribing/subscribing. nothing.
MosileZ May 30, 2016 @ 4:25pm
Ok thanks, i was thrown off there
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] May 30, 2016 @ 7:35am
Mosile: You have to have a citizen working the tile to get the benefit so that might be it...if you have 12 citizens working all of the forest tiles in your city then there must be a glitch.
MosileZ May 30, 2016 @ 3:11am
Do forest tiles for Vision Quest have to be improved somehow? I have 12 tile that are Forest I'm only making two or three or four Faith per turn.
Lord Setting May 25, 2016 @ 4:17pm
thanks
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] May 25, 2016 @ 4:15pm
basically, for each battle 15% of the enemy's combat strength is converted to faith. The G@ks belief: God of War grants 50% for comparision
Lord Setting May 25, 2016 @ 3:50pm
Also ... how is the math for Holy Annihilation calulated anyway
Lord Setting May 25, 2016 @ 3:47pm
Emperor of Awesomeness: Very well i understand what your getting at
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] May 23, 2016 @ 5:09pm
New update also adds French localization. Yay! :steamhappy: Unless I screwed it up some how. Which may be...(lol?...) :steamfacepalm: :steamsad:
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] May 23, 2016 @ 5:08pm
Lord Setting:
One True Faith has to stay an Enhancer belief as it does Enhancer stuff. I don't really think it's (that} OP but I debuffed it anyway.

Also, the Reformation beliefs have to stay that way cuz they do reformation stuff. I think they are useful and certainly moreso than: Sacred Sites, Religious Fervor, and Heathen Conversion. Also I don't get Piety policies just for the Reformation belief cuz the Policies' benefits are good. Especially if you like building Holy Sites. And on Prince/King I always have more Culture than Policies I care about the Culture cost is not really an issue for me. The beliefs are in line with Jesuit Education but I realize the Buildings that Jesuit Education deals with are "more important" so I did buff my new beliefs a little.

people person:
I wish I could but it’s over my head. Doing something like tithe, I've tried, and for some reason can't be done in XML or SQL.

Lord Ursus:
Thanks for telling me; I just fixed it.
Phylactus May 21, 2016 @ 10:16am
To Defend God's Word won't let me purchase Walls and such either. But they still give a Faith each. Could you fix this, do you think?
Phylactus May 18, 2016 @ 6:52am
I'm unable to buy Barracks with faith when I use To Spread God's Word, but it still gives Production.
HotStreakGames Apr 3, 2016 @ 1:52pm
Could you make one just with a few more founder beliefs? Ideally, a couple similar to tithe, except for something that isnt gold.
Lord Setting Apr 1, 2016 @ 8:21pm
Emperor of Awesomeness if i may sugest two changes

I personally think "One True Faith" just gives player way to much benafit as a Enhancer Belief i mean suriously the equal of ( albeit weeker ) 4 Beliefs in 1. If that was a reformation i could easly call that reasonable in the base game mainly because you would be commiting 4 policies into Piety.

As for the the new Reformations I think a lot of people would agree with me on this, that there is just no real good reason to justify sac-ing 4 policies into Piety to get one of these relatively lackluster new reforms At least I don't see it

On the Flip side however i don't really see the new reformations turning imbalanced if you were to make them into enhancer beliefs
IAmTheMistake Feb 22, 2016 @ 2:17pm
Okay, thats awesome!
I played a little bit and they're a nice touch to the game, good work with the balancing!
Emperor of Awesomeness  [author] Feb 22, 2016 @ 2:08pm
this adds to base beliefs
IAmTheMistake Feb 21, 2016 @ 5:37pm
Sooo... does this add or replace the base beliefs?
Unoriginal Username Dec 12, 2015 @ 4:57pm
thanks pal! my friend and I have used this for ages. It is a must have mod that really adds options to the game, especially for AI who never choose anything good.

Chinese Cartoons:
From reading the forum page for the mod manager I've found out that it does not support SQL files. This would be the problem since the last update made this mod all SQL-y .

Apperently, there is a tool, found here [forums.civfanatics.com], that does support SQL mods :steamhappy: but isn't all too user friendly :steamsad:.

I hope that helps.
