@mike, sry this mod will not be updated. currently there is also a bug fixed version 2.1 with a few extra features (use wood as fuel for example). You can seemless change this 2.0 to the newer version: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3107853072

About the tribe limit I cant say for sure, you would need to test it by yourself. Best way to disable the shield on some certain maps is just to disable the mod itself.

Also feature request can you please PLEASE add a UI element that allows us to enter the radius in a text field If you are using custom settings the current radial does not allow sane adjustments

@hidace: your error description actually says exactly that, that you are not allowed to place a Safebase item, hmm...
Sry, I can't reproduce this with my server. To be on the safe side, make sure that you have a Tribe and that there really aren't any duplicate Safebases hidden around somewhere. also make sure that your build limit isn't exhausted and note that the Safebase item must also be a certain distance away from another base. hope that helps.

What would not allow me to place the shield generator. The limit is set to one but I haven't placed one yet and it's green like I can place it but when I click it just disappears.

@tall_poteto: there is a configuration setting (TribeLimit=1) in the game.ini, which tells you how many safebase shields you can set per tribe. you have to change this.

@Eclipse The Dargon: I know this behavior, that the babies are pushed out of the shield for 1-2s after birth (and therefore jump a few meters away from the hatching site), I also had 1-2 years ago. However, I could no longer observe this behavior on my cluster anymore... srry The solution at that time was simply to build a few walls, i.e. not to let the eggs hatch unprotected (using the "egg incubator").

@Dinofyfy: First, make sure you add the config to your GameUserSettings.ini (at the bottom of your settings).

[SafeBase]
ShieldSizeMult=1.0
TribeLimit=1
MinOpacity=0.50
MaxOpacity=0.80

This will set a minimum opacity of 0.50%, which is usually a good value. The advantage is that you do not have to change the value in the frontend menu.

The ingame setting is a bit buggy and can sometimes cause the client to crash. I know, but I could not fix it.

i need a little bit of help because everytime i activate the shield it wont show so its invisible maybe i overread something but after i wanted to change the opacity setting (after pressing on opacity) the game just crashed

@Shinjo Sho, sorry for the delayed response to your question.

Currently, I can't implement a higher magnification or an "auto increase" feature like in the S+ version. I'm lacking the necessary knowledge at the moment, and primarily the time to delve into it. The mod is open-source, so if anyone wants to contribute an update with more features, I'd be happy to take a look!

As of now, the mod is what it is. If a future ARK update creates a major issue, I would certainly invest the time to fix it, as my own small cluster (www.bukanier.org) also relies on it.

I'm aware that the user interface is currently very poor. That's why I recommend setting it up via the configuration file and setting the desired size as the default. This way, you can go directly to the maximum size with just one click. However, if you want the luxury of having multiple sizes, it will become cumbersome, sorry.

I love your mod, i always blind with shield graphic around the base, and trouble to adjust all shield to cover the base. But when i put large number of shieldsizemulti (5 in my case to cover all base area, this result 40+ range). The problem is when i want to adjust shield size for other base area it's become very annoying since we can adjust only 0.2 each time and adjust bar is not auto increase number like s+shield generator that you can hold direction on adjust bar to keep increasing number. In safebase menu you need to put in 0.2 then it force to exit, enter menu > choose radius > choose increase radious for 0.2 again and repeat. If you want to adjust distance like 20 you need to repeat all progress 100 times form 1 to 20. Can you add setting for how much number you want to increase each time? So i can make it to 1 to speed up increase/decrease range progress. since i really not mind much very detail range like 0.1. =)

@axl, the shield itself is a structure too! Thats why if your greenhouse effect goes down, when you build too near to the shield. but if you leave a few foundation distance, there is no interference

@MeoWmazik, you can't. sually this is not needed, because the safebase is indestructible, so to speak. only when you have animals on the edge and modded animals with massive AOE damage, it is a bit tricky.

A few recommendations and feedbacks.

1. Areal damage
I would not recommend placing animals directly on the edge of the shield. I was told that especially with mods where the animals do oversized damage, it can also hit animals at the shield edge. In addition, a few Turrerts are always recommended inside the shield.

2. User interface opacity
The GUI is indeed to set the opacity is unattractive and difficult to use. In any case I would recommend to integerate the settings published under disscussions in the GUS. A crash I had some time ago also, but since the last patches I could not reproduced this anymore (even not as an admin user).

3. Support is always welcome
A customization of the GUI is currently not possible (not enough experience in Ark Devkit), but if someone would like to improve this, he can use the source code and submit me an patch/update.

Additional info : You may crash if you change opacity while you are as admin. if admin is disabled on you all working.

When you try change opacity it crashes the game. Otherwise it seems still working. If this mot is not supported, server cofig needs to adjust the default opacity to still see the range and not so distracting for worldwise view.

just create on the buttom of your GameUserSettings.ini something like this (this will allow a double sized safebase shield, compared to the normal tek shield)

In which part of "GameUserSettings.ini" file must copy paste needed configuration, since am having issues with game not loading no matter where I have placed it. Top, middle, bottom. Is there any specific section of that "ini" file under which I must place this configuration ?

you do not need to unlock any tek engram.. the default is, that this engram is available with level 0. you just have to learn the engram (unter engrams; may search for safebase) and then you can craft one safebase shield (it needs a bit wood, thatch, sparkpowder, paste, etcetera).

*** be aware it looks the same as a forcefield, but the name starts with safebase ***

theoretically you could modify your game.ini to autounlock the engram, see here https://github.com/LotekHeavy/SafeBase/blob/master/README.md#auto-unlock

Hey there, sorry for the stupid question but when I add this mod to the server, the engram for it shows up as greyed out, like it hasn't been unlocked . I have put the above configuration into the GamesUserSetting and also have Auto Engrams installed.

Is there away for this to be auto-unlocked so we don't require the tek for it?

@seifSsj5 can't reproduce this. possible problems:
1) do you maybe have placed more then in your config are allowed? (e.g first allow 2 shields, placed 2 shields and then revert the config to only one shield)

2) your shield is nearly invisible, you may set the min/max opacity to highter value, like:
