@Into Recently I was able to scan several planets by MajorTom (Orlunda, Teal etc) using a downward facing Camera while landed, to enter them into it's database. Some other planets by others as well. You need to be within 15km to scan.

@r4v1n6 yes I always have scripts on, and many other scripts show up in the programmable block, this one never does, I will try again after unsubscribing and subscribing again

@Spiros It's not a mod but a script that can run in a Programmable Block somewhere on your ship (preferably on the main grid). To use scripts they have to be enabled in settings. Out of the box when starting a new world, they are often disabled.

It seems im the only one having this problem I dont see anyone else mentioning it.

I simply can not get this script to show up in game, and if it's a mod, the mod does not show up in my available subscribed mods.

@tonone not sure if this help but I managed to add Orlunda (same author I think) by scanning using a downward facing camera after landing. Make sure the camera has the [Scan Cam] suffix and turn off any other scripts that do raycasts (or exlude that particular camera) when scanning.

How can i add planet to this system? i trying use chart but scan missed every time. My planet is spawn by creative at random x,y,z and im thinking how can i add it. Planet Satreus

trying to figure out how to import GPS - i HAve a lcd with [Import] but after RUN Import_Waypoints nothing gets imported. Any help on that ?

Great script! I was wondering, when combined with someone else's compass mod, do the map and the compass mod agree on where north/south will be, is that encoded in the game data? I had the impression it was swapped.

Just came here to add that I figured out the map of my custom planet generated by this script is flipped 180 degrees upside down. I can rotate the LCD display output and waypoints appear in the correct directions; however, the font is now inverted. O.o

@UN Warkeeper make sure your camera has an unobstructed view of the voxels beneath it.

I ran into a slight problem with charting custom planets. The planet map's equator is in the wrong place. This is slightly worse than it sounds because all of the cardinal directions are in random positions and so when recording your waypoints, you don't get an accurate representation of where things are. Essentially the map points you in the wrong direction.
Example: My station in the Florida panhandle on Terra (Custom Earth planet) shows up on the map somewhere far south of the equator. So a waypoint that is actually southwest of this station appears to be northwest of the station.

Is there a way to display detected ships entering a planets orbit with this? Perhaps in conjunction with Whips Radar or something? That would be extremely useful for those with interstellar missiles and the such, or even to get warnings for incoming enemy attacks.

Hi! Been trying to chart planets with the SCAN_PLANET command however, even if i am literally 500 meters from it i keep getting the SCAN MISSED message. The camera is pointed at the planet, any ideas?

Hi SJ_Omega!

Firstly great work on this script!

I'm having a bit of trouble with the PLOT_JUMP command, it keeps saying "Unrecognised Command" ? I have completely deleted everything including the PB and started again but the issue still persists.

I am using the following command (without the quotes) for example:

"PLOT_JUMP MARS"

But it says "Unrecognised Command".

Any Ideas?

Im noticing that this script don't work to well with super-sized planets lol, at least not when up close to a planet, haven't tried moving further away yet but it seems like the map view is just too small even when zoomed all the way out? either that or it doesn't quite want to register it at all, I'm using the large planets plug-in and the planet I just mapped has a diameter of 300km which is 2.5x that of the max planet size in SE. The name of the planet shows up but nothing else, no color, no outline, nothing

I setup a blueprint wit two PB, one is for the 3D map Script, the other for the SDS-OS Script. Place a projector on a Small Rotor head and load the blueprint in, weld it and follow the Instruktion on the PB LCD.

Hey, I'm having a hard typing setting up button consoles for different LCD screens using the same programmable block. What is the command/argument that i need to type to for different screens? Ive tried CENTER_SHIP MAP_NUMBER(1) but nothing along those lines seem to work.

I've got modded planets, is there a possibility to let it auto map a solar system? I used the Solar System Generator and it gave me waypoints of planets and sizes from center of the planet. The guide while very comprehensive left me confused

Two things:

First, I see that with each display, there is a list of displayed planets- Is it possible to hide planets on certain screens?

Second, I ran into an issue where I was using this script to display Nexus instance borders- meaning the planet size was set to a ridiculous size (15000000). This worked beautifully for a couple of days, but now does not display the sphere, only the 'planet' name. I would have assumed that I simply ran into the max planet size, as the problem resolves when decreasing the planet size by an order of magnitude or so, but I literally have screenshots of the same config working the other day. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

Hi, I am having issues with changing the view on several LCDs. I have a control setup to e.g. change mode if I execute that only one of my 8 LCDs gets updated. How do I make all LCDs update?

I have the problem that in a booth I cannot put two screens, only one, I have checked 3 different booths by changing the index and I have 3 with different screens. Any solution to have the two screens in the cabin?

@Surdon I'm not entirely certain. I mainly tested this in single player, but I tried to make it as efficient as possible. Some of the heavier recurring operations are only called every 5 cycles or so. I'm about to release a major update, so I'll make sure I include a low-refresh option in there.

How server friendly is this? I would love to map the Sigma Draconis system, but I doubt the refresh rate will let me. Can we get an option to reduce the refresh rate?

Omega, your system is still wonderful, I see others have noticed too leading to much deserved success and of course increasing popularity.

Have you considered adding an icon and support for Stargate? Along with that the code for dialing systems is very small and most likely could be added. It could be possible to flip through gates and run something like DIAL, DIAL_(map#) or DIAL_(gate address).

Thank you again for your work on this, I found it when it was days old and seeing its growth now I know for sure my intuition that this script will become one of the most popular in the game was correct.

I just tested all cases I'v reported. I couldn't find any issues with 1.22 ver while testing. Thx for your effort to fix. :)
