Great change. Thanks. :steamthumbsup:

@Daddy Kaneki
OK, cool

@Dragon32

It was actually a mod launcher issue. I closed the game and reopened it, made sure the mod was active and it was fixed.
Dragon32 May 3 @ 8:28am
@Daddy Kaneki
It does so I'd guess you've another mod also editing the localisation entries for repeaters
Kaneki <3 Cheryl May 3 @ 6:32am
Is it normal that this doesn't change the in-game tooltip of Repeaters? It still says 5% chance to instakill.
Jeff GoldBlum Mar 5 @ 12:39am
is this mod safe to remove mid- campaign?
Dragon32 Oct 15, 2024 @ 7:06am
@Epic Dovahkiin
Load order isn't really a thing in XCOM 2 modding. You could set locally installed mods to load after or before Workshop ones but that's about it for a mod user.
Epic Dovahkiin Oct 14, 2024 @ 10:03pm
so i assume if we use the correct load order of this before TS it'll have a chance to retain concealment and crit damage boost or am i wrong? (also btw i absolutely LAOTHED the fact repeaters were instakill so better repeaters and TS are godsends of mods that change them in new and better ways)
Bardagh Jan 25, 2024 @ 10:59am
Could/would you make a version of this for overwatch damage, like the Better Hair Triggers mod but for repeaters?
Landar486 Feb 28, 2023 @ 3:36pm
ah I actively go out of my way to not use repeaters. thanks to you & DerBK for this alternative.
Bunbun May 26, 2021 @ 11:25am
@veehementia No problem, thank you for clearing things up.
Veehementia  [author] May 26, 2021 @ 10:43am
@Bunbun Actually, I'm sorry, that was incorrect of me. My earlier comment stands, they can work together, but only with the proper load order or with the proper WSR configuration.

Sorry again - been a while since I modded XCOM 2 and got confused. Apologies.
Bunbun May 26, 2021 @ 10:15am
@Veehementia Oh I see, I was reading the old comments and thought there was a way they could be used together. Thank you for the response.
Veehementia  [author] May 26, 2021 @ 9:47am
@Bunbun There is no "possible" conflict with Tactical Suppressors, this mod is straight up not compatible with it. They both modify the same thing in wildly different ways.
Bunbun May 26, 2021 @ 8:53am
Really want to use this mod but the possible conflict with tactical suppressors is keeping me from subbing. Don't really want to mess around with mods to have it in the right load order.
BurgerKing Apr 22, 2021 @ 10:50pm
Hmmm... I am not sure if this is OP or not... but I am using it more now that before. Maybe because I like the idea of crit more than insta kill.
Veehementia  [author] Mar 31, 2021 @ 11:40am
@Everyone Update: Fixed an issue causing Repeaters to still retain a 1% chance to instakill an enemy. Thanks to @h4ailst0rm over on Discord for the report and the solution!
Frozium Mar 30, 2021 @ 4:37am
Oh man this is great! Thank you!
modifieda4 Feb 6, 2021 @ 2:46pm
great! thank you for the update!
Veehementia  [author] Feb 5, 2021 @ 10:39am
@Everyone Updated the mod, hopefully now you should no longer get repeater executions.
Ellol 508 Feb 1, 2021 @ 9:21pm
Me too but was using a beam sniper rifle
GargakOfTheEast Jan 16, 2021 @ 12:10am
Hm. Just got a repeater execution. Probably is a mod conflict with the "coilguns" mod that replaces beam weapons with coilguns.
Kawapatch Dec 30, 2020 @ 12:49am
Hey so, the repeaters still cause instakills for me. It might be an issue with using repeaters on guns generated from Grimy's loot mod's weapon caches since those were the weapons the instakills occurred with, a shotgun and a vector rifle. Although I think I remember it occurring on a standard assault rifle too which might've been TLE. I don't plan on using Grimy's loot mod in future campaigns anyway so I hope this is just a weird interaction between the two mods, although from the sound of it the TLE weapons don't have it too hot either.
Battlestar Dec 4, 2020 @ 10:34am
I've noticed the TLE weapoons still seem to occasionally cause Instakills with this mod, anything you could do to look into fixing this?
Philadelphus Dec 2, 2020 @ 4:28am
Thanks for making this! I've wanted to use Better Repeaters for a while now, but that lack of Insider Knowledge kept me from it.
Flashstriker Nov 16, 2020 @ 1:54am
Praise be. If nothing else, the fact that Better Repeaters now respect Inside Knowledge is the reason this mod needed to exist. Thank you
Dragon32 Nov 14, 2020 @ 4:30pm
@Veehementia
Oh, OK. That just changes the order mods are written to in XComModOptions.ini, the game doesn't follow the order they're written to in that file. That reordering functionality's been removed in the latest versions of AML as it didn't do anything. Wish XCOM 2 was more like other games and load order was simple for the end-user to specify
Veehementia  [author] Nov 14, 2020 @ 12:59pm
@Dragon32
Usually I use the AML to do that. Select a mod, under the "Inspect" tab, and specify the order number you prefer. I'm not 100% sure that works, tbh, since I have multiple mods share the same index... but the few times I had to specify the order it did work. So good luck, I guess?
Dragon32 Nov 14, 2020 @ 12:50pm
@Veehementia
Have you found a way to specify load order? My manually installed mods load in alphabetic order and before Workshop ones, but Workshop mods seem to load in the order they were uploaded to the Workshop.
CptnHappyTimePie Nov 14, 2020 @ 12:17pm
@Veehementia Thanks for the help, luckily had that load order already so worked out ok in the end
Veehementia  [author] Nov 14, 2020 @ 12:01pm
@CptnHappyTimePie
So to answer your comments:
1. Tactical suppressor is compatible only if you load my Better Repeater mod before it. Load it after and TS' suppressors won't have their necessary abilities (you can work around this by using WSR to re-patch them in, if you want)
2. Reverse for the Better Attachments mod; it has to load before my Better Repeater mod or my changes will be overwritten. And unlike TS, in this case you can't work around this via WSR.
CptnHappyTimePie Nov 14, 2020 @ 11:01am
@Veehementia to save the comments page, I've posted what I think might be a work around here:

Sorry for the comment floods
CptnHappyTimePie Nov 14, 2020 @ 10:32am
; Added 'A Better Attachments' below to test possible fix/intergration
+GlobalStealthWeaponAttachements=(AttachementTemplate=FreeKillUpgrade_ABB_Bsc, ConcealmentLoss=-15)
+GlobalStealthWeaponAttachements=(AttachementTemplate=FreeKillUpgrade_ABB_Adv, ConcealmentLoss=-25)
+GlobalStealthWeaponAttachements=(AttachementTemplate=FreeKillUpgrade_ABB_Sup, ConcealmentLoss=-35)

Forgot I added that to Tactical Supp's so that may be why they worked ok together
CptnHappyTimePie Nov 14, 2020 @ 10:04am
Sorry Veehementia, forgot to ask about Tactical Suppressors also :/
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1135274274

Was using it with the Better Attachments mod,all seemed to work as intended. Had to edit Localization files just to reflect both changes. If they are compatible, i'll just use your Localization file as a basis and edit that.
CptnHappyTimePie Nov 14, 2020 @ 9:58am
Don't know why the link below won't load :/ apologies

Veehementia, how would this work out with Better Attachments installed (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1129253178&searchtext=better+attachments) since it has the original Better Repeater plus other attachment changes combined in one?
Dragon32 Nov 12, 2020 @ 6:04am
Thanks for the update, Veehementia. And thanks to DerBK for the original.
Syro System Nov 12, 2020 @ 4:53am
It's a god thing mods exist, because repeaters are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb.
Personally, I never use any weapon attachments since all of them break game balance in some way (looking at you, extended mag+banish), so I just treat them all like "generic sell trash" you see in pretty much every RPG ever.
Oblivious Naga Nov 12, 2020 @ 12:11am
Thanks
Hotl3looded Nov 11, 2020 @ 6:48pm
Nice thanks for this! I literally added this mod in my to do list last week. I'm happy someone else fixed it :)
TeslaRage Nov 11, 2020 @ 3:43pm
Oh nice. Swapping this one in and disabling the old version!
RakkoHug~<3 Nov 11, 2020 @ 3:20pm
Thank you very much :)
Veehementia  [author] Nov 11, 2020 @ 2:33pm
@gadrell There should be no issues, go right ahead.
gadrell Nov 11, 2020 @ 2:25pm
Sweet! Any issues if I swap this for the old version mid-campaign?
Veehementia  [author] Nov 11, 2020 @ 1:43pm
Thank you all!
