Nice revisit, still satisfying.

the visuals are great, but the puzzle is what makes this 10/10

Nice looking map! :D
But very hard, tried one hour to solve it and gave up, had to watch a solution video :(

Really cool idea. I like the map, and it was built well. I just don't get why it was named "Sofia."

This puzzle makes zero sense.

Beautiful puzzle, this may be the hardest Portal 2 puzzle that doesnt require glitches or fast mechanics. A very elegant solution that actually seems very simple once you figure it out. Definitely my favorite chamber! :GDNormal:
adolf_roland 15 mar, 2023 @ 16:49
this is absolutely diabolical. hats off to anybody who figures it out.

Great mapping, great puzzle. Being a little bit stupid, I spent so much hours to solve this... and finally did.

Cranberry Boy; Boy of Cranberry 19 apr, 2022 @ 2:50
I got as close as one possibly can to the solution, rather quickly I might add, but then I got stuck for half an hour and I had to look up the solution. Now I hate myself. This beautiful map made me realize that I am completely worthless. Good job.

Excellent puzzle and great design... Fav
SpielSatzFail 10 aug, 2021 @ 15:51
I found most of the steps, but there was this one final portal shot that refused to come to my mind. How on earth would I get both the cube AND the funnel (and myself) up to the exit area? Headscratch... I was close to watching the walkthrough (in fact I had already started it) when suddenly and with a feeling of relief the last missing piece occured to me :-)
Great chamber with interesting visuals and a cleverly convoluted portal management solution. Thumbs up!

Seemingly so simple on the face of it, yet had me stumped for about 15 minutes :) Great work guys

Welcome back, son!
Andy T 27 maj, 2021 @ 19:41
Finally found the page; there was a Workshop server glitch months back that gave me this map without author name, and no map name, I ran into this page only via @Dark Rozen's link, I was going to the scripting route and hack out an ID number but that's not necessary now.
Dark Rozen 23 maj, 2021 @ 9:32
This map is still brilliant
Rooke 13 maj, 2021 @ 18:40
OMG! That was difficult! But worth the effort. The use of all of those HL2 assets was incredible!

What a masterful puzzle! Had me very confused & running around in circles for a long time. I love how simple the layout is, it's so deceivingly simple looking. Also loved the custom elevators & textures. The sky & tower were breathtaking. Good music & ambiance. Really, really well done! Thanks for creating.

My blind playthrough

Steam does not allow to post links to third party websites. You need to remove the space around the dot :wat_creep:

I'm afraid the link is broken...
󠀡  [skapare] 16 dec, 2020 @ 13:23
Thank you, I am happy you paid attention to that detail, as it really helps to convey the presence of the Citadel. You can find the Hammer map file in the description, too :k8happy:
jp 15 dec, 2020 @ 18:21
Thanks for this fantastic map!!
Design & Puzzle are perfection.

I just don't understand how you manage to visually "connect" the cables coming from the tower skybox to the brush (or model) inside the map ? How can you do this in Hammer ?

Favorite among favorites ! :)
jandlml 1 nov, 2020 @ 18:37
definitely took me much longer than it should have to find the solution. i like the new elevator
crhoaviet6 29 okt, 2020 @ 8:56
This is my favorite Portal 2 map ever, so I'm biased. But I personally think the lighting is perfect - very HL2-esque. The darkness doesn't obscure any puzzle elements.
totes amaze balls 23 okt, 2020 @ 12:59
Man, finally got around to playing this. What a great map all around. I really love the creativity of the aesthetic, and it is crafted nearly flawlessly. My one gripe as others have listed below, is lighting. It as all around unnecessarily dark in my opinion, and there is next to no light in the chamber that accentuates bit of the puzzle, and I really think it should have been there. Now as for this puzzle, man, what a time. I still agree with one of LB's statements that the funnel is the most overused but underrated test element, but I think this puzzle absolutely follows up with the whole "underrated point". It was genuinely brilliant and took me way longer than it should have, it used all the good properties of the excursion funnel in the most perfect way and man was it so satisfying to get it, and not punishing at all because it was so simple. Fantastic work.
RazorLaser 6 okt, 2020 @ 11:56
Nice map, I liked the combination of Half Life and Portal because no one has really done that before so it makes the map more unique, anyway nice map and puzzle, thanks for creating.
levitatingspleen 4 okt, 2020 @ 12:39
There's so many original aspects to the design of this map, from the visuals to the genuinely brain-busting puzzle. Absolutely phenomenal.
FakerBaker 12 sep, 2020 @ 8:34
Amazing chamber. One of the best puzzles I've played in a while, it took much more time needed for me to figure out (honestly) but once I did, it was extremely satisfying.
Being a long time fan of both half-life/portal, the visuals were spot on, perfectly combining (no pun intended) what I love with portal 2's dilapidated style of aperture and the alien look of the combine architecture. I think this was a spot-on tribute to Viktor Antonov, as said in the description.

10/10, easily in my favourites. :steamhappy:
