@SDK : If you are alive and gonna upload the mentioned updates... thanks mate in advance! These are great mods!
You still alive fam?
I have all SDK's mods enabladed, minus this now and the Specialized Cargo Compression Unit
but some unusable subsystems will appear with it
(the only systems that still work are the specialized systems)
I have tested this in a seperatem creative game to see if it leads to crashes or gamebreaks
@OmegaConstruct, I'm glad you're enjoying this mod. I'll be updating it for 2.0 eventually.
I was theoretizing a system in which, you could go to research station, and dismantle upgrades for Tech-Shards. From those Tech-Shards, you would be able to upgrade equipment with shards.
Balancing issue. Either rarity of shards you get from melting [Green Eq gives green shards] or amount of shards [green eq gives 5x more shards than white eq]
How to calculate shards though? Credits and Rarity type. Mainly to avoid silly things like melting worthless white bypasses to stack shards to infinity.
I kinda realize it would either need dynamic system to differentiate between worth of Bypass and Hydroponics bay, or gargantuan amount of worktime to set shard value to each of upgrades.
I'll be adding more production bays as I update this. Feel free to let me know what bays you want to see next and I'll see if I can work them into the next update.
Happy New Year!
I am running this mod with a lot of other equipment type mods in paralel, basically, all SDK-made Specialized Equipment, without disabling the baseline. From all the mods, this mod is most groundbreaking for me. No longer do i have to suffer with extremely long chains to get anywhere. Now i just can... make a hauler, slap some upgrades, stack the generators, and i can basically have free passive income. Or feed it to higher tiers of food processors to get even better profit margin. Though, it is definitely not enough to supply even a single E12 Battlecruiser, it does help with it. From balance standpoint, i am happy with its balance. Most, if not all Bay-Type upgrades feel properly powerfull, yet neither Overpowered or Unaccesible.
