Thruster Smoke Mod

This does'nt seam to work for me in the 8/12/21 Update
Falcon_Flyin_High May 6, 2021 @ 11:55pm
I would make the smoke appear after the initial flame. It seems to start right up in the engine whereas it should be a product of the combustion and appear below the flames.
Syroth Mar 29, 2021 @ 2:26pm
i love the mod, i dont take it's intention to be realistic. Its supposed to look cool and seems to be advertised that way.

thanks for your work !
2Pac shakur Mar 10, 2021 @ 1:12pm
when you burn liquid hydrogen with liquid oxygen you do not get any plume from the engine, look at the RS-25 or RS-67, they both run on hydrogen and they do not emit any black plume, that is because there is no carbon involved in the reaction

agree with psycho wrong color of smoke?
X5DragonFire Dec 4, 2020 @ 6:53pm
looks cool wile flying :selike:
TwitchingPsycho Aug 27, 2020 @ 6:19am
Shouldn't the smoke be white tho? 😅
SSS-class Warlock Jul 18, 2020 @ 12:01am
lol, you're a total dickhead, XRCInfiniteXero
Twiz Jul 17, 2020 @ 1:55pm
Yeah doesn't seem to work for me, I'm on Mars, have Hydro thrusters, tried all the /squality settings and nothin I just don't get any smoke. I'm gonna assume it doesn't work with another mod I'm running.
XRCInfiniteXero Jul 14, 2020 @ 2:05pm
TL;DR : Also, not spam for anyone who says it is ; Salt is not present, just the probable presence of those who don't know how to read hating on those who do.... No disrespect intended probably.

@LaserWeaver

{

Read the description, noob, before trying to say people in a phrase; '"The smoke even expands more when in space!"'....

For the imbeciles :

Atmosphere : A area denoted to be known as a relatively pressurised zone (standard measurements in atm (atmospheres) &/or Pa (Pascals) &/or N/m (Newtons per metre (relative to Physics by measure of kinematics))); the relative atmosphere having a zonal limit seperating the boundaries of space & the atmospheric area itself can often be viewed as the limit of pressurisation (See: Atmospheric Pressure Zones).
XRCInfiniteXero Jul 14, 2020 @ 2:02pm
Space (Noun ; Science , Physics) : An area denoted to have no or negligable pressure of that of a vacuum with non-exact volumes of measurement (does have volume, just relatively ignored when using the term space; not measured by standardised volumetric units).

TTLS01 : Things To Learn For Steam, also known as, Things To Learn Before Posting On Steam, is a phrase address to those with lack of intellect who extend their reach to criticise others without application of thought, or any synaptical aptitude within psychological means of observation, or within any aspect ; a common-knowledge of veteran Reddit & Steam users is to observe to not entertain such habits, having studied the terms applied to " irritants' " & not including any of the associated maneurisms to avoid being issured the tag, (prior there), a-for-mentioned.

Burn : What TTLS01 Noob "LaserWeaver" just got issued.

@Jakaria

{

Thanks for the mod, just kindly introduce or add an alternate variant of the mod with the modification prior stated; appreciated whether you do or don't do it.

Also, once implemented, if implemented, kindly add a patch note to the description or a link in the description to the new mod with a link of both alternate mods to each other in their respective descriptions where applicable.

Thanks, GG.

This only works in atmosphere people
Nexi Jun 26, 2020 @ 11:51am
my hydro thrusters are making no smoke at all
Dorimanx Jun 7, 2020 @ 5:27am
Hydro only.
Aggressor Jun 7, 2020 @ 4:52am
It will give a smoke only for hydro engines or for atmo also ?
XRCInfiniteXero Jun 4, 2020 @ 7:09pm
@Jakaria Kindly : Would you make a version where smoke diminishes with the rate of atmospheric loss, for realism ? .... Where Possible : I would highly appreciate it ; Thanks .
AtakaJak May 7, 2020 @ 5:19am
I see you like Aragath's Frigate Design.

Be nice if you could reduce the smoke density for small thrusters. Or maybe even have a option to disable small thrusters smoke in a config file (if there isn't already).
W. Wolfe May 2, 2020 @ 8:26pm
great work man! glad to see an original idea. Allow color change and the nigh sayers will go away lol. cant wait to see some of your other ideas!
sixvitalblade Apr 10, 2020 @ 5:53am
The ship is a D.U.S.T cargo ship
Old Schmetterling Apr 8, 2020 @ 5:03pm
Whats that ship?
dRuPpI Mar 27, 2020 @ 8:59pm
think video is already outdated .. has been udated several times :lunar2019grinningpig:
Lykos666 Mar 26, 2020 @ 4:43pm
particles look offset in the video. And are coming out of the thrusters. Which should be at the end of the flame exhaust. PLUS, since its hydrogen. It should be white smoke instead. Even though when hydrogen burns, its smoke is colorless. White would indicate that it is fusing with oxygen to create water.
UnCheat Mar 24, 2020 @ 12:01pm
Looks like it needs a slight offset for particles effect.
aycfes Mar 24, 2020 @ 10:13am
@╲⎝⧹Anonymous⧸⎠╱ that's from a solid booster, completely different from a hydrogen thruster.
tho i'd love some shock diamonds (like when ya use vacum optimized engines in an atmosphere) https://spacenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/raptor-test.jpg
High Lord Baron Mar 24, 2020 @ 7:55am
Hm, could you add more commands? Like the ability to activate it in space? As I said, would be perfect for my pirate vessel!
Flygtur Mar 24, 2020 @ 6:46am
Gw, but:

1. Why is the smoke black? Is it burning coal?

2. Why is it changing color at the end?

3. Why is it so short?
Mike Dude Mar 24, 2020 @ 6:00am
This is really cool! Few suggestions: Lighter color, longer trail, and increase emitter velocity so smoke doesn't kinda pool and clip through the ship as much (especially when hovering with large H2 thrusters). Looks like there is no smoke on Mars sadly. I like the idea of the smoke changing with atmosphere a lot. Ultimate mode would be a .cfg or .xml in the save storage folder where we could tweak color and settings to our preference!
RailgunMikoto Mar 23, 2020 @ 9:44pm
smoke is hard to see and practicly see through how do i fix this
⎝⧹Greedynuf⧸⎠ Mar 23, 2020 @ 7:33pm
@liquid_confidence it should be in your mods list in your world settings
liquid_confidence Mar 23, 2020 @ 6:57pm
So I like the idea of this but dont know how to use it. Its listed as a "Script" but is not in the list on my Prog Blocks.
🍁BuzzedBear🍁 Mar 23, 2020 @ 6:20pm
LOL.. Climate Snowflakes everywhere are losing their minds!!!! LOOK AT ALL THE BLACK SMOKE!!! OMG!!! We're going to cause global warming on other planets!!! Wouldn't that be cool... we could actually have lakes with a bit of a greenhouse!
I'd make the smoke a light grey to white-ish smoke man... Other than that... STELLAR WORK!!
Big thumbs up!
ZABOR Mar 23, 2020 @ 5:45pm
only for the reason that it looks a little odd
ZABOR Mar 23, 2020 @ 5:42pm
looks good but i say the same thing as Anonymous
⎝⧹Greedynuf⧸⎠ Mar 23, 2020 @ 5:34pm
Looks great anyways!
⎝⧹Greedynuf⧸⎠ Mar 23, 2020 @ 5:33pm
Looks cool but maybe you could make it bright yellow or orange near the start of the engine and make it fade to gray. Like this http://www.quirkyscience.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Rocket.png just a suggestion
Viny Mar 23, 2020 @ 3:05pm
Good for Steampunk themed projects
† BigWerewolfDaddy † Mar 23, 2020 @ 3:01pm
My orkz boiz iz realli love it
Skallabjorn Mar 23, 2020 @ 2:40pm
is there a CFG file to keep the value on Dedicated Server restarts?
Dorimanx Mar 23, 2020 @ 10:37am
So to summary commands are:
/squality none
/squality low
/squality medium
/squality high

Can i request ultrahigh??? so smoke will be black and massive! like some heavy industry!
lest say you build a factory and place drive that always work and spitting heavy smoke!
How cool is that!
PLEASEEE :)
OctoBooze Mar 23, 2020 @ 2:01am
I love everything about this mod. Loved the Reavers in Serenity with their billowing engines chasing their prey and have been looking for that kind of dirty exhaust for forever. Awesome job
Streuwinkel Mar 22, 2020 @ 7:15pm
Good idea, but the flame and the smoke could blend better and be more of a light gray shade. It's mostly steam coming out of a H2 engine, I figure?
High Lord Baron Mar 22, 2020 @ 6:33pm
Yeah, maybe, but it looks cool!
aycfes Mar 22, 2020 @ 4:40pm
ya know, hydrogen combustion produces no smoke, at all
if anything, it may produce light, soft trails of steam
so, configs pls?
High Lord Baron Mar 22, 2020 @ 2:27pm
Hmmm. Just read that it doesn't work in space anymore.... To bad. Would have been a nice touch for my pirate vessel....
Jakaria  [author] Mar 22, 2020 @ 1:45pm
I updated with a lighter smoke color and the smoke doesn't spawn in space anymore.
Selak Mar 22, 2020 @ 1:19pm
not sure what all you did to make this work but would it be possible to also modify the smoke trail by the amount of atmosphere present. Then it would allow you to have a smoke trail but it would also be reduced to no actual trail when in space as the atmosphere is 0. Just a thought that i would have no idea how to implement myself.
Warlocc Mar 22, 2020 @ 12:15pm
I agree with the others that say smoke in space doesn't make a lot of sense, but I love the idea of combining this with some of the beat up and rusted armor skins.
DeAnti Mar 22, 2020 @ 11:58am
you are a beast
