"RImworld" is unplayable without this Mod. I hope you will consider updating it to V1.4 .

Looking through the assembly and the defs, it doesn't use any kind of fuel and all it does it add a Harmony patch to some caravan methods to check every tick if the cooler is in the caravan inventory and, if it is, both prevents rotting on all food items and sets the rotting progress to 0%. So a little OP, yeah. Also it patches the "days left of food" text in a form caravan window to read as positive infinity if the cooler is there, so. It does require research: it's an industrial tech with prereqs of Passive Cooler and Electricity. Which, I'm not certain, might be given to non-tribal colonies at game start?

The description doesn't really explain the details.

Q1: Does this device use fuel to keep things cool?
Q2: What is the temperature inside the device? (Or, does it just magically prevent any deterioration?)

Until I hear otherwise, I would just assume that this must be an OP device that does not require fuel and preserves food indefinitely. Does it even require research to unlock?

Each cooler will work for the full caravan, only one needs to carry it. (because logic)

This works with corpses right? I want to take my wargs with me on caravans but meat and corpses always rots quickly so if this just stops all of my bodies from rotting it will be a great help.

@giubilante Yep, any caravan that is carrying at least one caravan cooler will have all of its items refrigerated. Doesn't matter which animal or pawn is carrying it.

oh wows! that's neat :) but what if.. its on one animal and some food gets put on other animals? its ok too as long as its same caravan (not splitted)?

@giubilante You don't, you just need to bring it with you on caravans and it will keep all perishable items from rotting.

Please feel free to use this minor revision [gist.github.com] of the XML patch that checks for active Royalty DLC before patching Royalty research layouts (to eliminate those pesky little errors @Suomu mentioned).

@Suomu, that's a good point, thanks for bringing that to my attention! As an answer to your question though, no it won't break the game. It'll just throw the error saying that the research items for piano, harp, and harpsichord can't be found, but nothing beyond that. Everything will still work as normal.

It has an error about ResearchTabPositioningPatch.xml and pianos, harpsichord and other royalty(? I don't own royalty) instruments. Will it break game?
