Turns out it ended at 1, and it was an excellent play. So yeah, it's just the visuals getting bugged, then.

Huh, there seems to be a bug - I had a play happening, but one of the actors' jobs is just 'standing', and the motes don't appear as usual - only the first one by the other actor (whose job is correctly 'performing play'). The audience and the actors are silent for a couple hours now (started at 21 ish, actors arrive 22, it is currently 0 hour ingame). I'll see what happens if I let it continue...

How does this work? Can I have a pawn in the cantina or bar just playing piano giving mood buffs to nearby pawns and ones that pass by? Or is it like a ritual where you select pawns to watch a performance?

the items(music notes and performance script) are very expensive. so if you install this mod, then you don't have to make new sculpture to earn silver. and I think that aspect could harm the balance. because the ingredient to make them is just few hide(only 5 for each)

Exactly, but the guide in the original mod page says the performance is broadcasted, so how do I remove the audience requirement? Think of it as a podcast...

Thanks Mlie, The mic is used to rehearse but then the performance does not happen.

@allpowertothesoviets You should be able to use the mic regardless of the amount of colonists

I'm currently playing a single pawn colony and I would like to be able to perform on the mic and broadcast. can you tell me what files to edit please?

@Mlie can you add some null checks in RazzleDazzle.LordJob_Performance.GiveWatchedPlayThoughts, it threw some exceptions because of the interaction with Android Tiers Reforged pawns that don't form memories (null reference somewhere). Thanks.

I really wish there was a way to assign a microphone to a colonist like meditation spots and beds can be assigned. I keep having this one pawn eat up four different microphones for some reason.

@RedCell Had this problem, just write a new play and start over. No guarantee they will come back

Found a problem where a visitor ended up being a performed for a play and I could not replace them leaving the play stuck. Tried replacing and rebuilding the stage. Eventually just wrote a new play and it fixed the problem. The radio doesn't seem to work at first but once you start getting plays and comedy going you should start to get silver

Pianos are well and good for medieval empires.. But I really wish there were more modern/syfy instruments and all.

Can you use this in the middle of a save?

If someone is off the map, could you make it so their act doesn't even trigger until they come back?

Are colonists supposed to get 0 recreation from plays and complaing about recreation starving while literally being entertained? And i think that plays are too expensive, 5 leather for 500+ silver is too much.

How does the radio work? my colonist are performing with the mic and theater but nothing changes at the radio.

Shouldn't performing these activities generate at least a tiny positive mood buff for a bit (or at least while doing them)?

I mean, they get to artistically express themselves to an audience - play music, act in a show, or tell jokes. Shouldn't that be more enjoyable for a lot of people that, say, building walls and floors, tending to animals, planting or harvest crops, mine for ores, butchering animals, etc...?

Does anyone know how the plays get unassigned to the stages? They seem to be stuck once assigned and the only way to switch out plays is to minify the stages

The work givers WorkGiver_DoBillsAtGrandPiano, WorkGiver_PreparePerformance, and WorkGiver_Rehearser don't have names, and just come up as variable names when used with mods that display them. [i.imgur.com]

@Enclaveboy I sent a request to the dev for Hospitality about it. If guests were allowed to join parties in general, they would join concerts as well since it uses the same logic.

Regarding compatibility with other musical mods, there is just too much specific code in this mod to be able to incorporate more instruments. At least for me, sorry!

From the original mod back then I remember there was a radio tower too, that most likely goes with the broadcast station.
Not 100% certain, I mainly used the stage and microphone for entertainment.

@Clanker has it. Vanilla Expanded Books adds a writing table and a type writer desk. It would be clever to build integration so that plays could be made on the writing table or desk. More or less to add consistency.

Also I meant to ask about the Broadcast station as well. Is there supposed to be a separate tower building in addition to the broadcaster comm station? Like are they supposed to connect some how?
