@FDRpi: Void Beast is a hard fight, but it targets a specific type of deck. If you go into it for the first time with a deck that it counters, it can be pretty rough, similar to how a fight like Chosen can be rough for a deck that's mostly skills. Act 2 hallway fights are quite hard in general as well. But there's lots you can do to prepare for the chance you get the Void Beast fight.
@Liwet: The idea of Sticky Tar is that you have to seek out the risk of elite fights to get rid of it, and that you might have to take some into act 3 if you don't (or can't) fight enough elites in act 2. Removing a Sticky Tar after boss fights would go against that.
I think the Void Beast either should have to spend its first turn applying it as a debuff and/or it shouldn't include powers. As is it feels like a boatload of damage unavoidable for most builds/hands with no ability to play around it. It's also a hallway fight that basically murders Silent's shiv deck.
From testing, several of the Better X events get added as shrine events for the Elementarium, even though the act normally has no shrines. For example, Knowing Skull normally doesn't appear in the Elementarium, but I just had Better Knowing Skull show up for me in a test run I did with the Better X mods on. That's already a bug.
It's also the cause of the crash. I reproduced the crash by running the Better X mods, making myself ineligible for the events (too low HP for Better Knowing Skull, too low money for Better Match), and going to event nodes until I got a shrine. I don't think the Better X mods should be adding these events to modded acts -- that's the root issue here.
I don't want to wait for changes to those mods, though, so I've fixed this by preventing those events from showing up in the Elementarium. The fix is in version 1.9.1, which is now on the workshop.
This seems to conflict with A Better Third Choice. I'm attempting to enter a Question Mark in The Elementarium, but I crash - disabling A Better Third Choice resolves the problem.

It's totally separate from my act mods, but if you've enjoyed the enemy, event, relic, and card designs in my act mods, you may enjoy Corrupt the Spire too. Hope everyone gives it a try!
I did still like and become more interested by those lil blurbs in the descriptions of the mod pages for Menagerie and Abyss though. Not to bother abt it but if you had something like that. Like just a lil morsel specifically about the Elementarium to give me a basis for going and speculation that would be cool. It' fine if not though.
That's interesting about the civilizations too! I didn't even realize there was a civilization for the Elementarium. And I kind of assumed the mages were the ones that locked the Shogoths of the Abyss away. Maybe they were even who knows.
For the story elements, I put together a "history" behind the three acts as part of creating them, and used events and fights to show parts of that history -- but just like the base acts, even if you see all the events in the game, there are things that aren't fully explained or that are open to interpretation. Which is just like real pre-modern history, honestly....
That means it's great to hear that you liked the events and came up with thoughts and questions. Having some things be a mystery (or require seeing more events or speculation or leaps of logic) is fully intended, and I hope it adds to the enjoyment. That means I'm going to dodge most of your questions and avoid direct answers here, since it would be a bit too spoilery :).
One little hint I'll give is each act has older ruins than the previous one. The mages that ruled the Menagerie are the most recent civilization of the three.
I hope everyone enjoys it and finds everything (particularly the bosses) to be as challenging as the base game.
I got the ? scene where you enter an old sculpture garden and get I think three options. I can't remember what the first was, but the second, which I chose, was to take Golem's heart and receive the "Decay" curse. I was also playing with The Cursed mod, using that character, so it might be a conflict there. Just wanted to let you know.

Regardless, I was thrilled with the event. Had the hardest time picking one of the swords. So the rewards are in the right spot I think.
@Frugi Lentesco Glad you enjoyed it! The elemental blades event is definitely strong. My goal with it was to make something vaguely inspired by Ghost Council (the apparations event), but with attacks where each is a unique card. The event does cost a big chunk of max HP, but it might still be too strong, particularly on low ascensions where the max HP loss doesn't matter as much. Definitely on my radar balance-wise, though I don't want to diminish the fun of getting the event.
Hope everyone is enjoying their runs so far!
The blade event seems mighty strong, esspecially since it has absolutely no downside and has a great option for pretty much any situation. I'd say some kind of downside would be in order. The option to take them all was a lovely surprise after I was mulling over which one would be best.
I'll keep playing with it for a while I feel! Hope more people give this one a chance.
