Hope it helps anyone!
Not sure if this is the correct fix for it.
Running into other issues, so can't confirm yet if it's working properly, but progress =D
This is what shows up for me with both mods loaded.
I've also noticed no such code in the patch file removing this mod's coal or making the tweaks to recipes to use theirs?
The wood logs created by Expanded woodworking fall under the "WoodTypes" ThingCategory, if that helps.
(I am still using 1.1 unfortunately due to lack of mod updates, but it would still help others in the future i'm sure)
The discriptions sais it can use charcoal and coal but in the bill details it does not accept anything other then plain mined coal.
there's nothing in the work tab that says that (probably because of other mods) so i was assinging miners to do that
Thanks!
Mind that nodes used by medievalmine are different from those used by deep drills.
Currently I have to process raw wood with expanded woodworking into mixed lumber in order to make charcoal with it.
If not, it should be
<fixedIngredientFilter>
<thingDefs>
<li>ChunkIronOre</li>
<li>CoalOre</li>
<li>CharCoalOre</li>
</thingDefs>
</fixedIngredientFilter>
Not
<fixedIngredientFilter>
<thingDefs>
<li>ChunkIronOre</li>
<li>CoalOre</li>
</thingDefs>
</fixedIngredientFilter>
Thank you :)

Another one when I load up the save file in question if it makes a difference.

Let me know if you need anything else, thanks for you spending some time on this issue!
To the people with reasearch speed error message it will be fixed when I will get some time on my hands sorry
Everything else seems ok
"Could not resolve cross-reference to RimWorld.SkillDef named Researching (wanter=relevantSkills)"
and
"Could not load UnityEngine.Texture2D at /oreicon in any active mod or in base resources."
Would work better with other mods like Vanilla Iron and Steel or Coal Expanded
