If I add for example: gm_parachute_t10 to the VS_ChuteClass field, I can jump out of the plane and it will deploy the GM chute.
However, if i'm wearing a backpack, I put that on my chest, put on the GM T10 chute, and then jump out, it moves the parachute to my chest and discards by backpack. How do I configure this to work properly so I can put backpack on chest, parachute on back, board the plane and jump. I've used it many times with the CUP T10 with no problem, the GM one isn't natively recognized it seems. Thank you.
The intent of the scroll wheel is to make it a bit more accessible, and therefore easier to use as the final action. It also separates the final jump action from the "unhook" action, which is effectively the safety, in the event of a cancelled jump.
Love this mod ,
is there any way you can remove the scroll wheel function to "Static line jump " and bring it over to the ACE side. Keep every action/interface in the same hemisphere?
@FraggerNut The core function of throwing you out and deploying the chute yes, however all the communities we're involved in use the DerZade version, and it requires the backpack on chest functions to be coded directly in, which are BOC mod specific... So it would run into issues and errors trying to place your backpack on your chest if you didn't already have a chute equipped.
Is the Redux version magically better? We've experienced instances of losing backpack contents with DerZade's.
@Teufel Hund It's certainly possible, though I'm not sure worth the effort for what would be a 24m difference in jump height for one mission :P What I may do instead is lower the minimum jump floor without changing the documentation, which will give a perceived buffer allowing jumps right at 100m to occur. I'll give it some thought.
Right now we've been trying to develop the ability to drop packs to a tether, and the Arma rope objects along with the base physics has proved to be a real b*tch.
Standing up animations is no simple task, so it will take quite some time.
With gear checks, buddy checks, etc we will likely introduce a free fall variant that doesn't auto deploy your parachute.
@Doinkster The C-47 uses turret positions for those standing 'seats'. Enabling the mod for those seats would mean the pilot, co-pilot, and other crew can also static line jump, unless we individually configured each of the standing positions for that aircraft. As it stands, the scripting used is completely universal and doesn't have to reference a single unique aircraft classname, and we're going to keep it that way as much as possible.
