Still not works..

Same
Not usable as of now (Dec 2024):
- There are "cracks" on the sides of the road.
- The surface on the sides of the road is sand (I think) which does not match the terrain.
- Intersections are empty.

What's up with the lack of an intersection? Awesome addition otherwise.
zin May 30, 2023 @ 6:50pm
Does this still work?
Sint Holo Apr 29, 2023 @ 10:55pm
No intersection textures???? What?????
Lordwarblade Feb 24, 2023 @ 12:03am
Dark shadow ruins it for me. I don't have a good enough machine to mess about with items that don't work fine first time, or need unknown help/mods to make them look like they are on the image. I love most of your stuff, but I have to be ruthless with my own game.

Removed from my game. I'm sad.:steamsad:
But 3.5Mb saved. I'm happy.:steamhappy:
But you did Sp*rs stadium but not Arsenal's. I'm really sad. :steamfacepalm::steamsad::steamsad:

Thankyou for all the hard work you put in to make our games better.

I am getting a dark shadow layered over the road. Amyway to fix that?
BrotherBongo Jul 30, 2021 @ 10:58pm
wow...just beautiful.

the roads wouldn't distort at the intersections if you just made an intersection node. if you made a skin for the road you can probably do it for the intersections.

Looks Great

@Macwelshman, sorry for my late comment, and for me not being clear enough. I meant that it will not look as good if you dont have a green map theme, green for grass. You get a grey outline next to the road. I was going for a realistic look with my desert map so it didnt really fit.
Izangar Apr 27, 2020 @ 9:13pm
Do you think it'd be possible to have a matching decal to cover up the junctions? I don't do coding, but I can provide image assets to create it if necessary.
Pistro Apr 25, 2020 @ 4:47pm
I'm going to check that out. Thanks!
Macwelshman  [author] Apr 25, 2020 @ 4:24pm
@Pistro If you subscribe to the excellent Theme Mixer 2 then it is very easy to change the Grass and Ruined. I recommend using both the Grass and Ruined from the Seychelles Map Theme. Unfortunately it's not possible to make these roads blend at junctions with the vanilla dirt roads.
My advice is to not use the vanilla ones as they're shite.
Pistro Apr 25, 2020 @ 1:13pm
Oh, in that case the effect of not blending well is caused by the "ruined" texture that appears along roads, isn't it? This is what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/GfWCvk6.png
I notice that it doesn't appear on your images. How do you get rid of it? Also, is there any way to make your road blend with a vanilla dirt road?
Macwelshman  [author] Apr 25, 2020 @ 12:46pm
@Pistro They don't use a grass texture. They have a bespoke mud texture for the tracks but the grass is generated by the game. It's effectively transparent.
Pistro Apr 25, 2020 @ 8:57am
I think he means that the grass texture does not blend well with vanilla ground textures and vanilla dirt roads. At least that's the case for me.
Macwelshman  [author] Apr 22, 2020 @ 9:09am
@BlackRush What do you mean?
Macwelshman  [author] Apr 22, 2020 @ 9:09am
@j.pablo.14 There is no reason that the game should slow as these are only road assets. The T junctions have been specifically designed to fade. like that to avoid distorted textures. As the roads use bespoke ground textures the game doesn't deal well with them ay junctions.
j.pablo.14 Apr 22, 2020 @ 7:52am
I don't know why, but when I add these paths to my library my game slows down the FPS and takes a long time to load.

But leaving that aside, it is a very nice job that you did, but it is necessary to improve the "T" intersections because they disappear.
BlackRush Apr 3, 2020 @ 4:38am
This only works if the rest of the map is green as well
FeatherstheParasaur Feb 23, 2020 @ 6:55am
Hello Macwelshman. I love your assets. Here's an idea for you if you want to: How about some British Farm Buildings/props to go with your dirt roads and rik4000's village buildings?
Macwelshman  [author] Feb 9, 2020 @ 12:28pm
@dimrealm Screenshots created using: Relight Neutral LUT (light settings adjusted slightly for better brightness), European base theme, Theme Mixer 2 using various textures from different themes (the ones relevant to these shots are the Grass and Ruined (both from Seychelles them), Cubemap replacer using overcast from HDRI Haven Cubemap Pack.
dimrealm Feb 9, 2020 @ 8:52am
May we know what map theme/base theme/LUT is required to obtain the results from the screenshots? They look great. Is Theme Mixer 2 used as well?
I suspect the European base theme is used.
Master D 4 Feb 9, 2020 @ 7:21am
Looks so much better than the original dirt roads!
Macwelshman  [author] Feb 9, 2020 @ 2:20am
@dimrealm It appears to affecting the ruined only. Try using Theme Mixer 2 and see if there are settings that can be tweaked.
dimrealm Feb 8, 2020 @ 10:44pm
This is what I get on a Temperate base theme using the Seychelles Map Theme and no color correction:

These look fantastic. Great work!
Macwelshman  [author] Feb 7, 2020 @ 3:21pm
@Shirilak This is all down to the 'Ruined' texture in the theme that you are using. If you subscribe to the excellent Theme Mixer 2 then it is very easy to change the Grass and Ruined. I recommend using both the Grass and Ruined from the Seychelles Map Theme. This will solve the problem.

I love the look of these roads, but for some reason when i place them I get a rather unsightly gravel sidewalk along side them, any thoughts?
