This mod seems really to be abandoned, they even make fun of it over in the turkish forums. Use this one for 1.53 and up.

Engine Sound too loud? No! Loud Pipes save lifes !!!
Apart from the engine sound (which you can always lower within the audio settings), have you tried this "Ford F-MAX Sound Fix" workshop mod, here ?
Should you have not, I strongly recommend that you did. ;)

I simply think that there have been updates of the simulator, yes, but such updates did not change the behavior of 'truck' MODs such as this very one. I know nothing for sure, but my logic deduction would be this one. So basically, this Mod is working fine without any issues as long as the simulator doesn't receive DEEP changes (deep enough to change the way a truck works, all in all, I mean). I think this would be a decent explanation, to some degree. Fact is, this F-Max is working fine in v1.51: I tested it out myself a few days ago and had no problems whatsoever.
