For anyone experiencing the invisible piston issue upon loading in, it went away when I reset my GPU drivers using Ctrl+Shift+Win+B

Love the mod, but the 3x3 small grid piston's base is invisible upon loading into a world (visible when placed) - still solid and functional, just invisible. It's fixed by copy/pasting the grid (not much use in survival) or making sure the pistons are retracted before loading in (not always preferable) - any chance you take a look at this? Other piston mods just ain't cutting it for me, I need dat 3x3 small grid piston

Hey Nuke, any chance you could take a look at the collisions on these pistons? I know you did already reduce them back in 2022 but they're still a little larger than vanilla when looking at their physics primitives and it prevents them passing through a 1x1 space if stacked on each other or vanilla pistons.

When using this mod the Large grid Piston top part is missing from the G-menu. It is not there for vanilla or modded piston.

Using this mod is breaking the terminal menu for hinges (the options for angles etc are gone)

I've noticed a small issue when using build vision, although I have no idea if you can do anything about it in the first place, but anyways just to have it mentioned:

The piston heads of the 1x1 and 1x5 LG pistons are 180 deg rotated in the build vision preview.
Completely irrelevant to everything /except/ replacing a stack of vanilla ones with the good ones, because the pistons care about proper rotation to their heads.

I've had issues when I was trying a replacement by using build vision and used it to detach the heads, remove the old pistons, lined up the new ones with the "right" orientation, welded them and tried to connect them and it didn't work.
Took a few re-welds until I noticed that the heads result 180 deg flipped compared to what build vision shows as a preview. Once I took this into account it worked fine.

Just fyi, IF you can even influence that.

These should be vanilla, already because of the stability if you ever need longer range than a single piston.
I've upgraded a mining vehicle's arm from 2x3 pistons (linked by 2x2+1 hinges) to 2 pistons, and it became SO calm while parked now.
The jittering was insane before, even when the end part was merged to itself, and now it's calm as hell.

3x3 piston has invisible parts on reload of game. Piston is first built looks perfect! On reload piston is missing part of the base model. Any thoughts?

It's extremely hard to place things on the top part of the 3x3 SG piston but once you finally find the right spot these are amazing for SG cranes and such

The piston tops on small grids are a bit wonky to use. some issues I've found when using them:
-Placing blocks on the top is a tad tedious. it seems to have a sweet spot in the center that will give the green box
-Grinding the top has the same issue
This mod is awesome, particularly now with the new turret blocks. It makes making cranes and complex machines possible on small grids since small grids are limited on materials transport.

Can't seem to nest these(large grid 1x5 piston) very well. Haven't tested in creative, but it seems you can only have conveyors coming back up one side(I'm trying to nest them on a vertical deep-mining rover). I'd be able to do what I want asymmetrically, but I have just enough OCD to where it bugs me. Haven't got to test for clang yet.

When you weld the head up it becomes the right size. Just built it and it works fine.

currently having issues with the small grid 3x3 piston only attaching the vanilla 1x1 "PistonTop" part. it looks like all the files for the textures and meshes are there but the part is not in the game/build menu so I think it defaults to the vanilla one.

This mod has an obsolete warning in the dedicated server - BlockVariants are obsolete. Use block groups instead for block: MyObjectBuilder_ExtendedPistonBase/1x1LargePistonBase

I find there's a bit of a hidden collision zone at the piston head. Add a conveyor block or the 1 block thick conveyor frame before attaching anything else to the top of the piston. Doing that reduces the vibration quite a bit.

this mod works but anything attached to this pistons is wobbling :steamsad: while grids on standard piston stays at 0 m/s, probably an old code in mod...

The Small 3x3 piston is acting weird. It is putting a small piston head that is buried inside of the piston and cannot add a large piston head to allow for transfer of components.

I can confirm on latest DS, the following error is generated and the 3x3 piston is not added to block inventory:

"03:18:46.2294 [ERROR] Keen: Block-pair MyObjectBuilder_ExtendedPistonBase/1x1LargePistonBase MyObjectBuilder_ExtendedPistonBase/3x3SmallPistonBase is not in the same block-variant group"

All other pistons appear and work fine.

Here is your Mod makes me a mistake one can complicate I think it is because you did not update it. Here is the error:

The other blocks can be configured to the stated values, however the small block only goes to 2m max confiigurable value.

The 3x3 piston for small grids says it can do up to 4m... however the interface only supports 2.5m as a maximum.

looks like the new hinge block from keen would shake violently when attached to the 3x3 small block piston, anyone also having this issue? 3x3 small block piston is so crucial to attach with welders, hope Keen adds it to vanilla..

@bigdls, have you tried increasing the axis and non-axis limiters? i know that the defaults can be atleast doubled to override any movement issues.

First of all I would like to say that this mod has been a life saver, but that being said I seem to be having trouble getting the 1x5 pistons to work together either stacked or in tandem. the pistons will work on there own but if I try to use multiple pistons together one will try to work and the rest will just stay locked in place I also tried to stack two pistons one will extend but the second won't I have tried activating in a group and individually with the same results.

Any chance you could perhaps make the collision box for the pistons, or at least the 1x1 piston a bit smaller? I't slightly larger then the model itself and i tried to make a landing gear mimic and the 1x1 pistons not just grind but get stuck on the walls even though they perhaps shouldn't.

Hi, can any confirm, that the large pistons dont have the same Physics Performance problems at a server like 3 vanila pistons by a stack? Becouse oure server have rubber bunding and all other say, its my pistonminer. i dont know.

We have your Piston mode in our private server and I came across an issue with your 1x5 pistons while building up an lift with 4 of them merged with one platform (like you usually do with vanilla pistons,) but for some reasons i cannot figure out why they work as they should so Im wondering if you still on this mod and if this is known issue for you

I haven't started a single game without these added in since I subbed. I realized that means I should probably come back through and rate, favorite, and comment. These are Must-Haves for people that do drill rigs like me, IMO.

The hitbox issue is a little limiting for other applications, and I'd love to see you fix it. Honestly, though it rarely comes up for me and I've even built some elevators with them :shrug:

I can confirm that the hitboxes of the large grid pistons are larger than the vanilla piston. I tested this by placing a vanilla piston vertically and a 1x5 and 1x1 piston right next to it also vertically. I then walked directly up against the vanilla piston and moved only to the side (right in my case). When I walked into the other piston I was pushed back, and when I walked left back in front of the vanilla piston I was able to walk toward it again.

It seems that those pistons have bigger hitbox than vanilla one. When I expand one of yours into 1x1 space it goes nuts
