Would require me to re-code it to factor in monitor sizes, something that was on the to-do list way back when, however, I don't mod anymore sorry, no longer studying, I'm working full-time and just don't have the energy or interest anymore.

Happy for someone to re-code it if you can find someone.

Hi i have a ultra-wide monitor and I was hoping there was a fix for the cross as it is large and stretched.

Its a script but its client side since its drawing to screen. Not sure why it wouldn't work on your MP setup, there is nothing it sends to a server as far as I remember, been a while since I did this one and unfortunately I don't have time to play with it at the moment.

Full time work / part time uni = no fun.

All sounds pretty alright to me.
Although, if you have it auto-show for tools, perhaps you could have different types of crosshairs?
Maybe an inverted cross-box-thing for the welder and grinder, and a spread indicator for guns?
Perhaps you could even have it change shape when you're hovering over something interactable, similar to Bethesda games? That would certainly make it more feasible to use mods disabling the interaction highlight.

I'll circle back to this one soonish guys, I'm in the middle up updating some modding tools for the community. Things I need to do: -

- Fix the aspect ration for monitors 16:10
- Create an option for the crosshair to appear in 3rd person view when in cockpit
- Create an option to and/or display crosshair when looking through a camera or turret.
- Add option to auto show when using tools (probably make this on by default).

Let me know if I missed anything!

Would you be willing to add an option to only show this crosshair while looking through a camera and remote-controlling a grid?
I like to use 3D Helmet Hud's crosshair, but unfortunately you don't get any reference for the horizon with the vanilla crosshair disabled.
I can press F2 to toggle it when looking through a camera while controlling something, but it's a little annoying.

I agree, I like this mod a lot but I would like the option to show the crosshair when flying a ship in third-person.

@Stollie Keen's crosshairs show up correctly in third person, letting you align with the artificial horizon. I know there's another one next to the toolbar but I prefer not to take my eyes off he view.

@Ouroborus - any reason you want it in 3rd person? It looks kinda dumb since it paints itself on the back of the head of the astronaut and in a grid its useless since you cant use it to target anything effectively?

Just minor update for now.

Changed blendtype over to PostPP so it doesn't get washed out by different things. I'll work on trying to make it look 'sharper' soon and some config options.

Hmm.. OK - I've updated it to use a logging system now and you wont see the error in game, if there is one it'll be in the storage folder of the save game in a file called cross_hair.log

I still couldn't get it to reproduce an error but if you could take a look in there for me on your side and see if anything pops up?

I'll also look to make it a little more modular so I can catch the exact step an error might be occurring. I think I might have solved it at the same time though as I was missing a null check.

Hmm.. I can't reproduce it which is annoying. It seems to be something to do with a delay in SE loading.

I'll comment out the message and just write it to the log instead that might make it easier for me to track down.

I did see this on my side once and then I couldn't get it to repeat to troubleshoot the problem. Not sure what the issue is >.<

Was this on their first time using the mod and logging into the server?

A number of my users got "Crosshair MOD Error - report to Author" did not see any errors in their personal SE.log file.

Hahaha, yeah it might not actually be that hard either, I need to tie into Draygo's system and write an XML save/load system.

I might have a crack at it this weekend, feel free to edit the files yourself though, the key-bind is pretty easy to find :P

What the.. ?

When I set defaults on mine the only re-color is under Controls -> Block Placement - > Recolor block and its only button is MMB. I tried using F2 to re-color a block and it didn't do anything.

So if you reset your keys to default F2 is re-color for you?

UPDATE: Changed key-bind to F2 key. Turns out Tilde doesn't work very well with all keyboards. Also fixed an issue preventing it from working on clients in MP.

UPDATE: Slightly modified cross hair texture to add slight blue glow on edges and removed 1 pixel per line to make it more closely resemble Keen's icon, also slightly adjusted origin pixel co-ordinates to make it sit exactly where Keen's icon normally does.

The C# command is "MyKeys.OemTilde" - I don't know if keyboard type or different language keyboards would make it something different. Make sure you are disabling Keen's crosshair.

My cross hair is in the exact same place and it may be why you think its changing bloom as I had to remove the Blue 'glow' due to some changes made to the way modders can draw on the HUD by Keen, it makes it glow in a way that looks really crap, like bloom x 1000.

deactivate the crosshair from the game itself in the settings
