@Uuugggg Perhaps I can look into just adding some options for the vanilla scanner instead. Well see. Anyway, great to have your blessing :)
Uuugggg  [author] Sep 3, 2020 @ 11:48am
Yeh, go ahead, the grand total of this mod was not much code in the end -

The thing is, the work needed now is a big chunk. You'd have to restore all the stuff taken out in 1.0 since it all changed. Add back in a seeded map layer of minerals, add in a new scanner to detect them... (hopefully different graphics)

Or, I mean, just replace the existing thing... not how I'd do it though to stay vanilla-friendly.
Mlie Sep 3, 2020 @ 11:25am
@Uuugggg Whould it be ok if I made an update of this, since there are some demand for it?
g3 Sep 1, 2020 @ 11:34am
thats a bold claim seeing as you ignore all requests for your mod
Uuugggg  [author] Sep 1, 2020 @ 11:22am
Shit man, you are the worst person to have ever commented an a free, publicly available thing that a person made.
g3 Sep 1, 2020 @ 9:47am
rimworld standard ground scanner is garbage as it pings randomly in an illogical order. yours was good. but if your not gonna update it then fk ya
Uuugggg  [author] Aug 31, 2020 @ 10:04am
" !!Version 1.1 RimWorld already updated the Ground-penetrating scanner, so this is a dead mod!! "

and you call for 1.2

for shame
g3 Aug 31, 2020 @ 6:37am
1.2
CrazyDoc_SW Jun 28, 2020 @ 8:01pm
Adding my voice to the crowd asking for a 1.1 update for this. This versions still works better than the updated version in my opinion.
Papa Smoke Jun 10, 2020 @ 1:13pm
bruh, I just built the new default scanner and it's ass, please update this its far superior.
vardicdestroyer May 27, 2020 @ 6:01pm
Yeah prefer this over the new default scanner. would love to see this updated!
g3 May 8, 2020 @ 10:27am
you have a demand :)
HalototheMax89 Apr 17, 2020 @ 12:16pm
Is this going to get updated to 1.1 because i tested it and the ground penitrating scanner just makes infinate more spots untill the hole map is covered its very stupid hope this gets updated
Ramie Mar 31, 2020 @ 9:18am
I also hate the way the new vanilla scanner works on random spots around the map. It seems ridiculous. Please update your mod for 1.1 for those of us who love your design. :)
g3 Mar 30, 2020 @ 3:24pm
I liked your mod - green blocks on map to show where veins are and the fact your scanner auto expanded and showed radius
Uuugggg  [author] Mar 23, 2020 @ 10:17pm
For something similar in the meantime there is Mobile Mineral Sonar: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=755224256

Please update! 1.1 scanner behavior is still dumb. It makes no sense that it found a more distant vein before a closer one.
red Mar 20, 2020 @ 7:19am
Yeah, I know they changed the scanner in 1.1, but I loved this mod for the above ground utility. Strip-mining makes the map hideous.
Ramie Mar 10, 2020 @ 6:45pm
Please update this for 1.1, even if it is just the part for the above-ground resources. :)
Varjonyymi Mar 4, 2020 @ 3:03am
Ditto on above ground resources. Your version worked perfectly with DeepRim mining maps ^_^
Uuugggg  [author] Mar 3, 2020 @ 10:41pm
Yea, I remember that now.

That'll have to be a new thing.

That'll go on the to do list.
Draco Sicarius Mar 3, 2020 @ 8:31pm
The Ground Scanner (Vanilla) still doesn't pick up above ground resources which is what I want the scanner for...
Uuugggg  [author] Feb 24, 2020 @ 7:23pm
This is a weird mod to request a 1.1 update for

The Ground Scanner is already redesigned in 1.1, so this is the one mod not getting a 1.1 update.
Tommy Gray x Land Raider Feb 24, 2020 @ 1:39pm
update for 1.1 plz
jefkin May 26, 2019 @ 5:38am
Best part of this is scanning surface minerals, I had this idea a year ago, and even scribbled it down as a mod idea, now I can be lazy and install your mod. Thanks for that! :steamhappy:
james76543 May 12, 2019 @ 9:54am
Great idea! I'm adding it now :)
bamfhappens Mar 29, 2019 @ 6:40am
@zozilin I use that mod and this one and they seem to work fine together. It won't tell you what the mountain resources are though.
zozilin Mar 27, 2019 @ 2:03pm
@ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀᴄʜɪɴᴇ There's a mod for that. Not sure if compatible with this one. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1419872425
Goblin King Mar 27, 2019 @ 6:34am
Still wished it would say what the resources are. Maybe thats a good idea for an addon.
Kirby Mar 27, 2019 @ 5:12am
Ground Scanner is now Extra useful!

I mostly used the Ground Scanner for digging up some Expensive Materials,
Now i can find some ore veins in the hills and mountains that i have missed and hiding there...

Can't wait to try this one out... ;)
fatburner Mar 26, 2019 @ 10:39pm
nice
Komyeta Mar 25, 2019 @ 12:56pm
I cant wait to try this out, WHY IT ISNT IN THE BASE GAME YET?
Oh God Spiders No Mar 24, 2019 @ 12:25pm
I can't wait to try this, it seems like a huge improvement.
ROBOCOP Mar 23, 2019 @ 10:28am
Sorry! It works, but does not immediately show. I test mods through the developer.
ubreitfeld Mar 23, 2019 @ 8:23am
@ROBOCOP: Maybe you have a mod conflict? The mod works really as intended.

The color of the deep resource is a bright green as before, the surface resources have a deep purple.

ROBOCOP Mar 22, 2019 @ 2:55pm
You yourself wrote that he can scan the surface! - "It detects surface resources as well - I mean, why can't it find the steel deep in the mountain if it can search "deep" underground?"
ubreitfeld Mar 22, 2019 @ 10:12am
Sorry Uuugggg, it was a misunderstanding on my part. :steamsad:

I tested the scanner, it worked and it is not too slow. Thank you for your work.
Uuugggg  [author] Mar 22, 2019 @ 4:12am
Scanning speed won't be *too* slow, I mean moisture pumps take a year for their tiny circle.
ubreitfeld Mar 22, 2019 @ 1:15am
Do I have to place the scanner in the middle of the map, or is it okay if I place it in a corner of my base? Because then the scanning speed is much too slow (speed is changeable or hard coded?).

And what does "doesn't work on rocks" mean?

It's a very good idea to scan the surface resources also, so I don't need the extra MMS-Mod from MiningCo anymore. :steamhappy:
Uuugggg  [author] Mar 21, 2019 @ 7:00pm
Well that's good, since this scans for resources, it'd really suck if it worked on rock
ROBOCOP Mar 21, 2019 @ 1:11pm
does not work on rock
