commenting because someone below said it wasn't working anymore. it's working fine for me

Since nobody in the comments has mentioned it, the devs have actually taken the idea from this mod for StS2 and publicly shared a link to it in this neowsletter: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/646570/view/4472731215261073434?snr=1_5_9_

Pretty awesome QoL mod! Big W

It doesn't load the settings when you re-open the game with a different profile than the one you set the settings with.

For example, I have my second game save file loaded, I set my colors in the mod, then switch to my third game save file. Close the game and re-open, it opens my third game save file by default, and the colors I set in the mod are set to default.

If I switch profile back to the second game save file, close the game, open, it loads that file again by default along with the correct colors that I set in the mod settings.

Please fix it where the mod settings aren't tied to profile, it's very confusing.

Doesn't seem to be working anymore

jk, must have mod, thank you so much! (didn't intend to double post)
nickmao (^_−)−☆ Aug 23, 2024 @ 10:30pm
is Slay the Spire actually needed to use this mod?
DragoniteChamp Jan 6, 2024 @ 5:47pm
Hey there! Cool mod! Any chance this could be updated to be compatible with Infinite Spire's burning shops? It's the main reason I didn't end up liking it too much.

Also, again a minor nitpick, but an option to change all of the icons to be "default" colored (as in how they look unmodded) would be nice, since I just want to lightly tint them personally. (unless you just happen to know the color off the top of your head, which is also fine :P)

Same way you change the settings of other mods, you click on the mods button in the main menu and then click colored map and then click config, and then you can change them. Of course BaseMod is required.
Phoenix Nov 28, 2022 @ 11:24pm
I feel like I'm missing something obvious here, but how do I open the settings? I don't see any new buttons added anywhere.
angelar Nov 16, 2022 @ 5:45pm
I seem to be having trouble getting this to remember my colors between sessions... Any tips?
timeracers  [author] Oct 16, 2022 @ 9:36pm
@jybwob
Black is made from RGB values of 0,0,0 so that is what you get with going all zeroes.
jybwob Oct 15, 2022 @ 7:29pm
@timeracers
I tried to change the RGB to 0,0,0 and change the alpha of the outline to 0, but it still didn't work, everything was black
Leif Sep 10, 2022 @ 1:01am
nevermind! I figured it out.. if anyone else has the same issue.. it seems the mod just didn't load with any base colors.. everything was black be default.. I had to click on each Icon and create a color set for it.. didn't realize that earlier (: so glad it's working properly now! thanks for the mod homie <3
Leif Sep 8, 2022 @ 10:33pm
we have all the same mods installed by the way.. and through Steam/workshop
Leif Sep 8, 2022 @ 10:32pm
@timeracers
I can't get the mod to work for some reason.. my brother downloaded the game and did everything the same as me.. I even looked at his mod page and copied the order, still nothing ): any ideas?
timeracers  [author] Jul 30, 2022 @ 2:31pm
@Nazenn
You can easily change them to the default color by changing the RGB to 0,0,0 and changing the alpha of the outline to 0.
Nazenn Jul 22, 2022 @ 7:16pm
Really cool idea, it was something that bugged me ever since I first picked up the game on switch

Would be more useful for me if the default was uncolored and you could edit whatever colors you wanted in from there. I only wanted it to color the elites but trying to get the rest to match up was too tedious and resulted in a messy looking map

Love it, makes things easier to parse when I'm playing a run during a bout of insomnia!
vamborala Dec 4, 2021 @ 8:22am
Whenever I disable the addon, run the game, close it then enable it again and run the game the customized colors vanish and I get the all black icons back.
Bridgeburner Aug 31, 2021 @ 1:06pm
Hey timeracers, I was wondering if you could colour the items in the legend to be the same colour as the icons on the map?
muine Jul 4, 2021 @ 6:04am
very good mod. thank you.:Fistofdosh:
Eternal Noob May 11, 2021 @ 6:36pm
Now I can't play without this. Great mod!
gukinator Apr 7, 2021 @ 9:13am
Thanks for making this, very useful and works great! And it being fully customizable is awesome :). The default map is hard to read, and coloring the icons is much more helpful for me than the highlighting key that the devs implemented. An option to export/import the entire color scheme as a string would be useful for trying new things, swapping between schemes, and communicating with other players

I ended up going with a very minimal and muted color scheme so I could quickly evaluate the key nodes in a path. I set all the outline alphas to 0, the RGB of basic enemies, chests, and question rooms to 60/60/60, bosses to 80/40/0, campfires to 40/80/0, and merchants to 0/60/80

Update: It works perfectly now! Thanks!
EzekielJK Dec 1, 2020 @ 9:07am
Awesome! I'll check it out right now!

thx!!
timeracers  [author] Nov 30, 2020 @ 11:37pm
So I fixed it.
timeracers  [author] Nov 30, 2020 @ 10:34pm
Noted, will work on a fix soon.
Brobat Nov 30, 2020 @ 6:44pm
Plenty of other people mentioning that the recent patch broke this mod, but I guess I'll chime in to say mine also broke except the color of the treasure rooms still works somehow?
EzekielJK Nov 30, 2020 @ 11:28am
It stopped working today after it working flawlessly for months (years?). Glad to know that it wasn't something I did to break it but a few other mods fell apart today as well.
風啲終點 Nov 30, 2020 @ 7:57am
It seems that today’s update invalidated this mod
riccal Nov 30, 2020 @ 5:42am
Looks like the latest patch broke this mod...
Alstrolilium Nov 29, 2020 @ 10:47pm
Colored map is making all the icons completely black & harder to see, instead of colored?
livejamie Nov 18, 2020 @ 11:56am
Thanks for this! I left the icons themselves unchanged and then applied a 25% opacity color to the 4 icons I want to stand out and it looks great.

@Ruuyn - The Crit Sanvich
The config panel already changes the color of the symbol in the panel while you are editing it, so you should have continual visual feedback.
Ruuyn - The Crit Sanvich Aug 27, 2020 @ 12:34pm
Neat concept, but it needs visual feedback of how the colors change on the mod config page. The colors were still too garish after two tries editing, so I gave up.
Jokaes Dec 14, 2019 @ 8:56pm
MrJane you need to learn light color primaries
MrJane Dec 13, 2019 @ 10:20am
Why do you use Red, Blue, and Green? Where's yellow? Isn't Green unnecessary?
brickey.8 Aug 12, 2019 @ 10:06pm
So super useful, I wish this was part of the base game.
xNaquada Aug 2, 2019 @ 7:47am
should honestly be rolled into the game whenever the next update is. well done.
timeracers  [author] Jul 3, 2019 @ 10:05am
@Marauder To change the settings click on mods from the main menu then click Colored Map, finally click config.
Crixus Jul 2, 2019 @ 11:37pm
@timeracers thank you for the reply. I have never used mods before so not really sure what I have to do. I was told just subscribing to the needed mods was enough ? And I'm not sure how to get into the settings of the mod.
timeracers  [author] Jul 2, 2019 @ 11:27pm
@marauder have you tried configuring the settings of my mod?
Though my mod should have defaults that change the look of the map.
Crixus Jul 2, 2019 @ 6:48pm
I have basemod and modthespire yet my map hasn't changed and i see no option to change it. What am I missing ?
Jokaes May 8, 2019 @ 10:32am
Okey. You have to click on the icons xD
icetbr Mar 10, 2019 @ 3:47pm
If you want to reset the colors, set everything to 0 and then

Red: 85
Green: 85
Blue: 85
Asunas_Slave Feb 20, 2019 @ 5:24pm
Pretty simple mod that is very nice. This works really well with the mod that allows me to mark my path because I can quickly see what everything is.

Well done!
Azorian Feb 19, 2019 @ 9:12am
Very nice mod, should be part of the base game!
Teak Feb 18, 2019 @ 12:18pm
Ohhhh ok, I think I get it now! To lower the contrast of, say, a primarily Red icon, crank up the streams for the two non-primary colors (Blue and Green) a bit, and equally. This washes out the color a bit. Sorry for the confusion!
