excellent mod, but, quick question, why only the hats ?
with the same method, but patching PawnRenderNodeWorker_Apparel_Body.CanDrawNow you could have a dynamic rendering of armors like in dubs apparels tweaks.
it work fine on my side.

When i use this mod with dubs bad hygiene, pawn don't remove their helmets when taking showers or baths. Anything i can do to solve this?

Things like headbands would be nice to not take off indoors for example.

It is a feature of the Miho race that their ears are hidden when they wear a hat.
So, if you hide hat it when you're wearing a hat, your ears will be hidden too.

There is an issue - when pawns are lovin' their hats are shown, and after that when they go to sleep again hats disappear.
Do you think you could fix it so pawns wouldn't wear hats while lovin'?

I encountered a problem about Miho. After Miho put on a helmet with ear protection and entered the room, both the helmet and Miho's ears were hidden. Ideally, only the helmet would be hidden indoors, while keeping the ears and hair, but now they are all hidden, only showing the hair. This is not a red error. Can you fix this issue?

@LS for me it turned out to be the "Disable Texture Cache" Vanilla Extended Framework thing that I somehow missed. I disabled that and it seems to work now.

I was applying Transpiler to the same spot in my mod update and it was causing the freeze.
If you are using Choose Your Outfit, that's probably the cause. I already updated the mod and the problem should be gone.

IDK why but this mod started causing my game to freeze when I tried to load a save or start a new colony. I haven't added any new mods since I've been using it, so I don't really get why it would stop working out of nowhere like that.

@Velc[JP] - I am the author of the Mousekin Race mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2494193063) , and some of my users have reported an incompatibility with your Hats Display Selection mod - specifically, pawns wearing hooded apparel from my race mod turn invisible if your HDS mod is active.

Please check your Discord account for technical details of the bug and possible solutions.

Would it be possible for adding options for hiding and displaying beards separately from hair?
Some Hats cover the top of the head, but not enough of the face to justify it's coverage.

I have a problem where they keep their hats on in the Hot Spring. Works fine everywhere else but in the Hotspring they are naked but keep the Helmets on.

Addressed the issue of some hats of the HAR race not being added to the list and the hair being hidden when equipped.

After sorting the mods according to the instructions, I found that miho Race and Ratkin Race had one bald head and the other had no ears.

Add <li>Apparel_VisageMask</li> to "<HatsShowSelection.HatsList>" in the config file.

<HatsShowSelection.HatsParamList> and
<HatsShowSelection.HatsDraftedList> and
<HatsShowSelection.DraftedSettingList> and add one setting each to.

I did as you said, deleted the config, unsubscribed, resubscribed, then booted rimworld, but unfortunately its still not there for me.

I opened up the config file, and for mine at least, visage mask is not in the list, im not sure if another mod is causing a conflict here (not doubting you at all that it should be there!)

if you have any other advice id greatly appreciate it! maybe load order or if i manually added <li>Apparel_VisageMask</li>?

The settings at the time of draft can be set using the checkboxes on the right side of the list. Please check it.

A visage mask exists on my list.
Either re-subscribe to the mod or delete the mod's config file at
C:\Users\your name\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config
and then try running Rimworld.

not sure if this is a bug, but visage mask isnt on the list of headgear i can turn off, which is unfortunate cause visage mask is really ugly and i just made like 5 of them :(

love the mod! could you possibly add an option for "display when drafted" or "display when weapon drawn"? its quite immersion breaking that colonists would wear their flak or cataphract helmets all the time

Dubs Apparel Tweaks is completely broken in 1.5, so I pivoted to this mod.

I still don't get where difference between 'standart' and 'with hair' when my pawns go hairless while they actually should combine their curls and headgear (middle option)


And absence of option 'always render it up' is sad for me as a part of 'even in death i serve'-cascet gang

Another found issue, When "hide hat when asleep" is active, downed pawns or pawns that sleep on the ground became bald with not hat.

Hello there, it seems that there is still a problem with your mod and skin layers apparels, they simply don't render on the pawns (balaclava, etc...) it affect CE and vanilla armor expanded as well.

I tested it with Combat Extended active and with a correct load order.

If you're looking to change this, you have to go into the VFE Pirates mod file, go into 1.4\Defs\ThingDefs_Misc\Apparel_Headgear.xml and change <hideHead>true</hideHead> to <hideHead>false</hideHead> .

For EVERYONE who is experiencing HEADLESS WARCASKETS: VFE Pirates makes the game stop drawing the pawns' heads when they are turned into warcaskets. This issue is not something this mod touches.

Tested again. Mod options GUI bug occurs when entering option page via title menu. It would work fine if entering option page during a gameplay. Seems it isn't necessary to make a change.

There's a bug in mod options page. Tested with Core+DLC+Harmony+Hugslib only, when trying to change individual display method, all contents except first line would disappear at the moment clicking the selection circle.

It seems that there is a conflict with Vanilla Psycasts Expanded and it has caused a bug.

can confirm, all HAR plus NAL face hates this mod and results in breaking the rendering of extra parts like ears

Did some testing, my thoughts on the main 3 hair/hat mods:

Show Hair with Hats - No toggle for indoors and pawns wear helmets in bed. Disables 'Gradient Hair' mod unless an alternate (worse looking) option is selected in mod options. Otherwise a solid choice.
Hats Display Selection - Lot's of weirdness on sideways move, vanishing equipment etc. Sometimes bionic eye textures vanish.
Dubs Apparell Tweaks - Does not work without 'alternate draw technique' selected in mod options and a bit of trial & error finding the right scale value. Indoor toggles working ok, pawns do get naked for sleep (which I kinda like now).

All three mods:
- cause blurriness when zooming to certain levels in Camera+ mod.
- seem extra unstable when using Facial Animation WIP (I have dropped using it anyway)

Even with Camera+ cache disabled (and no other mods) I have an odd issue where hats stop following drafted & indoor settings whenever a pawn's sprite is the sideways-facing graphic. Also zooming in seems to cause hats to pop back sometimes.

Warcaskets helmet disappearing heads can be confirmed. It's funny that pawn heads are missing when turned into a warcasket.

Reporting a quick couple of incompatibilities: [Vanilla Expanded Factions - Pirates]' Warcaskets. This mod causes them to be headless while indoors. Allowing certain specific headgear to remain on *permanently* would fix this.
Also, [Moyo Glowy Spots] mod. Moyo Glowy Spots changes the Moyo hair to be a bodyAddon, which this mod apparently hides in all sorts of situations. Results in bald Moyo whenever they're wearing a hat.

also hats set to only show when drafted - were only visible when i zoomed in really close. hope these issues gets some fix soon!
