Fix by lordravenx didn't seem to work for me, but I can definitely confirm that once I removed this mod everything was fine again and the visual bugs stopped. Fantastic mod and absolutely needed for me, and I hope whatever issues there is can be fixed eventually. Take your time though!

So I tested it. I did have the same problem as snek and binish.
My game was unplayable (endless exceptions).
I played for a while with another mod (no hats), and then tried this mod again after seeing this:

MOD load order with Alien Race :
Harmony
CORE
Combat Extended / [NL] Facial Animation - WIP
Humanoid Alien Race / Garam, Race Addon
this MOD
...
Race MOD

So I placed this mod right after Humanoid Alien Race and it works!
So:
Make sure your race mods are all AFTER this mod.
I switched off "Hide hats indoors" in the options.

Now it works. I hope this helps those who have problems.

No issues were found with the gravship or indoors. If you're using multiple mods, they may be conflicting.
If you could tell us which mods are conflicting, I can investigate, but it's difficult to address when only the error is reported.

WARNING: this mod has been causing my pawns to appear invisible when inside the gravship for oddyssey. I did a ton of debugging and this appeared to be the sole mod doing it. I tested with other mods to see if it was a compatibility thing but after launching with just this mod ive determined that this was the cause. to the creator please fix

I tried using VFE and related mods but did not encounter any errors.
Please also try deleting the config file located at \AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config to reset the settings.
If you know of any other conflicting mods, please let me know.

Like @Aoidston said, this conflicts with VFE as of now. When conflicting it makes colonists invisible and damages performance. Still love this mod tho :steamhappy:

It seems to conflict with the September 30 update of Vanilla Expanded Framework, constantly showing rendering errors. Once Hats Display Selection is disabled, everything works fine.

I really appreciate this mod and have used it in previous Rimworld versions. However, in the current version, I am unable to play the game. I was able to isolate the problem of infinite loading blank screen to this mod by disabling all mods and adding them back one-by-one. For some reason, this mod causes a blank screen and I cannot progress into any save file world or begin a new world after pawn selection. I hope the issue is fixed, as this mod has been very nice to have.

Anyone having compatibility issues with DMS Mobile Dragoon where the pawns are wearing the mech suits as hats instead of on their body?

To add to the previous two's comment, it seems that wearing/transmog any type of modded hat/helmet will throw ArgumentOutOfRange and not render the pawn while vanilla hat/helmet simply does not show up.

Having the identical issue as Gilius Gaming - will have to disable this mod to continue my save, game is unplayable with it right now. Even opening the mod menu for this mod in game shows a blank page.

Since the latest update, the mod causes an ArgumentOutOfRangeException on all human pawns. The error occurs during rendering (PawnRenderer/DrawDynamicThings).

One of the arrays or lists used for graphics (e.g. graphics, offsets, drawSizes, or bodyType mappings) does not have the expected number of entries. RimWorld (or HAR if used) iterates over four rotations (North, South, East, West) or all body types, but the list provided by the mod is shorter. This leads to an index access that doesn’t exist, which throws the exception and breaks pawn rendering.

Every pawn on the map fails to draw, making the game unplayable.


I had to force myself to disable it.
I have too many mods, so I can't say whether it's the cause or if it's an incompatibility issue.
In any case, I didn't have any problems before the update.

Whenever my pawns entered the Grav-Ship they become invisible and errors pop up. I finally narrowed down all my mods to this mod being the cause of it. Not sure why

Wearing the vac-helmet didn't cause any particular problems.

Invisible pawn bug remained for me after the update, opening the settings didn't change it. Affected all pawn wearing the vac-helmet. Had to disable the mod to fix it.

Any idea why the Burka is still showing? I selected hide that one, but it still has the head-covering that hides their face and hair.

I was having the exception spam that caused invisible characters and opening the mod settings fixed it. Thanks for the quick fixes.

It seemed to be difficult to understand, so we changed the explanation about updating the configuration file.
If a MOD is updated during gameplay, open the MOD options screen once to automatically update the settings file.

I think I fixed the bug where Pawn disappears when updating the MOD.
Please open the MOD options and update the settings file.

The new setting is making pawns invisible for me too. I have to keep their hats on no matter if indoor or sleep or else they go invisible

specifically when the 'auto hide hats indoor' option is selected and the specific pawn is indoors.. when that option is disabled or the pawns are outdoors, pawns are drawn normally and it doesnt throw errors.

its so odd. I removed this mod and it fixed the problem, then i saved again with the mod disabled, then re enabled the mod, re entered my save, and no no one is invisible anymore.

Not sure what caused it but it seems to be working again as intended. Thanks for the mod, love using it and was nervous it was broken.

This mod worked great until about a year into a game when it randomly made all my human pawns invisible. today actually it was fine around 2 pm my time, and now at 8 pm my time its broken. if you updated something it might have broken the mod

Added indoor display options. Even if the option to hide indoors is enabled, hats with this option enabled will still be displayed indoors.

Great mod! My one suggestion would be to add the option for auto hiding indoors to each individual hat that way I can choose which hats get hidden indoors. thanks!

Great mod, but is there any way to allow specific hats to be displayed indoors? I want my chef to have their hat on while they cook, but since it's indoors it gets removed. Same with the surgical hat and my doctor, I'd like them to wear it while they are working in the hospital.

Lovely mod, thank you! It does however seem to ignore the vanilla Interface option to hide hats in the colonist bar. Could I possibly ask for a colonist bar toggle as well?

i wish i can find a mod that allowed me to hide hats on specific Pawns not all of them i wanna hide a cataphract helmet on one of my pawns cause the bionics he has just looks janky with it on, but i don't wanna hide the helmet on my other pawns who have it cause i love the cataphract look, but so far none of these hat mods i been look through seem to have this feature :(

I just wanted a mod that shows the headgear when drafted and doesn't hide hair. This is perfect so far and it has a good :steamthumbsup: simple UI (unlike the other mod we won't talk about here). The indoor/outdoor feature is also nice to have!
