I think the safest route will be to stay here with your great mod ^^
PS : what happened to my keyboard (because I won't complain over my own fingers, it would imply it's my fault xP), my previous comment is so wrong ! xD Thanks for reading it successfully !
I don't have any plans to do that sorry. As far as I recall Regrowth Core more or less does that with its implementation of this.
If you don't have options do you know any mod doing that ?
As long as its unroofed blood should disappear with rain/snow even without this mod. If it's not, then another mod must have changed it for whatever reason. As for this mod as far as I'm aware the changes only apply to filth spawned after the mod is added.
Filth will vanish when it rains or snows. If you want filth to disappear quicker when on snow I'm afraid that's out of my depth as I can't code. This mod simply makes use of the existing vanilla system which allows setting a duration and whether something vanishes with rain/snow.
The mod description should be rather clear on what this mod does. The vanilla game removes filth after 35-50 days, my mod shortens this to 14-15 days. Also in the vanilla game some types of filth wash away with rain/snow, my mod changes this so all types of filth wash away with rain/snow. Overall this mod is not necessary, however the changes it provides ensures filth as a whole will be removed a lot quicker especially when it rains/snows.
This mod doesn't change any behaviour when it comes to cleaning. If you want to change how that functions you'll need another mod.
No worries, good to hear you worked it out.
Maybe it's the problem with grazing land and fertile field altogether. But more testing is needed... Thanks again.
That's not coming from this mod. This mod is a simple xml patch and it only touches filth defs. You'll have to look through your mod list to see where its coming from. It sounds like you have some sort of terraforming mod that changes terrain with rainfall.
replaced it will turn it back. no need for rain. any tips? im using fertile land
It's a very simple xml patch using functions coded in the Core game. If anything it might improve performance since the game won't keep hundreds or thousands of stacks of filth on the map for 3-4 quadrums.
Thank you for the update. It takes time to adjust to the changes of the new DLC and you responded pretty quick actually. Great work!
@Zetic
I've uploaded a fix for it. It won't change existing trails but it will change any trails made after. Sorry for being a bit slow on this. I had no idea the danger these things posed was so serious.
Once I've seen how these things work I can make a judgement on it. If they're making lairs in the middle of nowhere and these marks are the only way to find them, then yes I'll have to put in an exception. If that happens I'll probably add a toggle for it in my tweaks collection.
It may make sense for it to vanish in the rain but to be on the safe side, I think it may be best to make an exception.
I haven't encountered one of those yet. It's tagged as false for rain in the files but then so is the majority of the stuff my mod patches. If its required for something I'll make sure to exclude it. However it sounds like its simply a trail to help find them? It kind of makes sense to vanish in the rain.
I think not, also that would require coding so its out of my expertise. On that topic though Alpha Animals has an amoeba animal that eats filth.
It was updated nearly a month ago for 1.5. It's also a very simple xml patch, yes it works fine with anomaly.
In theory yes, however, I've been unable to verify if it actually improves performance in the current Rimworld versions. If nothing else it should help reduce save size a little since the game no longer needs to store filth data as much.
Sorry but I've had no reason to make a config for this mod and that's unusual and specific. At the current settings blood will last 14-15 days which is vastly lower than the vanilla value of 35-40 days. If you aren't on a very dry biome one thing you could do is just set a fire outside your base. Unless you've got a mod disabling it the game should eventually throw rain at you to kill the fire which will wipe the map completely clean of all filth.
It shouldn't have much if any impact on pawn mood. It reduces the vanish duration on filth to 14-15 days and makes everything wash away with rain/snow. If you have filth standing around that long you obviously have no intention of cleaning it in the first place. It's also not realistic to ignore the filth in your base because filth spreads filth when people walk over it.
By the time any of it starts vanishing on its own it's probably created numerous times more filth. What vanishes from time or weather will be everything outside of your base. Filth from battles, mined rock or goop from insect infestations.
