Use the ship modify tool in build mode to resize the ship down to your needs. The game has that tool to allow players to be more flexable with their designs that they download from workshop. As for being too big this ship is based off one from the gundam series and that one was 2 to 3 km long depending on the source you use. this one is about 160 units long and 1 unit is 10 meters in avorion so its about 1600 meters long. That makes this ship somewhere between 3/4 to 1/2 scale.
