For anyone interested: at max pop (100) with a full stack of mangudai/HCA as primary damage dealers, it took 4 waves of fully upgraded Hussars (about 25-30 at a time) as meat shields to break the Jin gate and take down the castle. So it IS doable, but it's unquestionably kinda tedious.
If you're gonna re-do this, I suggest give the player some way to deal with the fortifications that's not OP like a treb would be- maybe a 1-shot opportunity to get some good ol' fashioned petards? Make it a high risk-high reward opportunity to finish the defenses in one shot, IF you can overcome the ChuKoNu unit spam?
Well, I guess it's time to resign myself to the fact that I need to cancel all my social life for a while again, and focus on the important things. AoE2 D.E campaigns >:D
Looking forward to it, thanks again ^_^
This creates a weakness in their defense, because Mangudai or cavalry archers can breach that wall outside range of the city's towers. And once your units can get in, it's pretty inevitable that all those towers and production buildings will go down.
Not sure if there's a way to make those trees off limit for the AI, but right now it looked like it made its own weakness.
I have been fortunate enough to be able to continue my relationship with Forgotten Empires for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. You will be able to see some more of my scenarios included as official content for the game. I will also be releasing some custom scenarios as well so stay tuned.
Just wanted to extend my great respect, appreciation, and a sincere wish that you will continue to grace us with such wonders <3
And looking here is see : "omg the chinese was hard."
Or :"damn my play time 6 hours"
Then is me : 3 hours wow that a lot, But i completely wipped everyone off
After i defeated all the tribes i went for the chinese, but thats where it went tedious and i stopped. I know the mongols didn't have siege, but attacking walls with swords isnt very immersive too, haha. I strongly feel like that part of the campaign could have been a separate scenario with as much details put into it as the rest of the map, when conquering the tribes. For example you could have that mission where you buy/capture siege weapons for a ton of gold, it makes it challenging, but not tedious.
Once again, great work. Keep it up!
My enemies kept killing them as those horses change sides the minute they see you
Nothing more needs adding, it was simply... exquisite.
Please continue!
