Looks great ! Does someone know a good Shield bearer class mod ? I am on LWOTC but none of my classs can wear shield :(

I am also having trouble finding shields for the sparks. I've got all the way up to T3 shields unlocked. I've done most, if not all, of the researches. I don't see any Proving Ground project for them, and I can't build them in engineering. When I filter by category for spark_shield, I see nothing listed in engineering. I can use the shields with normal soldiers just fine. Is there any known conflicts that would prevent just the sparks from using the ballistic shields, or am I missing a step to get them unlocked? Thanks.

BUG: SPECIALIST VS GREMLIN RANGE VS SHIELD LOGIC CTD

Specialists still think they can hack at any range when equipped with a WOTC ballistic shield, this leads to an immediate crash to desktop as the game overloads on the logic and thinking simply not being there for a non-existent GREMLIN unit.

Any mods that address this issue for WOTC in the meantime?

Weird, animations, stats and even skills applied by paladin class works perfectly fine, but only with CV model. both BM and MG models are not seen by my game and can't be consoled in. Sucks to use shiny powered armor with rusty board. Any suggestions how to solve this?

Why can't I equip the shield showcased on the seventh image as a ghost template? Even turning off all filters, I can't find the damn shield. It should be there regardless of my tech level.

It seems the Alien Hunters Crossbow is a little broken with the shields as it goes full auto and just fires a bunch of projectiles whenever used with it. Would love if it could be excluded. For now I've just made the shields only usable with pistols, smgs, bulpups and swords.

it seems the animation won't play when using shield bash..anyone had this before/got a fix? Using True Primary Secondaries (Beta) if thats perhaps a cause?

seems like there's a bug with Lost Tower mission : the BIT is replaced by a shield for the SPARK, softlocking you from completing the mission.

Cool looking mod but there's a weird bug when using the shield. The soldier loads into a mission and then can't move at all, ever. They don't see the movement UI grid and just can't do anything.

Cannot equip anything but basic ballistic shield (normal soldier, don't have any Sparks or augmented soldiers).
I have basically finished the tech tree, the option to research or build improved shields has never appeared. Playing with Amalgamation + Covert Infiltration + 5 tier weapon system.

there seems to be a bug that causes soldiers that are able to normally use swords in they're secondary slot(default ranger or modded classes), to not be able to use swords as their primary with the shield in secondary, and apparently the sword is labelled as Sharpshooter only, right.

need help plz

Same only T1 shields show up, they don't appear in research rewards, even console command adding T2 and 3 doesn't work, its almost as though they aren't in the game at all.

I can build kinetic shields after i researched magnetic, but i can only equip tier 1 shields. The soldier does not see / find the tier 2 shields, ONLY tier 1. I don't understand what i can do to fix this. I am using the mod true primary secondaries, instead of primary secondaries. (using Amalgamation classes).

Upon Armor upgrade, I Can't seem to get a tier 2 or 3 On Sparks.

Changed up my load order because this was coming before True Primary Secondaries. But still doesn't fix the issue. Ran a console command to manually give myself BallisticShield_MG 1, but I still can't pick it for my Phalanx class.

Everything seems to be working great for me, but as I progress down the science tree no new class of shield comes up. Stuck at tier 1. In the description it says "unlocked at medium / heavy armor". Is that supposed to mean plated / powered?

The shield points and providing cover to allies does not seem to work with True Primary secondaries, if a patch could be made to allow this, this mod would be absolute top tier.

if it works in a similar way to hunker down, does the shieldwall make you get 10 (the vanilla 30 -20 from the modded effect) defense and 50 dodge total?

That should be no problem. Your mod launcher might report some missing dependencies, but you can ignore that. You could probably play this without any primary secondaries mod, but that would limit shields to shotguns and assault rifles.

Apparently I am the dumbest person on Earth. As I am unable to find any way to test this even with console commands, and cannot find the answer anywhere.
With these shields, is the character holding them still being flanked with full penalties when in the open?

so for those complaining about this not working in lwotc, and mg/bm shields not being available:

open xcom lwotc mod config files, usually at this path for steam users:

path to steam folder\workshop\content\268500\1416242202\Config\XComLW_Overhaul.ini

search for "TemplarBallisticShield_MG", TemplarBallisticShield_BM, those normally next to each other, copy-paste those twice and switch template names for copied lines to
ItemTemplateName="BallisticShield_MG"
ItemTemplateName="BallisticShield_BM"

ItemTemplateName="SparkBallisticShield_MG"
ItemTemplateName="SparkBallisticShield_BM"

Those should add build options to your engineering, shields normally located at weapons tab, hf XD

Is it possible to set this in a utility slot as well? I'm having issues where, as a secondary weapon for a ranger or melee weapon user, the weapon being in a primary or utility slot, will not activate their skills based on melee weapons.

perhaps the most niche request of the month:

I have always disliked the aesthetic of shields. Is there a mod/ option that either
a) makes shields invisible? (not preferred) or
b) makes the shield an ephemeral "light" emanating from a device held in the hand?
