Loving the mod, though, dont use with the star wars weapon mod, thought I was safe underground....the drones said "What mountain?"
99overlords Jun 11, 2021 @ 11:40am
can I use this on my own antana to make a drone farm where they will spawn get disabled from abouve and then grinded to farm for free items
Splitsie  [author] Jul 5, 2020 @ 2:37am
Use the Assertive Installations mod, this was created before that and was integrated into the assertive installations mod :)
Benji Jul 5, 2020 @ 12:45am
or should i use Assertive Installation mod instead
Benji Jul 5, 2020 @ 12:42am
so i actually have to place every programmable block before i start my game?
Templar Jul 31, 2019 @ 2:38am
Guess I could modify the drones for space/atmo flight. Thanks.
Splitsie  [author] Jul 30, 2019 @ 3:31am
The script works very simply, it increases the range of the antenna periodically. What the antenna does will depend on how you set it up. The default pirate antenna names can spawn space capable or atmospheric drones, if you do the atmospheric ones there's a reasonable chance they would survive spawning and falling but I'm not 100% on that :/
Templar Jul 30, 2019 @ 1:01am
Hello. Would it be possible to stick this in a large ship like 12k above the planet surface, maybe using a ship planetary orbit script, to send drones at you on the surface every time it passes over?

Or does this script only work on planets? Ty
Greg Apr 8, 2019 @ 2:26am
Thank you, renaming the antenna worked, now for an extra challenge, Assertive Installations will be subbed as well
Splitsie  [author] Apr 8, 2019 @ 1:35am
It's a script you would have to place into the programmable blocks on those bases and also rename those base antennas to use it, it doesn't modify existing stuff. I've got a pack of bases that do use the script that I've been working on updating for a while called Assertive Installations, they'll throw drones at you and use this script https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1464803311

Splitsie, quick question, is this compatible with following mod (Surface Occupation by Meridius_IX / Lucas)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1135484957

I have set up everything, double checked everything but bases by this mod doesn't seem to spawn drones
the ace Mar 30, 2019 @ 10:25am
hi its not about the mod good vids have a good day :steamhappy:
Splitsie  [author] Mar 12, 2019 @ 5:25pm
Definitely the better way to go, fingers crossed the update I'm working on for it won't take me too much longer as it'll be a big improvement :)
flacwby Mar 12, 2019 @ 3:20pm
Thanks Splitsie. Yes I did that, but actually I just installed the Assertive Installations and I'm using that instead. Thanks again.
Splitsie  [author] Mar 12, 2019 @ 2:15pm
Silly question but are you right clicking on the screen with nothing in your hands? You can get into the pb other ways though, just enter the control panel through whatever method you prefer then go to the programmable block and you'll have the menu you get. Assuming you've enabled scripts in your works :)

Apologies if this is stuff you've already tried, with so many new players lately I'm trying not to assume any knowledge :)
flacwby Mar 12, 2019 @ 10:01am
Is this still working in 1.189? It's probably me but I can place the Prog block, but I can't right click on it to program it. How do you setup the prog block while in creative?
Dune Dec 6, 2018 @ 2:47am
Hi Splitsie, modified the code some to first check if antenna was found (null check), Echo antenna name and antenna radius. Here is code if you want it. https://gist.github.com/ChuckSavage/65e31355a4474beb94366a86c941bd3c
stedo Aug 10, 2018 @ 3:38pm
The idea came from your survival series :D
Splitsie  [author] Aug 10, 2018 @ 3:25pm
Thanks, and very sensible building a pit big enough for the whole thing :)
stedo Aug 10, 2018 @ 6:32am
Finally got round to trying it. Great mod.

Only had limited sucess but now I am here I can see what I missed. (rename antenna in script) but despite only partial sucess there was a huge increase in drone activity in waves as promised and it was great. made a massive drill pit that can fit an entire drifting persuant. it is brilliant.
Clean up is turning into a full time job.

well done Splitsie and Rich_27
Splitsie  [author] Jul 27, 2018 @ 5:55pm
No worries, glad it was an easy fix :)
Geordie_Carl Jul 27, 2018 @ 5:37pm
DoH moment hahaha i had drones turned off, sorry to bother you man :(
Geordie_Carl Jul 27, 2018 @ 5:35pm
i assume ive got drones turned on but ive literally just got home from work (UK time) so will check since the wife is asleep and im not missed :)
Splitsie  [author] Jul 27, 2018 @ 4:45pm
If the antenna of the enemy base has become visible to you, has the correct name (one of the drone spawning names e.g. MiningOperationSite, RemoteDroneAssembly) and you have drones enabled on world settings then it should work spawn enemies.

If the range of the antenna on the enemy base is increasing then the script is doing everything it's supposed to do, the rest is handled by the vanilla drone spawning mechanics
Geordie_Carl Jul 27, 2018 @ 3:13am
Splitsie, bit of an issue with this. could easily be me having a doh! moment but im new to the whole script thing haha
Placed several bases and added the script etc. fiddled with ranges and times but once the bases antenna reaches me i see the base but no enemy spawns..
ive only recently placed my base's beacon is that the issue or do i have to tell the ai bases to spawn specific ships
thanks man
keep engineering :)
JPF55 May 16, 2018 @ 8:06am
You should add this to the Survival, Maybe... workshop item :)
Splitsie  [author] May 13, 2018 @ 5:29pm
You'll need to manually place the bases then add the script, or add a blueprint to the spawn list with the programmable block and script already in it - I'm not sure where you'd need to add the blueprint though
MeatloafBomb May 13, 2018 @ 5:25pm
Cool!
Splitsie  [author] May 13, 2018 @ 5:20pm
Yep, the space based Pirate bases work in the same manner I think. I haven't tested it but from my understanding it should work :)
MeatloafBomb May 13, 2018 @ 4:42pm
Would this work in space as well?
Splitsie  [author] May 12, 2018 @ 7:28pm
No problems at all, always happy to help - if I have a clue what I'm doing :P
NexeL May 12, 2018 @ 7:26pm
Oh I get it now. Thanks so much. I'm not much of a coder, so all this is pretty much gobbeldygook to me. lol I set the 120.0F time down to 3 and NOW I see the range moving. Thanks for helping/putting up with me Splitsie. lol
Splitsie  [author] May 12, 2018 @ 7:23pm
What time delay do you have? Set it to less than 10s then see if everything's working as the default is 5 minutes so you won't see anything for 5 mins after you run it
NexeL May 12, 2018 @ 7:16pm
Though, while I'm experimenting, I really want an antenna to increase its range, not spawning any drones. It's for my own survival scenario I'm making. No matter what I try, I can't get the antenna to increase its range by this script. I made sure to follow your instructions to the letter, and nothing's happening. Any ideas on that?
Splitsie  [author] May 12, 2018 @ 6:50pm
Glad you got it worked out :)
NexeL May 12, 2018 @ 6:46pm
never mind. I just watched the video. D'oh
Dogwater-Gaming69 May 7, 2018 @ 4:54pm
oh thanks i dont figure it out
ps: i love your yt series
Splitsie  [author] May 7, 2018 @ 4:23pm
The script only adjusts the antenna range, once you're inside that range the bases spawn drones continuously, if you set the maximum range to just barely cover your base you'll only be in the spawn range for short periods of time
Dogwater-Gaming69 May 7, 2018 @ 1:57pm
but if i enable it the drone wawes ignore the script and spawn ridicolus amaouts of drones
but the timer in the script is set correctly
i dont know what to do
Splitsie  [author] May 7, 2018 @ 1:53pm
Yes, without drones the bases can't spawn anything
Dogwater-Gaming69 May 7, 2018 @ 9:39am
this script dosent work
you need drones active?
Tsubasa May 3, 2018 @ 8:10am
Yeah, I guess that would be a bit overly ambitious.
Have sir ever played the game Strike Suit Infinity (or similar arcade games in general)? In a round some ships will spawn and attack player crafts, then as the round progress more ships and flagships will be spawned into the game attacking the players, until the finale where the largest fleet with many big ships will spawn and attempt to destroy the player within the time frame.
This is what I was having in mind. Probably will be one hell of a fun server to play with for war monging engineers.
Splitsie  [author] May 2, 2018 @ 1:32pm
If you don't want it to reset, you should be able to set the maximum range to a number higher than the actual antenna max range. Since the antenna will never reach it it will never reset. Or set the minimum and maximum to values only a small amount apart, then start the antenna at a small range, it'll hit the max and then reset to the minimum which is only slightly smaller :)

@arai-san some of that sounds possible, but it's going to be a big undertaking. You'd be messing with the spawn mechanics and that stuff is well and truly beyond me :(
StarCpt May 2, 2018 @ 12:03pm
How can I edit the script so the antenna range doesn't reset?
Tsubasa May 2, 2018 @ 10:26am
Hi Splitsle!

Currently I am thinking is there a way such that I can spawn in a given amount of ships at the same time according to my needs, all have a sort of custom AI that functions like RDAV's fleet command settings, except they are controlled by NPCs only. The idea is such that they will assault the players in waves like a full-on fleet battle.

Unfortunately I do not know C#....
Splitsie  [author] May 2, 2018 @ 6:12am
I hope so :)
Smokki  [developer] May 2, 2018 @ 5:47am
That's great! This will make pirate bases much more enjoyable.
Splitsie  [author] May 2, 2018 @ 5:15am
There's a random factor included in it, so at each preset time interval a random amount between e.g. 50-250 is added, so you can make the spread very broad or quite tight by modifying that :)
Smokki  [developer] May 2, 2018 @ 3:55am
This is nice idea! Is the antenna range increase same all the time or is there randomness in it? So for example once the antenna might reach max distance in 10 minutes, and then other time in 30 minutes?
