To be honest I'm not even sure if fall foliage is a vanilla mechanic or from ReGrowth as any info about it is nonexistent when I search for it. I have no idea when the issue started for me either as this is my first time playing a temperate biome since Biotech released.
The snowy trees still work perfectly fine once it snows, but otherwise I get a lot of gray foliage during the fall and winter quadrums. If you are able to reproduce the issue I would really appreciate it if you looked into it :)
If it helps, I haven't heard anyone complain that this mod tanks performance.
Since they're PNG files though, at least they have transparent backgrounds and they're not compressed. You might be able to setup some kind of auto-action in Photoshop to color select the black outlines and isolate the other colors within the outline for modification, but I imagine there would still be some level of manual adjustment or touching up which still isn't exactly ideal (not to mention possibly needing to re-convert everything to vector assets)
@LoopKat, So, the assets that the game uses (png) and the original (Photoshop (or, more ideally, vector based)) source files are almost always two completely separate things. Kind of like making a grilled cheese, once you melt the cheese together it's really hard to go back and add in a slice of ham. For the core game and dlc's, Tynan is kind enough to provide the art source files, so adding a snow later and melting it back together is relatively easy (provided you have the time and inclination).

Re: the texture scaling, to save you the hassle or someone having to pay, why not just use an AI to upscale the textures that already exist? Sure they might look a little bit off but I doubt it would be 'eyesore bad'. You could look into how the AI works whilst it works and then just publish the results there after; just a thought.

In other words, the functionality is there (all it takes is some super simple XML), but it's on the original authors to actually make the art.
is it compatible with "Vanilla Expanded Collection" and "ReGrowth Collection" ?
