Almost exactly a year later, it is finally done!

Hey, it's quite the occasion, so I get to ramble! I mean, it is my changelog, so I'll do what I want! But, for those of you who don't want to read that, I completely understand. So here's the changelog first.



- Translation Completion -
[] That's right, we're 100% English now! So grab your, uh, tea? Personally, I'm more of a hot chocolate kind of guy...

- Parity Updates -
[] The original authors work fast and hard. Sometimes it makes me cry a little, truth be told. So...many...changes... But alas, I love their work, and so here are the parity updates for the latest version.
[] They've put out a new mod which separates the Maid content from the Hm Invasion mod, further separating the mod into individual parts so you can use only exactly what you want in your game. I understand why some people may get annoyed by this, but I personally think it's an overall good thing.
[] The Maid content is separate from all the others and can be used entirely by itself, or in any combination alongside the other mods. It makes it easier to have your children grow up with better stats in exactly what you want, rather than being at the mercy of the vanilla game's systems.

Future updates, parity updates, fixes, corrections, better translations, etc, will all still be coming. Support for these patches will not suddenly stop just because the goal of a complete translation has been reached. The potential for entirely new anime mods to be added to the list of English patches is also there.



Now, onto my ramblings. You should be used to these by now.

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I started working on this. If you've read some previous update logs, it's probably apparent at a few points that I felt defeated and daunted by the huge task. Even with GPT 4 doing so much of the heavy work I previously had to do alone, it's still been less than an easy road to here. I wanted to quit at numerous points, and, even on the lead up to this update, I still felt that way, as I was just so ready to be done and over with it.

Working on this translation consumed a lot of my life, as a good friend could attest to. The number of times I've said something along the lines of "Nah, can't hang out tonight, I gotta work on this translation thing" is a bit more than I'd like to admit. Not that I think you'll be reading this, but if you are, sorry about that! But if we're both being honest, we both know I'll soon find something else to obsess over. Umm...sorry in advance.

Turns out that translating anything is hard work, let alone trying to do it well. Having GPT 4 was a huuuugeeeee level-up for the translation. It was like having a personal assistant that could spin on a dime and give me all the relevant information and context for some cultural aspect, nuance of words and terms, and just help to provide a much more accurate translation.

Now, the only problem I found with that...is that this access to virtually all the information I could want meant that the rabbit holes I could go down was fuckin' massive! The amount of research I did, across various search engines, would make all my English and History teachers proud. No, I will not cite my sources. Source is I made it the hell up! AGHHH!

And even then, there are still a number of things which GPT 4 couldn't properly answer. Sometimes because it had never seen the information before, and other times because language is just too complex a thing. With each language having its own, rich cultural background and little nuances which might not exist in the language you're trying to translate to. So in those moments, I just had to bite the bullet and try my absolute best™

But, it was a fun challenge nonetheless, and overall I'm quite happy with how it all turned out. Sooo...yea. What more is there to say?

- Small Update -
[] This is a teeny tiny update to address more minor issues with the translation.
[] It includes fixes such as; Fixing overflowing text, clarifying certain effects, and squashing typos. How do they keep getting in here???

- Crash fixed (for real this time)! -
[] What I thought might've been an issue with either the original mod or the game itself, was actually completely my fault! Who would have thought. You really can't trust nobody, not even yourself. Or in this case, especially yourself!

[] Anyways, thanks to one of the devs from the original mod, I figured it out and the issue has now been actually fixed, while restoring the functionality of the English patch.

- Crash Prevention -
[] Reverts 1 change made in the last patch which would cause a crash.

- Small Patch -
[] A rather small amount of little fixes here and there to address any last-minute issues.

This is one of the bigger updates to this mod! The sheer amount of gameplay text, and just text in general, which this file deals with is massive. And it used to be much, MUCH bigger, making it extremely daunting. That's essentially why it went so long without a proper translation cleanup, despite being so important. I've had nightmares involving that file.

God bless the devs for breaking it down into smaller pieces. Even if the amount of work is essentially the same, the mental toll I take by looking at it is so much less.



- A crash caused by this mod was fixed! -
[] I'm not sure why these two specific pieces of text are causing a crash, but they've been commented out for the time being.

- Parity Updates -
[] All mods have been brought up to parity with the originals.

- New name, who dis? -
This mod used to be called "Hm Invasion & Azur Lane English Patch"
It has changed its name to "Anime Armada - English Patch Central" to reflect the fact that it is no longer an English patch for just those mods.

While this translation patch started off as, and will always mainly be for, translating the mods created by 文月瑠衣 and co, going forward it will feature more than just the Hm Invasion and Azur Lane mods. The next major addition will be the inclusion of 文月瑠衣's Girls' Frontline mod.

Other anime mods may be included in the future.

However, this collection of English patches will always mainly be about translating 文月瑠衣's mods; That currently being Hm Invasion, Azur Lane, and Girls' Frontline. If they make more in the future, I will probably also work to translate them.
