-5 more files have been cleaned with the help of GPT 4 in this update.
[] As usual, GPT 4 has greatly increased the accuracy and cleanness of the translation.
[] Some text has been slightly altered or outright changed as it usually is. But not a large amount. These changes typically target text which was in a really broken state before anyways, so the changes shouldn't be disruptive even if you've been using this translation for a while.

-1 fairly big file that hadn't been cleaned up by hand before, now is.
[] It mostly pertains to characters who play under a liege and aren't a ruler themselves.
[] So if you exclusively play a ruler like I do, this update won't do much for you.
[] Still, it means the translation is that much closer to reaching 100% completion.

-As always, general improvements have also been made.
[] The typical typo fixes, grammar corrections, etc.

This is an "emergency update" to translate text which was newly added and missing from the current translation.

It was done with GPT 3.5 Legacy, which is more or less comparable to using Google Translate.
It's admittedly hastily put together and is not cleaned up by hand whatsoever, so expect some broken Engrish in here.

This will be fixed as translation catches back up to where it was pre-GPT 4, but for now this will ensure you can at least sort of read the text and keep playing.

-10 more files have been cleaned with the help of GPT 4 in this update.
[] That's 10 files closer to completion! So...much...more to go...

-Thanks to GPT 4, more errors have been caught and corrections have been made!
[] As before, some text has been expanded, completely changed, or otherwise altered due to realizing my original translation was lacking. Though the count for such changes still remains on the small scale. Thankfully, my original translation wasn't nearly THAT terrible.

-More general improvements have also been made.
[] Such as typo fixes, grammar corrections, etc.

Well, it's been... *checks notebook* ... *throws notebook away* -a while!
To be honest, I almost did lose all drive and hope to work on this /at all/. For numerous reasons, but mainly because it is hard. Harder than I thought. It's tedious, time-consuming, and I want to cry. Professional translators have my respect, as does anyone who even attempts to tackle projects like these. Even more so if they manage to complete them, too.

Anyways, with the boring stuff out of the way, changelog!

-The Azur Lane portion of the translation has been brought up to 100% parity with the original Chinese text.
[] Not that there was a lot of new text to update, mind you, but hey, we're on top of things!
[] Will also do this for the Hm Invasion part next, of course.

-The ENTIRE Azur Lane portion of the mod has been passed through GPT-4 and cleaned up by hand
[] For the first time ever, this includes ALL of the marriage/acquisition dialogue.
[] That alone represents roughly 260k amount of text! Somewhere in the realm of ~30000 words.
[] This means that the Azur Lane portion of the mod is, officially, at 100% completion. *cue confetti*

-Using ChatGPT really has been a huge game-changer in terms of improved accuracy for the translation. It's an extremely impressive piece of technology.
[] A small but decent amount of text has been revised and improved to better represent the original's intent/meaning.
[] Some text has even been outright changed as ChatGPT helped give me better insight into the cultural meaning of some words/text, making me realize that my original interpretation was lacking.
[] For now, that amount is actually rather quite small, but I imagine it might be higher for the Hm Invasion part. As that one has waaaayyyyy more text.

-General improvements to text, grammar, etc.
[] More text has been standardized across the board. For example, sometimes the text for choices had periods at the end of them, and sometimes not. Pick a damn lane and stick with it, me!
[] Some text has been reworded just a bit for the sake of legibility/flow/interpretation. The number of changes for this are actually rather small though, and most text survived my new proof-reading.
[] Some text had typos which have now been caught and killed with fire politely escorted out of the premises.
[] Can you believe that so far I had been doing all of this without a dang spell checker? Absolute madness, I know. What the heck was I thinking?

-And finally, my sanity would like to thank ChatGPT for its invaluable help.
[] My sanity would also like to slap ChatGPT across its beautiful, beautiful, digital face. Because the time it saved me in Googling, it sort of demolishes by having me go through text with a finer-tuned comb. This comes mostly due to the increased quality of text it can help provide when I take the time to work with it and bounce ideas back and forth.
[] I am caught in an endless cycle of pain. Please send help.

-Oh and I almost forgot. By popular demand, grass has now been added. Enjoy!

Bet you thought this wouldn't get updated! Well, here we are with another update after all!

Just like the last update (which oh boy feels forever ago), this update brings with it general fixes across multiple files.
AKA more typo fixes, more text being cleaned up by hand, some more text being translated. You know, the works.

And it's actually been long enough that I had to check the current state of the original mod. So I did that and brought the English translation up to current parity by hand translating newly added text.

*A possibly big change is that almost all mentions of Warshipgirls, Shipgirls, Ship Girls, etc, have all been condensed into just "Shipgirls". The reason for this is that I don't think it's entirely necessary to make all these differentiations within most event text. However, it is true that some gameplay things can only be done by the Shipgirls from the Azur Lane mod or vice versa, so the differentiation will still be made during gameplay text. Like explicitly calling a position "Azur Lane Secretary", for example. And if you check the traits for a given Shipgirl, it will explicitly mention whether she is from the Azur Lane mod or not, which should help further. Still, if you're reading this and think it's a bad change, do let me know!

And now back to your regularly (read: """regularly""") scheduled update log:

Slightly revised an old event translation now that I have new insights on how it plays out, so it should read a lot better now.

Some more work has gone into properly translating the text that tells you what men-at-arms you unlock for taking certain bonuses.

I also got started on cleaning up the interface for negotiating your vassal's contracts, then got lazy, and decided to instead clean up the text you get for capturing certain important cities. Spoiler alert; It turned out there was a ton of these and it was also going to be quite the time-consuming endeavor. In fact, it was so time-consuming I got lazy AGAIN and went right back to cleaning up the vassal contracts instead. What a cycle. The worst part? I'm not even done DX

I wish someone would have told me translating anything, especially when you don't even know the language natively, was hecking hard! ...okay, I actually pretty much knew that so I've only brought this upon myself when I decided to do it anyways. But hey! Anime waifus! ...anyway.

I'll get back to finishing up the work at a later date for now. Heck, maybe it even won't take another month again??? (absolutely no promises on that)

Well, tune in for next time, whenever that may be. I came down with the Flu so I don't really feel like doing much of anything right now, let alone staring at like a bajillion words on my computer screen. But anyways, you take care of yourself now! Yes, you! The one reading these! Thanks for taking the time to do so! And happy (late) New Years!

Opdatering: 5. dec. 2022 kl. 10:44

For this update, I started a new campaign to play through myself and just see how the translation holds up while playing.

So the changes are quite all over the place and cover many different files. I didn't really bother to keep track of it for this reason.

But to generalize it,
-Translated text that previously wasn't for one reason or another
-Cleaned up by hand a number of text
-Made some text much more clear in what it's doing
-Fixed some text to read much better
-Corrected more dumb typos (and probably left more to squash)

-Also, changed the Azur Lane mod's secretary to be called "Azur Lane Assistant".
This makes it much more clear as to which of the mod's secretaries are affecting your stats.
Especially useful for when you're running both mods like I do.
Menus are changed accordingly as well to reflect this new name.

Opdatering: 4. dec. 2022 kl. 1:17

This updates brings this translation up to 1.8
Though it really wasn't that hard on my end. All I had to do was add some new text and translate it.

Godspeed to the original developer who has to do the coding.

Opdatering: 3. dec. 2022 kl. 22:44

This update corrects a small amount of text across a few files which I kinda forgot to document, since I was gunning them down where I found them while trying to figure out some other text. It was just correcting some inconsistencies and text which read a bit iffy.

Also fixed some text related to interacting with your Secretary Ship.

Anyway, the actual big change for this update comes in the form of FINALLY translating the Cabinet Members interface on the right-hand side of the game screen. AKA the 'Port Area Joint Conference' and 'Military Dignitaries' menus.

That was supposed to be it but then I also ended up cleaning some more of the content relating to the Maids and the Maid Country you can form. Maybe I should keep focusing my efforts there until that gets up to a more acceptable level than it currently is at? We'll see how things go.

Opdatering: 30. nov. 2022 kl. 21:24

This update translates a small number of the tenants and their descriptions for the Holy Shipgirls' faith which they start out with.

It feels kinda good to be back and working on this mod again.
If I keep breaking down the translation into small sections to do, it's a lot less daunting than thinking about the entire thing at once. Anyway, I have a few ideas for what I'll work on next, but I think I'll take a small break for tonight first.

Opdatering: 30. nov. 2022 kl. 18:05

A while back I said I'd get back to working on this, and I meant it.
So here's a new update!

*Fixed some text in the Religious Military Reform tab. It now properly translates leftover instances of 'Magic Meng'. Also added some additional text to some of the reformations to make it just that little bit more clear as to what is doing.

*Fixed some text that had dumb mistakes like run-on-sentences or had typos. There's probably a few more but that will have to wait a little longer to when I do a big sweep of the entire text again.

*Translated the rest of the Administrative Reform tab that was previously missing.

Note that 3 of the options within the Reform menus remain untranslated as of now.
This is because for one of them, it ties back into which units you get. I will translate those hand-in-hand so that the description and name of the units remains consistent here.

The other 2 I still am unsure of what exactly they do. As such, they won't be touched for now until I poke around a little and figure it out. No ETA on this, however. I think it best I move on to other things for now as these shouldn't hurt gameplay right now.

All in all, this wasn't a huge update and just served to dip my toes into this again, so to speak. That, and finally finish off the Religious menu text (or at least like 90% of it).
