# ascension / event related

- New mod menu has been added, allows to switch between ascension types, as well as support for customization menus, allowing change for a bunch of gameplay stuff (customization currently disabled until fully completed)

- taking the ascension project now requires at least 200 of each research

- taking the ascension project now requires a new technology "dark matter creation" instead of mega-engineering

- the ascension project now gives +50 ascended technologies research speed, and 15% extra naval cap

- The ascension project now takes less time

- high funding have recieved a slight speed buff

- removed research speed bonus from ascension situation

- the ascension project cost now scales on percentage instead of fixed cost, this should negate any negative research moments. it's also WAY less punishing than the old system, even though it looks "bad"

- you can no longer say no to ascending right after taking the AP (what was the point of this lol)

- situation events have been rearanged for a more immersive experience

- wonders in the void can now grant you mega engineering if you somehow still lack that

- normal, hive and machine empires now have various bonuses from being an ascended empire

- the "new ascended empire" notification is now a diplomatic message from the empire itself, with varying messages depending on ethics

- final warning timer has been changed to account for faster ascension

- fe warning system now takes individualist machines into account

- added tooltips for accepting fe demands, showing exactly what modifiers you'll recieve if accepting

- pompous purists now ignore the FE final warning

- weaponry events has been removed, and the techs been made options upon reactor unlocks

- starbase reconstruction is now mandatory

- starbase reconstruction project now grants ship upkeep and includes defensive platforms

- mining stations will now be rebuilt in the starbase reconstruction project event

- if fallen empires have recieved stabilized dark matter, their future fleets (from my events anyway) will spawn with some stabilized components

- fallen empires can no longer recieve multiple fleets through multiple people ascending, both the warning and final warning fleets can only be spawned once

- doing your own dark matter project now grants more rewards than being a dark matter thief

- reprogress events for theft situation now happens much much quicker

- you can now avoid FE detection doing the theft situation by having high enough cloaking or by having the enigmatic engineering AP, otherwise the chance for failure has increased dramatically!

- failing battle of the archive is still only 30% chance, but can be negated completely through owning at least 1 army repeatable

- if you research dark matter power core while having any ongoing dark matter situation, you'll now recieve a pop up telling you that you suck and your situation is over

- dark matter project no longer costs x amount of each research, but instead costs a physics percentage

- removed all edicts and most ascendant agendas, pending rework for something more interesting

- all rewards for x condition doing ascension is now free of FOMO, as you can draw these techs later!

- researching "a new material" will now grant you an alloy bonus *But* make all alloy jobs cost dark matter upkeep!

- the "possibilities of dark matter" event will now fire after researching certain new techs, NOT through mid-game trigger

- if you somehow manage to get dark matter power before the different dark matter techs in doa, you'll recieve them automatically

- the ascended technologies tech icon has been updated

- the fe warn event is now completely randomized, this should lead to less "hey i've only ever seen materialists"

- you can no longer take the ascension project if you have either galactic nemesis or cosmogenesis

- the dark matter digsite will now spawn far away from your capital if possible

# ship related

- added new orbital station model for ascendant shipset

- 9 new ship classes has been added

- ascendant ships now have custom engine effects

- some ascendant ships now have new models

- defensive platform has recieved a new model, with old model being used for an upgraded platform unlocked from ascendant ship path

- escort and battlecruiser has been removed from classic ascension, since they were disabled when using acot anyway and surely no one uses classic without acot... right.. RIGHT?


# building related

- added planetary shield orbital effects for new doa planet shield buildings

- automated industries can now be built on habitats

- automated industries has been changed to suit the vanilla post-machine age buildings

- the uplink now grants production bonus and upkeep reduction, instead of building cap, as building cap has been removed

- added 59 new building icons to doa

# component related

- added some new weapon effects

- toned down muzzle flash of the titan weapons

- added new sounds for most doa weapons

- added new bombardment stances for dark matter and dark energy weaponry

- reactors on ascendant ships (specifically) will negate shield reduction from cloaking

- repair drones have been slightly buffed

- both sensors are now locked behind reactors instead of sensor techs, so the fe's will stop acting like they're cool


# civics

- civics have been completely reworked, and hives and machines now have their own ones

- new scion wargoals have been added to "galactic ascendancy" civic, and for their vassals

- certain civics have access to gaia,machine,hive world decisions if they don't have said AP (requires dlc) otherwise gives a production bonus on said planets

- dark matter core civic now grants a 40% production decision on machine worlds

- added 12 new civic icons

## memes

- the unobtainable "encryption civic" now has a new icon fitting of the entire inside joke

# fixes

- spiritualist can no longer be picked on random if you have zarqlans head

- code cleanup on event targets so descs actually work properly

- Fe's will no longer spawn stabilized dark matter fleets if they don't have access to it

- government is now unlocked after ascending

- scripted trigger for detecting the mod is now correct. god damnit inny

- mass driver 6-7 now have correct damage

- dark energy hardeners are now actually blue

- ships now actually have an icon in the fleet outliner

- all buildings should now (hopefully) be blocked from being used by FE's

- the giga bogged down researchers can no longer be picked by the warning system

- dark matter weaponry icon is no longer off center

- components now have proper ai weight

- weights of most components are no longer 0 base, so auto equip should actually pick them now

# behind the scenes stuff

- Separated LOC files into different categories

- Separated fe warnings into its own event file. surely nothing broke from this

- shipset name is now called doa_national instead of fe_national as said name was used by a different mod

# mod compatibility

- new flags have been added, doa_classic_ascended_empire and doa_classic_ascension_started for classic ascension. doa_ascension_started and doa_ascended_empire for normal ascension

## classic ascension ###

- gained new civics copied over from normal ascension

- now takes significantly less time to ascend, as the original time just doesn't really fit progression of acot (from 30 to 10 years)

- classic ascension has been renamed to "the ascension project"

- cost of ascending has been reworked into percentages instead of fixed cost

- different progress modifiers like no progress if defaulted, has been transfered from normal ascension to classic

- some minor updating on the techs you're given doing ascension

more patches will come later to balance around the nerfed research but for now... i hope you all don't die when ascending.

-Awakened empires will no longer warn you through a blank window

-Awakened empires will no longer double awake, because doa is now out of energy drinks!

-Disinterested gamers from gigass... is now supported in the warning system, and should no longer lose their special personality

Small update time!

patch notes:

- More events has been added to fallen empires doing ascension

- You will no longer get bonus speed to ascended techs if you've signed a precursor treaty



fixes:

- Fallen empire ships spawned from doa events will now have proper names

- blank windows will no longer tell you that you're an asshole for ascending

- all ascendant ships can now cloak properly. i swear i had already done this, but somehow it's not on live even though it was fixed 6 patches ago?

- Randomized warning system have been reworked and should... hopefully not break again

Small update time!

First of all, sorry for the delay in patches. i was sorta burned out from the hard work of the last major patch and took quite a bit of time off, couple that with new work and the time just wasn't really there. when that's said, hi, i'm back.

This patch was actually basically finished like 2 months ago, i just kinda... forgot to upload it, woopsie. new content is being worked on as i write this though!

patch notes:

- Your ascension will now be slowed if you're going in the negative with ANY vanilla resource, including special ones

- Going into negative research will now give you the "defaulted" modifier for 5 years

- Your ascension will now pause if your country has defaulted


fixes:

- ascended cruisers can now properly equip their torpedo slots
