Removed the new boat from the Boat designation category, disallowing it to be placed / spawned out of dev mode. It is a massively work in progress boat, implementing 2 new features in the future.

Massive update here with a ton of changes and bug fixes.


Optimization Changes

- Needs Tracker
Boats will now tick pawn's needs, meaning you need to bring food just like with caravans. This means your colonists can and will starve on boats if you leave them there with no food, so pack for your voyages!

- Force Leave Button
Force the caravan to drop what they are doing, and board onto the boat to leave. This is a great way to fix issues with rimworld getting stuck on a pawn attempting to haul that last item to the boat, but queuing other jobs, resulting in your other pawns waiting for what seems to be an eternity. Also useful if you need to leave the area asap and don't want to deselect all of the items in the packing list.

Other Changes and Additions
  • Animals in manhunter mode will no longer target boats. This was a very annoying mechanic I've noticed and decided to disable it. How would animals know what boats are...?
  • Added additional checks for packing spots preventing the caravan process from being started. Should fix errors about packing spots not being found for boat caravans.
  • Changed Wake sizes for Caravel and Galleon
  • Added cannonball textures for Caravel and Galleon
  • Added high resolution textures for Caravel and Galleon
  • Changed rowboat texture to better suit the theme of the mod.
  • Removed the Lite Update Notice .dll , ignore the error you might see ingame about this. It's harmless

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed float menu option not appearing when attempting to load an item onto a boat caravan in progress.
  • Fixed issue where boats were not automatically drafting to move to the edge of the map to form a caravan on the world map.
  • Fixed caravan tab scroll bar not working
  • Fixed issue where boat caravans in progress were not saving properly
  • Fixed issue where animals would disappear when boarded onto boats, due to being auto placed in pawn slots, and not passenger slots. This fix also applies to the pokemon issue that was reported.
  • Fixed issue where drop pods sent to boats would load their items into pawn's inventories
  • Fixed issue with boarding catatonic pawns.
  • Fixed World Tab for non boat caravans being broken
  • Removed Boat meat from all existing games. Permanently. Bye bye boat meat.


Now you may notice some red errors popping up when you start your game up. Anything related to LiteUpdateNotice and boat meat can be ignored. Their removal are completely intentional.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Issue where you would not be able to participate in world map events if your boat was part of your caravan
  • Fixed bug where docked boats would be picked up from RimWorld's Garbage Collection, deleting the boats and resulting in an error of "Not enough space on ships to house all pawns." upon attempting to board the Docked Boat world object.
  • Fixed issue where Docked boat world object was not saving properly.
  • Fixed issue where not all items from the ship were transfering to pawns upon docking boats at settlement.
  • Fixed bug where purchased items from settlements would be placed into pawn's inventories rather than into the boat.
  • Fixed bug where additional wealth was being added from shallow water tiles
  • Fixed bug when splitting a caravan with multiple boats and the dialog menu would attempt to draw the boat section.
  • Fixed issue where waypoints were not able to be added unto Rivers when using the RoutePlanner or forming a caravan. This mainly affected RiverSizeMatters, which is now fully functional.

Changes
Movement has now been disallowed if the boat(s) is docked at a settlement. This prevents the player from forgetting to board back onto the ships and being confused when the caravan isn't moving anywhere. Now it will send a message notification telling the player they need to board the pawns back onto the boat.

Caravan speed has been changed significantly. Boat Caravans will now use the slowest boat's movement speed for calculating how fast the caravan will go. There is also now a multiplier based on the ships power type (as of now it's rowing and sailing). This will result in faster caravan speeds while encouraging using higher tier boats.

Balance Changes
Research base cost has been decreased for the Caravel and the Galleon

WorkToBuild has been decreased for the Fishing Boat, Caravel, and Galleon

Wood cost has been decreased for the Caravel and Galleon.

My hope with these balance changes is to encourage the research, building, and usage of boats early on for players rather than investing a large amount of time and resources which could hinder colony growth. These early tech level boats were meant to provide a significant advantage for caravans while also taking some investment. Upon testing ingame, it's apparent that these costs are too high.


One last note, the Mod Settings is also WIP. It will be getting a significant overhaul soon.
