At one point I had over 100 trade cogs raising 123 Gold per trip and took my Gold up to about 800k before I got bored and sunk them all. Whilst I probably could have played it as you intended I managed to get at least a week of play before I finally killed off the excess units and used them to wipe the final castles. The enemy monks were just the right amount of nuisance that I had to keep alert to stop from losing important units.
I had kept Alba's port alive for the trade. So I had to keep forces stomping on the Woad warriers and their barracks. Easily resolved when I captured 6 Elite Boyers.
Excellent scenario. One of the best single gamer scenarios I have seen. This is what makes AoE2 still a great game worthy of keeping installed.
