~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Every captain wants to have displays that show some useful info. Make your bridge display damaged blocks in engineering, engine room, etc. Make big screen by joining multiple Wide LCDs! Show power output, batteries status, laser antenna connections and much more. Make your docking bay display which landing gears are occupied. Make screens for docking fighers when landing gear is ready to dock so they can nicely see it from cockpit! Make one LCD per container to see its contents.. and much more!
Please DO NOT publish this script or its derivations without my permission! Feel free to use it in blueprints!
HOW TO UPDATE?
This script is not a mod so it does not update by itself. You need to load new version of script to your programmable block to overwrite the old one. You do that in exactly the same way as when you first loaded the script into programmable block.
Open your programmable block, click Edit, click Browse Workshop, select Automatic LCDs 2, click OK, Check code, Remember & Exit. Done. Your script is now updated.
RATING
If you like this script please give it positive rating, it gives me "fuel" to continue.
If you plan to give it negative rating, please at least let me know what makes it so horrible that it deserves negative rating so I can learn from the mistake and/or fix it.
!! PLEASE READ THIS !!
I'm really happy that this script became so popular and that so many people like it, but many people means many questions and I rather enjoy other things than saying the same things all over again to people. So I wrote the guide where I've put everything about every command, tried to answer all questions that people had in comments and I keep it updated. I'm responding to many comments that are obviously stated in the guide. Please read the guide.
If you've got questions, but you don't want to read the guide, then this script is probably not for you.
I understand that this script got quite a lot of features and it can be hard to crunch whole guide. Unfortunately I can't teach everyone how to use it via chat. It took me several hundreds of hours to put this all together so please take your time to read the guide and follow the troubleshooting section if something doesn't work.
If you have problem with some command then read the guide section for that command and make sure you use it correctly. Try to use it on separate LCD by itself so it's easier for you to see the issue and definitely try some examples!
You are the space engineers so go ahead and play with it and figure it out :)
Thank you very much for your understanding.
@Zhe Toralf: no way to link LCDs in a cockpit, you have to split the command if possible (for example for the inventory/components, you remove some in one display that you add in the next display) and no you can sort alphabetically unless you separate the inventory command for each item (no good for performances)
Here's an example for the small industrial cockpit:
@0 AutoLCD
Invlist T:* +component:300 -motor -girder -detector -thruster -explosives -superconductor -medical -gravgen -reactor -canvas -computer
@1 AutoLCD
Invlist T:* +motor:300 +girder:300 +detector:300 +thruster:300 +explosives:10 +superconductor:300 +medical:100 +gravgen:100 +reactor:300 +canvas:20 +computer:300
Set the font size to 0.82 (this is what I use)
@Coolshot001: in the description of this script there is a link to the full guide. You will find there a chapter "how to use with cockpits"
Any chance the "Details" command can be expanded with a "end" argument. I like that I can make the scrip look for certain lines after which it starts to display, but I would love to also have a line at which the script stops writing the control panel readings.
Takeda Sep 1 @ 8:17am
So playing with the Details command I find I can pull info on for example, my shield's health, or my weapons ammo type - but it comes with a ton of other data I don't want.
With the shield, the current HP value is then followed by most of the block's detail info, with a weapon, I can at least search for 'name' which removes about 60% of unneeded info.
Is there a way to trim down the detail report so it's more focused?
@Alpha Dragon language in Date command is based on operating system language settings. If you are playing on server it will be based on server language settings, if in singleplayer it will be based on your system language. Its not possible to translate those in the script. I've accepted your friend request :)
Alpha Dragon Aug 24 @ 9:39am
@MMaster Thx but I have a question.
How I can change the name of the days and months for the date command??
And send me a friend request so that I can add you to collaborators
