Also, a way to simply hide and show it would be nice, instead of saving+loading.
I try the mod in 1.186, i add a note but not nothing on the screen.
Thanks.
If you're still looking for something like that and are in Singleplayer, you could try out the Comms tab in your terminal. I wrote things in that a while ago to see if it worked as a journal, and they haven't been erased yet. That was back when planets came out, and the notes are there to this day.
I'd say that works pretty well as a notepad. You might even be able to make your own factions that act as chapters, with the 'Factions' window at the bottom-left.
I was finding it while searching a way to inject from a programmable block into the HUD. Now I understand that this not possible with Notes right now. I tried having a go with the source, but are just lacking the skill yet. So maybe as as feature suggestion, could you think of an (more or less) easy way to modify it to access Notes from the menu system and so inject arbitrary output from a programmable block?
I also really think that would be an easy way to make the Text HUD API accessible from ingame, a thing that is probably quite searched by from scripters.
