Why did relic never bother to add custom models, textures, sounds etc
but you guys allowed COH1 modders to do that? It just makes no sense

Does this mean you can create an asset pack containing new models to be used in Worldbuilder? New graphics? New sounds?

Thanks!

You create a dependency when creating your map and then the game will automatically download any required asset packs assuming they are available. Head over the the wiki to get the details. http://modding.companyofheroes.com/asset-pack

Will users of the map have to subscribe to any new assets you use?

Just a quick note that asset packs are a type of mod that mappers use from within the worldbuilder tool. It's not something that can be used directly in the game.

Well that is actually interesting, the tournament idea....

This is just example content - we used the logo because it's pretty obvious something new is there. We don't expect people to play with Relic Logos everywhere ;) But fans could run a tournament and have sponsors logos there if they wanted to go that direction. What's cool is that now new asset packs can be made available to mappers increasing the visual variety in forthcoming community maps.
